Nari Vimala

I had my eye on this one for a loooooong time before I finally bought a bottle (blind, since this line is not available in my country so I had to take a risk if I wanted it!), and I freely admit the first thing that won me over is how incredibly damn cute the bottle is - I'm a total sucker for cute when it's done right, and this combined with the story of Jay the Rabbit, the house being from Thailand plus their Art and Olfaction win for MEKHA ARANYA only furthered my intrigue and made me quite confident this would be a house worth diving into. If you are remotely a fan of pandan, Thai sticky rice or sweet Thai desserts --- this is the ONE!!!! Nutt Wesshasartar has blended these gourmand and tropical leaning notes so expertly in NARI VIMALA it is truly a work of ART. This is powdery, for sure (and as a powder lover this is what makes it a deep love for me) - but the powder is used in such a complimentary way - it lends a heavenly fluffiness to the perfectly balanced composition, and there's just a hint of condensed milk sweetness, but this never feels too sweet and definitely not cloying as it sits close to the skin and produces a delicate scent bubble. Nari Vimala smells innocent, charming, unique and FUN. The banana and coconut notes are rendered very subtly and naturally, tempered by a hint of that beautiful iris. None of these notes overwhelm the composition. I'm SO impressed with Nutt's skills as a perfumer that I can't wait until I can blind buy Mekha Aranya! Also - the perfume packaging is stunning - this house is making things with love and attention to detail; there is a darling recipe card for "Kluay Buat Chi” (Banana in Coconut Milk), that comes in the box. Really, really cool! And side note - I made the most delicious discovery today: If you LOVE this scent profile, check out House of Mammoth's Voices (another Art & Olfaction winner and THE most realistic mango sticky rice scent I've ever smelled next to this one). I layered Nari Vimala with Voices today and the two together are blowing my mind!!!! Match made in heaven! I very enthusiastically recommend Nari Vimala and this house in general!!

From the very first whiff, a fragrance that clearly speaks of its individuality. The sweetness of coconut gently unfurls into the air upon first application. A warmth just shy of body temperature, a sweetness rising like steam. Beneath lies a sweetness carrying a toasty note, reminiscent of roasted green tea. A roasted coconut quality, or perhaps a nuance akin to burnt sugar. While evoking vanilla or tonka, it avoids the texture of pure confectionery. The sweetness leans less towards the dessert-like and more towards a sweetness that includes 'space'. Delicious, yet unobtrusive, it leaves a somewhat composed impression. A very faint hint of banana. Tropical fruits do not take centre stage, serving instead as a shadow to round out the sweetness's contours. A balance that avoids leaning towards tropicality or childishness. From top to base, the fragrance impression remains largely consistent. Rather than lacking change, it feels dependable. You needn't brace for the scent, needn't evaluate it – it simply exists. A quiet, gentle sweetness distinct from vanilla. It leaves an atmosphere of acceptance, not self-assertion. The scent projection is perhaps slightly stronger. Yet, its soft diffusion prevents any harsh impression. And! It is remarkably long-lasting. 〈On the skin〉 Upon application, the gentle, toasty sweetness transforms into a scent difficult to pinpoint as 'this'. It surfaces unexpectedly, becoming a curiously intriguing presence that makes you wonder, 'What is that?' Something I hadn't noticed on the blotter, but in the middle notes, a gorgeous floral sensation suddenly appears. (Jasmine rice...?) With one spray, it provides just enough presence to softly waft during everyday movements. Nari Vimala, I think, suits those who wish to be enveloped in an air of sweetness, rather than those who simply like sweet scents. A quiet, nutty, and somehow ethereal fragrance.

I've gone through a plethora of rice, milky, coconut fragrances and enjoyed most of them. Nari Vimala is my favorite of them all and I'm so happy to be the owner of such a precious porcelain bottle that holds this delicious fragrance. Nari will not turn into a skin scent, you will smell it until you shower. It's high quality, potent but not cloying. I did not detect a banana accord, or perhaps it's a caramelized banana that smells like dark vanilla which is then combined with coconut milk. It’s not powdery. It's sweet but not a your typical cutesy gourmand because theres an accord in this fragrance that gives an exotic slightly transparent green touch that other cozy rice scents don't have which makes it unisex. The porcelain bottle is just a cute bonus!

i need a full bottle of this IMMEDIATELY. beautiful starchy, sweet, powder scent. coconut and rice dreams, it truly is such a beautiful fragrance. i think milky rice is what primarily comes through by the end of it, similar to arielle shoshana's sunday, but the opening is so unique and there is still a beautiful banana leaf/orris note coming through. love it!!!

