Siete Machos

When people say Siete Machos smells cheap and synthetic, I completely disagree! I would believe it's much more expensive than it is. I've heard there are a lot of fakes, though. My bottle showed the signs of authenticity and was from a highly-rated eBay seller. Anyway, my wife wore this last night, with only a fairly generous application, and it was still faintly on her in the morning, even on the skin. Her body chemistry really projects fragrances, but this one must have had a bigger sillage last night than anything she has worn. It easily filled the room. It is a very smooth, natural blend. It is a complex floral fragrance, with a bit of a powdery and herbaceous quality, that smells like a refreshing soap or natural-smelling shampoo. The only fragrance I can think of that it's distantly related to is Brut, but Siete Machos is more soft-edged and less masculine. I would call it unisex and certainly do not consider it to be distinctly masculine (which is fine with me--I just don't wear overtly feminine scents). For easier application and in hopes of a longer shelf life, I've transferred this to a glass atomizer.

This does not smell synthetic nor floral. It’s more of earthy herbal scent, reminds me or fresh greenbrier or sarsaparilla root. Doesn’t last long as a spray, maybe if you puddle it in your palm and slap it on heavy like an aftershave it may last longer. It’s a good scent and worth $8 for a 110ml.

This is a fragrance that defies categories. It is one of the few fragrances that has almost a LITERAL cult following. Many Latinos use it as a way to “cleanse” spaces of bad spirits, bad luck... whatever you want to call it. It has a strong, harsh, synthetic opening which never really subsides. It has a distinct smell of harsh cleaners and industrial air odorizers. I would say this is something you’d wear to a rodeo, maybe to someplace with open air bars, like Bourbon Street in New Orleans. It’s just not something I would recommend wearing but it is a fragrance I think everyone should own at some point.

Urania Siete Machos is, supposedly, a unisexual cologne. The only other scent in my collection I can compare it to is Pinaud Clubman’s Lilac Vegetal. Not because they share any notes, but rather because they are both unabashedly in-your-face floral fragrances. According to an online source, seven flowers (siete = seven) make up the composition: Tuberose, Lavender, Heliotrope, Carnation, Yellow Trumpet Flower, Orange Blossom, and Jasmine. To my nose, tuberose and carnation predominate. Not as rank as Lilac Vegetal, but I struggle to imagine a situation where I’d apply Siete Machos.

For a moment I wanted to give it a try considering some comments and reviews on YouTube. At the end I thought: "what can I loose if it’s only $4dlls?". Well, it smells completely horrible, cheap and synthetic!! I threw it away after 5 minutes of smelling it and had to wash my hands. Don’t waste your money on this crap!!!

In the same vein as Molinard Habanita ( altought in no way a replacement ) a flowery powdery scent. I can feel the Geranium and nothing more.. perhaps gardenia but its so well blended that you cannot pick out the flowers its made of. I think its better for colder days and winter or late autumn.
