Fleur Japonais

Shalini surprised me again with this 7th jewel of her collection. Based on the name and the notes, I was expecting a gossamer floral, centered on Sakura blossom, the scent of which is very subtle (even barely discernible) and very slightly sweet. Instead, when I first smelt Fleur Japonais, I was amazed by its gentle power, its fervent serenity, the frankincense and resins at the center, softened lightly by the florals around the edges. This is a deeply introspective scent, evocative of ancient rituals performed in temples hidden in gardens, in harmony with nature. I love incense but get easily overpowered by it in some perfumes. It is never the case here, as it is perfectly balanced. The quality of the materials and composition shines throughout. Surprisingly, in some wearings, I thought I could discern light floral accents in the dry down. While being devoid of sweetness and displaying an austere quality, the scent is somehow deeply comforting. Also perfectly unisex. At once modern and immemorial, this parfum weaves its way to your heart and soul. I am in love.

I have the limited edition Byzantine flacon of Fleur Japonais and LOVE it!!! I own the entire collection from this house and each fragrance is extremely beautiful!! Congratulations on another great creation!!!

Delicate floral incense centered around a soft but lovely cherry blossom (Sakura). The scent opens with the central note surrounded by hints of magnolia and labdanum and immediately begins to settle into the base of frankincense and sandalwood. The slight feminine leaning scent has moderate projection and longevity. The scent has a reverent and calming feel to it. Lovely but very fleeting. Enjoy!

Fleur Japonais has taken the #1 spot for a perfume that perfectly showcases the scent of Frankincense resin. Up until today it was Heyokas Black sacra, however shalini topped that. It is a gently green, a touch powdery, fresh and resinous scent that is monotonous overall, but multifaceted otherwise, since it perfectly delivers visual and sensual parameters of frankincense. It is not loud or superprojecting, but for those who seek this aroma and requires elegance - nothing else i tried tops this perfume. Not sure that i will get it at 650, but if i ever find it at 75% off i will definitely grab it. Definitely test it though.