Excellent! Creamy iris, sweet coconut, warm and sweet. Thick, sticky, creamy smell. At first you feel green punch but short. Dry down is dense and dry. Overall Am in love ❤️

Bought a small sample of this for my girlfriend because I liked it so much in the perfume store. I like the brand, it offers a bunch of interesting and unique fragrances and the white bottles look fantastic. I loved the notes for this and I was very excited but unfortunately it isn't as banana-forward as I had hoped. It has a very slightly tropical feel and bursts out with sweet powderiness, however, the drydown becomes a little too generic. I detect none of the banana leaf or paper notes, it is mostly sweet, fruity creamy coconut with some smooth powderiness. The notable thing here is the longevity and projection because holy moly, this is a beast. With just 2 tiny sprays from the sample, I was able to smell it all throughout the day on my gf from quite far away. It almost became too cloying, but thankfully the composition is light enough to not be super overbearing and not invade your nose too much. All in all, despite being a little too much at times, this is a great choice for those who want something unique and truly long-lasting. Would recommend.

Smells a lot like Taipei by One Day. This is softer and less abrasive. The combination of notes smells like taro milk to me. I also smell good quality REAL sandalwood in the base. FYI: pandan leaf is listed as top note on their official site smh. Fragrantica just cant seem to get their s#it right. No wonder it smells like taro...

If you buy this, don’t think that you are going to get the banana note because you will be totally disappointed. This is fully coconut and sandalwood, mixed with rice and other floral/powdery notes. It reminds me of a couple of fragrances Sandalwood/Rice and Vanilla oriented, I will list them up here. The performance is very good and the projection is moderate — nevertheless I am honestly not quite pleased with this fragrance because I was expecting to smell more banana, or banana leaf rather than just rice and coconut.

I had high hopes and loved the opening - banana and warm rice just as advertised. But on my skin, the green banana disappears very quickly and the rice gradually fades. The dry down smells like musty laundry detergent to my nose. I wish the beauty of the opening could hold on throughout.

Blind bought this and ugh 😑 I hoped for light ethereal and fresh banana with musk-y rice notes...instead it’s coconut heavy with sandalwood and sticky toffee/caramel with salty sweaty vibes 🤮 ugh! It’s going back even though the bottle is beyond cute!!!

more tangy than your average chiquita or dole, and more creamy and sweet than a ripe plantain. perfectly ripe baby bananas that have been left cooking in full-fat coconut milk for ages and have since cooled down, so the bananas have left the broth a little extra starchy and tart. there’s a green-ness that keeps things fresh, like you’re getting served on straight up banana leaf. all the sweetness isn’t added, but naturally occurring from the fresh ingredients and cooking process. nari vimala is a solid recreation of a very special flavor experience, but i really feel like its true heart is a lovely humid weather orris. the different gourmand notes mainly seem to be a showcase of how creamy and fruity the root can get, while never shying away from her starchy and vegetal nature. kinda incredibly at home in a particularly tangy banana pairing where she’s not being hidden away like a shameful secret. lovely performance, always rounds off to something softly sweet and powdery, sometimes a bit soapy.

This is totally different for me than for other people. I get hardly any rice, and I get a super sweet banana and what smells like mango opening. I am very disappointed. The screechingly sweet opening lasts for ages but eventually it becomes more milky in the drydown thank goodness. I think it may be alright if blended with L’eau Papier as that is dry and has lots of rice. I really hope so. Edit- I blended Eau Papier with this and it worked very well- it took the sharp fruity edges off and added smooth rice warmth. I’m very happy now.

This smells just like the sticky rice portion of the famous Thai dessert "Mango and Sticky Rice". It's the most fragrant sticky rice, still a little warm, releasing its powdery, jasmine-like scent. The coconut here is more like the coconut milk that you drizzle over the dessert, not fresh coconut but the creamy, buttery milk. It is very well done, just don't expect bananas but I am sure you won't miss it. I like this a lot.

I really love this. I get mostly the rice, powdery notes and coconut. Not a lot of banana. I think this smells quite similar in the dry down to Vanilla Eclat by Navitus, which i already own- so I probably dont need a bottle.. but its quite nice.
