Jade Dragon

This is love from the first sniff for me. Jade Dragon is similar to Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Novaya Zarya The Vert and many citrus/tea dominant scents But much better, completely natural feeling, smooth and bright, almost realistic combo of green tea and bergamot. Gorgeous, simple and linear. It also has the uplifting effect which is very nice. I don't really get vetiver.. this is strong green tea with bergamot. I can feel something like non-sweet amber at the background but it's very faint. Totally unisex tea scent. I won't comment about its performance which doesn't feel great. I'll update with new info the next days. This may be a fb worthing. All I can say for the moment is that it stays close to the skin and you can't overspray this scent. It's impossible. Update Longevity : it is easily detectable for the first 2.5-3 hours. It lives as a skin scent for about 5.5-6 hours. Most of its life stays close to the skin so Jade Dragon is mainly for personal pleasure or for indoors use if you prefer. It has edt concentration. At the drydown, when it is a skin scent, I can feel floral traces. To be more specific, jasmine. I was told that the old formulation was much stronger but different from the current Jade Dragon. Anyway, I prefer the modern version. It retails here 250 usd per 100 ml. UPDATE After owning and some full wearings I can get the vetiver which is easy detectable 2-3 hours before it dies. It has the same feeling, the same qualities and volume as in The Botanist by MiN New York house. It's fresh, wet, slightly citrusy green vetiver with a clean vibe. Feels dark/wet/mossy and it's velvety smooth. I suspect the presence of high quality white musk in both of these scents which may create the wet/clean illusion. Moreover, this fragrance is among the most complimented fragrances I own. A big surprise for me. I didn't expect that. Notes according to me. Green tea Vetiver Jasmine White musk Mild/soft amber Bergamot If you want to improve the longevity make some sprays on hair and/or clothes. It creates an aura around you which lasts easily 6-7 hours max. Every person who will come close to you, will feel it.

This is a blind buy for me. I was willing to take the risk as I love vetiver, tea and bergamot notes, plus, I am liking what Carlos Benaim did with Dunhill Icon. I found out soon enough that it was an expensive mistake. What I got is only a whiff of the listed notes and it would not last. 6 sprays to the chest and neck areas, 2 sprays each on either arms - the silage is non-existence and everything disappears after 1 hour. Totally a waste of money. Oh and by the way, the bottle is quite nice, the weight is quite substantial as it was constructed of solid glass, the sprayer is however, very weak. The fragrance is made in China. This is a very expensive paperweight Today decided to have a go at it again for the sake of fairness. The scent is quite good if you are into these sort of notes. It does not smell synthetic. It also reminds you of Bvlgari Eau Parfumee au The Vert except that in the latter, the tea note is more prominent. Longevity & sillage is in the same ballpark. The scent of the Jade Dragon is very linear from start to finish. It is very soft and I guess you can spray a lot to get a stronger effect as it doesn't choke you like some stronger perfume. You get the combination of the three notes and none is more prominent over the others. The tea scent is better than that of the Bvlgari EPaTV, the vetiver is right there between Guerlain vetiver & TF Grey vetiver. The bergamot note advertises its presence in a very polite manner. My Verdict: Scent: 7/10 Longevity: 3/10 Sillage: 2/10

The positive reviews are quite accurate. Like the earlier reviewer GRAF I also note the presence of jasmine. That is much more evident to me than the musk note most also feel. I do not detect an amber. I sense so much Jasmine that it could actually be the fourth listed note. When I first tried this fragrance 5-years ago it immediately brought to mind jasmine-infused Chinese green tea from a high-end restaurant or tea shop, sometimes even served with fresh jasmine petals, the smell and taste of which is very familiar to me. When tested back then I had no idea of the claimed notes. Chinese and Japanese green teas differ significantly, and while I won't get into that here I will say that the vast majority of fragrances on the market seem to feature a green tea note more in-line with the Japanese variety. Jade Dragon was around $250 that day, and with limited retailers and availability was likely targeted toward the wealthy of Chinese decent. There aren't many fragrances for which I can justify such a price paid (even today) so I passed... and dreamed. A few years later in 2017 I was able to obtain my first bottle at 50% off and this has been my most used perfume since that time. Pure, simple, excellence! It's discontinued, so if the reviews justify a blind buy you might want to grab one soon.

