Mekha Aranya

I have been wearing this from a sample recently. It's a beautifully done soliflore, a study on osmanthus: how to emphasise and accelerate the many facets of the flower one by one during the perfume's development. Supporting materials like aldehydes and honey are helping in this process, but they never take center stage, Mekha Aranya smells like osmanthus from beginning to the end. It opens bright and sparkling, feels slightly oud-y at this stage, then it starts to sweeten with the peachy-honey notes of the flower getting more attention, and eventually it dries down to a cozy skin scent with the leathery tones of osmanthus in front and center. Mekha Aranya is very accuratly named, wearing it does feel like wrapping yourself in a little personal cloud, diffused light shining through. From a sample at least the sillage is intimate but it follows you around the whole day.

@Uglylucy7 Sorry for my aggression, LOL. It’s an osmanthus perfume, but not in a girly, fruity way. It leans leathery, with a touch of honey and some subtle fruitiness. It's really complex and has developed beautifully over time—yet it's still totally wearable. It’s a unisex blend that men can definitely pull off too. I got Mekha Aranya back in February 2024 when it first launched. At first, I thought it was nice, but I didn’t really get into osmanthus perfumes that much. But as time went on—sometime toward the end of 2024— When I checked the bottle, I had already used up about half of it. Honestly, I didn’t even realize how much I had come to love it. My top favorite perfumes of 2024.

First of all, congratulations to khun Nutt for winning The Golden Pears Award - Art and Olfaction Awards - in the Artisan Category. This is an osmanthus-leather fragrance. Starting with faint anise and quiet aldehydes before it moves into the heart of osmanthus-leather. The osmanthus is not much floral, it is more tea-like and soon thereafter a smell of honey enters. The honey is fortunately not sweet nor pissy but more floral/herbal. Later on it dries down to a soft leather and some musk. It is well blended and completely unisex.

Siam 1928 Mekha Aranya (2024) - smoky osmanthus - One of the best osmanthus fragrances I’ve tried, right alongside Auphorie’s Miyako. It captures the flower in all its complexity — honeyed, apricot-skin sweetness with a soft, airy lift, complemented by a smoky, leathery backbone that gives it depth and character. It’s delicate yet confident, luminous yet grounded. A beautiful example of how an osmanthus perfume can be both ethereal and bold.

I'm really confused as to why Fragrantica lists this perfume under a separate brand when there's already a page for SIAM1928.

straight up it hits you with baby lotion smell, feminine leaning fregrance.

@mountaindewz you were spot on. Sorry I was a B about the comments not being reviews. But now we’ve got three reviews :) I just received this today as a rare blind buy and im honestly pretty excited about it. It’s leather forward with a hint of oud in the opening without being a ‘leather’ fragrance. It has just enough honey/musk/woody to avoid being linear or a ‘this smells like that’ perfume. It’s also one of those rare moments when a fragrance matches it print/visual marketing. It smells like the fantastical image on the bottle. It warms up revealing a golden semi sweet slightly fruity cloud with Osmanthus giving apricot vibes that have weight and still manage to feel airy. It doesn’t connect to anything familiar. I’ve never been to Thailand and I’m happy that it’s got an ‘unknown’ quality I hoped it would have. There’s really nothing like it in my collection.

FYI @Moutaindewz, Long time ago, the owner mistakenly create a brand in Fragrantica as "SIAM 1928" (with space). But that's incorrect. Later, he re-create the new and correct one with no space between name and year. So that's why we now have SIAM 1928 and SIAM1928. 😵💫

Is anyone going to review this fragrance or are we only going to talk about the misplaced space in the name of the house?
