Ambre Essentiel

This smells like riding on a horse-sleigh through winter-wonderland :) I love to wear this on my winter coat, when I go for walks around Christmas/New Years and its frosty and snowy all around. Would have never guessed the notes nor the name of this fragrance, but I love the scent and to me it smells like so much more then the sum of the listed ingredients. Its my favourite from the line, although I also love Santal Blanc which also evokes an enchanted woods kind of vibe for me :) Really great quality perfumes for a great price!

I get a very strong burst of ginger! Both initially and it lasts during drydown. On me, this was not a gentle or creamy fragrance but a sharp and zesty one. As it dries down, I begin to smell sandalwood tempered with sharp citrus and spice -- again, particularly ginger. I do not get much amber, certainly not in the somewhat cloying way that it is often done. I think one could easily wear this scent in almost any season as it has a lot of depth and nuance but is not sweet or cloying. The sillage is minimal but it lasts nicely. This is not a love for me, I find the ginger scent overpowering and I do not like how it persists through drydown. I am glad I gave it a chance beyond the initial ginger blast as the drydown is the nicest bit for me.