I'm happy I found it last week at sales rack. It's fun and fizzy fragrance, with green mate-like drydown and beautiful uplifting vetiver in it. Hence my association with LV Cactus Garden in recommendations. They share similar DNA down the line, even though zero similarity is there in the opening hour. Jade's opening is very bergamot heavy and something we all smelled before, but mid and drydown from this fragrance are what you are paying for. In terms of longevity it lasted for 7h on my skin with moderate projection while after 9 it was becoming skin scent. I could still sense the trace of it the next morning when I was taking shower which makes me believe that it is a solid performer in humid weather. Definitely best find for me this year.

This was one of the first perfumes that " Got me into fragrances " . I had a few fragrances before this, although this and ' Jimmy Choo Man Aqua ' were the 2 that spiked my interest enough to properly get into the fragrance game . And after 45 ish bottles of fragrances later ( niche/designer/clone ) this is still a fragrance that i think holds its ground . To me, it smells lovely . It's very authentic and just generally mass apealing, which from a fragrance of this price range is all that i can really hope for . ☆☆☆☆☆

Jade Dragon is just about a perfect achievement for what it is: it doesn’t try to be or do anything extraordinary, but it’s so stunningly simple that messing with the extant composition would mar its beauty. It’s relatively unknown (a good thing!) and not easy to find (a bad thing), but if you want a tea fragrance seemingly woven of silk thread, this one is worth the trouble. I was given a sample of this and bought a full bottle right away. It’s a treasure.

Thanks to the community I pulled a trigger on two bottles. This is exactly what I want from a tea themed summer frag. Tangy, fresh, uplifting and it lasts quite a bit. I paid 32eur per bottle thus consider it a steal, however I see that the prices start from 50-60eur (I would still bought it at the price). I cannot wait for the hotter days to fully enjoy it.

I received it today. A simplistic, bombastic fragrance of a few notes. I expect that both the scent and longevity will improve further over time, as I have observed quite a few times already. Indeed, a more masculine counterpart to Elizabeth Arden. Get it while you can.

The only fragrance in my collection that I have a back up bottle... It's that good.

Excellent fragrance. I’ve compared it to a couple others (Bois de Vetiver and Montabaco Intensivo) but won’t go into detail. It is similar but is a stand alone as well, and generally speaking this is a unique type of fragrance in comparison to all the other genres out there. It’s one that I would recommend as a stand-out fragrance that speaks just loud enough to those around you. It doesn’t shout because it’s refined, and because of the profile it represents... The profile is fresh, somewhat aromatic, and the semi sweet type of green. This is a tea fragrance, and I’m not experienced enough in that category to speak with any authority, but it has a light fragrant tea scent that is very calming and welcoming. I love this one, and I would recommend it at around 90% as a blind buy. I think this has a masculine feel to it, but not hyper masculine at all. It has great performance and is one that I don’t go anosmic to. If you want to smell great and different, give this one a try. It really is impressive in quality with a very likable persona.

I agree with GRAF - this is like a masculine take on Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea. It's less floral and less complex with a vetiver note in the base that steers it in a masculine direction. You could also mention something from Cartier's Declaration line without the cardamom and I wouldn't argue with you. That's a good thing to me. This fragrance is bright, uplifting, and exudes a calm confidence. What you smell is what you get - but what you get smells really good!

A lovely delicate creation. It's just bergamot, tea, vetiver, musk and amber. Slightly floral. Very well done. You won't offend any one with this, great quality too. Best suited for warmer days.

