This has quickly become one of my all-time favorites! Very smoky opening that burns out to a soft, spicy rose. I love that it sits close to your skin - it makes it incredibly intriguing, I get compliments on it all the time. So hard to find clove notes and this is a LOVELY addition to my collection.

Absolutely obsessed with this whole product line from Serviette, especially Byronic Hero. Bottle design is gorgeous, and I can tell so much thought has gone into it from the top down. Where did Serviette come from??

Probably my favourite from the line. Smells classy and sophisticated, fresher than the notes may suggest. I don't smell gasoline distinctly and wouldn't know it was there if I did not read the notes.

i respect the artistry but although i was excited, she’s not for me... i like some strange smells but the more i smell, the more i realize said oddities are usually in the earthy moldy dusty organic dirty family... gasoline may be where i draw the line. this is a classic jammy patchouli rose and i was excited when i started perceiving the pine & saffron peeking through but the gasoline notes just feel sour, discordant screechy and really off putting.

My immediate favorite, the suggestively named “Byronic Hero” is by far the least subtle fragrance in Taylor’s repertoire. Taking, as previously mentioned, a well known but tasteful genre: the rose-oud, and rendering it approachable and idiosyncratic. The main draw here is the stated diesel exhaust note. It is hardly airy and atmospheric like Chris Rusak’s AEOOJ (LMB), or aggressively metallic like Rubini’s Nuvolari. It more so reads to me like a cheese-like stink to accompany the spicy saffron-laden oud. I’m not always the biggest fan of rose notes, but here it’s the specific kind of oh-so-dramatically drippy jammy rose that makes me forget my many misgivings towards the queen of flowers. I see immediate similarities to the loud NoLiTa banger Notorious Oud from similar city kids DS and Durga. To me, saffron screams not only luxury, but young money. It is an essential wing of the decisively un-subtle Baccarat Rouge F-22 fighter jet that hasn’t let up on its nearly decade-long arial attack route on the clueless financially endowed women of corporate America. I am very much endeared to its use here, however. I could see this being the perfect perfume to turn heads at a lit-mag opening, but something I would equally want to wear at home on a rainy day. It is a suitable introduction to stylized oud for those looking to widen their tree tastes beyond the sweetness of sandalwood, but has that same sort of addictive coyly plastic astringency that made Vilhelm Parfumerie’s Faces of Francis one of my most worn perfumes of the last year. I think Byronic Hero does what Serviette does best, which is delicately tow the line between accessible and experimental in a hyper-stylized package that whispers longingly to be posted, retweeted, and shared. Perhaps not as moody as the name might suggest, I think it is absolutely full bottle worthy no matter your previous experience with oud wood or morbidly brooding poetry.

One of my favorites from the three I tried. There's something very striking and modern about it. Seeing people describe it as a rose-oud makes a little more sense now when I think about it, but it feels stripped down and focused on the bright, fresh-chemical kind of oud aroma. The diesel note is really cool. It feels silvery and I pick up some coniferous elements paired with it. I almost got the impression of latex or rubber, but then that fresh rose note comes through- not super full and realistic, but composed perhaps of some of its individual components. Floral, fresh, a little juicy, but not obviously so. There's also a mineral, metallic aspect to it that reminds me of small parts of jorum studio's rose highland. The blending is really what stands out. It's not too far from a great pairing of notes that has seen a thousand variations over the years, but it still manages something quite unique. My only criticism was that I couldn't tell if the sharp chemical note in the drydown was something that I could sit with all day. Some of the inviting freshness fades into the drydown and becomes more of a peculiar gasoline aroma with pointy fir balsam poking through with an angular metallic glint. It's there it loses a bit of approachability, going more austere but still kinda cool. I got the vibe that it would fit a techno club or some similar futurist, gritty kind of space or aesthetic.

An underripe raspberry swimming in an oversized leather jacket, smoking the wrong end of a cigarette. The raspberry has Chuck Bass's face. The shadow it casts is an equally scrawny and pitiful rose. The rose has no face, and yet it is screaming, white noise, static, a broken radio. The jacket sleeves hang past invisible wrists, past the point where wrists should end. Chuck Bass raspberry has dessicated and wizened and shrunk up into a little freeze-dried mummy, aged before ripening, a little mummy-berry rattling around the ashtray of your skeezy older cousin's El Camino.

love the branding, campaign imagery, packaging (the discovery set even comes with an embroidered napkin!), and bottle design from serviette. it's such a beautiful line! this fragrance is fabulous, a rich jammy rose with the cut of a hint of gasoline. I love it!

Reminds me quite a bit of TF's Tuscan Leather.