Gorgeous tea scent! Perfect. I tried the iris fragrance from this house and the performance was terrible

First I need to start by saying that this was a blind buy for me. Of course there was a little bit of research on what sort of fragrance it would be based on notes and similarity with other fragrances, but I had no idea what it actually smelled like. But after all, I have to say I made such a good choice and I am quite happy with what it turned out to be. Jade Dragon is a very gentle masculine tea scent. It is absolutely safe for wearing in the office. I can easily see it being a compliment getter as well due to it being a usual freshie. It still gives a clean and fresh vibe, but in a more classy way I would say. Sadly the performance isn’t it’s strength. Longevity on my skin is probably around 3 - 3.5 hours, while projection is sort of strong in the first hour, then it quiets down to a skin scent until it completely fades away. 2 months later update: this fragrance keeps getting me compliments all the time. Everyone seems to notice it on me(especially the first 2 hours) and everyone says it smells amazing. Definitely a solid fragrance for the money! But you know what? I’m not even complaining about this, because it cost me just £27(around €30). And it’s a spring/summer scent. So can’t expect miracles. I was a bit surprised to see people on here mentioning a price of $100+ for a bottle of this!? Don’t know what region they’re in but I believe in Europe this is considered a cheapie and I can’t find it for more than £40 online in the UK. Generally I would say that if you like tea scents with a clean(sweet) vibe that are subtle and somewhat gentle - this can be a safe bet! Even as a blind buy. Especially for a price of something like €30 for 100ml.

I purchased a sample of this a couple of years ago, enjoyed it then promptly forgot about it, dismissing it as too simple and polite. I have recently rediscovered it during a quest for a refreshing and lasting citrus fragrance. I can't remember what reminded me, but I have recently been wearing a sample of Dior The Cachmere, which may have subconsciously prompted me! Overall this is l the scent of cooling, purifying tea. It's quite zen. It's very clean. In terms of notes, I don't get any more or less than the listed three, in that order. The bergamot provides a pithy and nicely bitter, juicy opening. The tea then quickly glides in with a rounded coolness (not like an stringent black tea, more of a refreshing, soft green tea) which pervades for most of the lifespan. I initially thought I detected no vetiver, but as this recedes to a skin scent it is there; dry and parched grass, with no earthy/soily side. Simplicity wins out with this one; I have found it so easy to wear, and can see myself continuing to reach for it several times a week during the hotter months. It's like a classic freshie that it just clever enough, which nobody else is wearing. EDIT: I had to come back to say, the smell of this one is completely joyful! EDIT 2: I have somehow managed to lose my bottle of this, and I've been desperate to wear it now we're in mid-summer; I'm going to have to re-buy this 😭

Unisex. Women in Asia seem to really like this. I'm a guy, and I've worn it to the gym a lot, and I've had multiple women approach me to ask what I'm wearing (also had a one night stand ask if they could take my bottle home with them the following morning haha). Which makes sense, as Nishane Wulong Cha-type tea scents are still popular here. Works great in high humidity. Delicate, in the same way Cartier fragrances are. In fact, this gives off the same overall vibe as Declaration Haute Fraicheur, though I prefer the Cartier. Great value if bought at a discounted price. Not worth retail pricing imo. 7.75/10

Found at TJ MAXX clearance section.. IMO, Bvlgari eau the Vert...then add a light vetiver note. I do get some floral...jasmine..???.... It is a good unisex everyday type scent...clean..no sharpness or herbal-ness here.This is not really a long lasting scent...bvasically goes to a skin scent..but it does still linger well enough,IMO. I enjoy how whatever floral vibe I am getting blends with the bergamot/vetiver notes. EDIT: I also purchased the Black Iris by this house,(not in database here) and it reminds me of Bvlgari eau the Noir.....plus iris.....I prefer this over the Jade Dragon....

Beautiful fragrance, but unfortunately the performance isn't that great: almost immediately it turns into a skin scent and the longevity is about 1-2 hours on my skin. But a BEAUTIFUL summery, uplifting scent. Reminds me of Declaration by Cartier and Bois de Vetiver by Lagerfeld.
