Don't Ask Me Permission

Starts very tropical and a little boozy. Before looking at the breakdown I smelled coconut, sandalwood, salty/sandy notes, something fruity, maybe pineapple. Something citrusy, maybe lime. Turns out there is no coconut in there, but it feels like it to me. Like coconut water. This is very reminiscent of Virgin Island Water. They aren't the same, but if you like one I would be pretty surprised if you didn't like the other. And since another fragrance from this house is essentially a dupe of VIW (Party in the Bay), you will probably like that one too. The main difference I can tell is a noticeably peppery dry down on this one. Likely pink pepper. It's really good. I would prefer it if it were less salty, had a little bit more fresh citrus, and didn't have the peppery dry down. But still, I love it.

ABSOLUTELY INSANE. It is mindblowing how incredible this perfume is.. experiencing this perfume for the first time feels like you just discovered what a perfume is. A wonderful sweet scent that is absolutely addicting. As a person that tends to overspray her scents and not settle for less than 6 sprays, two sprays of this and im good to go and can smell it on myself the whole day. It is sweet, but in my opinions it hits the sweet spot of sweet fragrances (and I dislike gourmand). If you’re a fan of mixing perfumes I’d recommend not mixing this one; it stands very well on its own. Projection, sillage, longevity : 10/10 Quality, value : 8/10 (pricy but worth it) Overall: 9.8/10

I'm a collector, meaning I have more fragrances than any one person can wear and I'm trying to narrow my collection to 20 that I would wear over and over. This would be part of my Top 20. I see comparisons to Instant Crush, I think that's inaccurate BUT it is just as unisex as Instant Crush. I can understand the comparison slightly, but when I spray it, I get no reminiscence of baccarat at all the way I do with Instant Crush. But it's certainly unique. Reading just the notes, you would believe its as sweet as it is, but if you're a gourmand lover, you will love this. But the Lime makes it so unique. It's sexy, and I get a lot of compliments when I wear it.

Great scent for those who love Kirke and Erba Pura. Very fruity and loud and with good longevity on skin and clothes. Sillage is remarkable on this one. Careful with spraying too much.

I'm rating this a like, even though I don't personally like it. Sounds dishonest right? Point is, this is really good quality, as is pretty much every Simone Andreoli creation. This smells sugarry sweet but like *real* sugar. Like something from a good summer cocktail as there is something fresh about it too. But quite sweet. Pretty unisex remarkably, and very decent sillage and longevity. I think you can rock this year round, versatile. It's just not for me. Tip of the day: there seem to be many 7,5ml's floating about in private sales. Try before you buy (the full bottle).

A blast of sweet sugar in the opening, followed by tropical fruit on a sandalwood base. It's a "sweaty" sandalwood, not very creamy. I believe this is unisex, could be comfortably worn by anyone - as long as you're into sweet and woody mixes. I wish it was more fruity and juicy - I personally prefer Sunplosion from the same house.

To me this is a summer version of Instant Crush. Not as nuclear, a bit sweeter and lighter but the base is pretty much the same to my nose. It does last forever though, the day after wearing this I can still smell it, even though I’ve showered, washed my hair etc. 😂.

Lovely sweet & fruity perfume, but not unique. It smells identically to Tiziana Terenzi Cassiopea.

Like this one more than mandorla del sud but you can get tired of it imo

Andreoli can make very easy fragrances that are sweet but not totally gourmand. This is a good example for that. Tropical and very pleasant. It's definitely great for summer but slightly masculine leaning to my nose. I am sure this is mostly a personal point of view though. I gave it to my father and he loved it.

You know when the ape in planet of the apes discovers something he doesn’t like and goes ‘Oh no...’ that is my immediate reaction to this. I can’t put my finger on exactly what makes me step back from this scene but whatever blend is going on, even to my husbands nose, is not good. This is masculine to unisex and no idea how any woman would want to wear it and feel feminine. It’s screechy, woody, and sharp. 3/10 would not buy a big bottle for sure and would gift away if someone gave it to me.

Just so strong and chemically on me. I can hardly get notes of anything specific, it's just intense chemical scent with maybe some artificial plasticky fruitiness. I would call this unisex. Too strong!

I don't know why but this and Kirké pull masculine on me 😩 I think it's the heliotrope that hates me. I don't know why we can't be friends!! I gave it to my boyfriend & will probably give my decant of Kirké to my father

It is so overbearingly powdery, that even a sniff of the closed sample bottle makes me suffocate. I just cannot stand this one ingredient which makes it impossible for me to appreciate anything else in it. :(

A lime and passionfruit cocktail. One spray will do, this one is potent. Leans masculine.

It hits hard with overly cloying sugar & hint of lemon, just like virgin lemon daiquiri cocktail. So far i can't detect no ylang, musk, or even sandalwood, just cloying sugar with fruit syrup pumps. From the idea behind this fragrance, i thought for once that it'll be extremely sexy, alluring, and seductive, but unfortunately it's just overly sweet that it's almost cloying. I can't define my final opinion on this, i just need to wait for the dry down first to decide wither if it's what it supposed to be or not! all i can say now is that i have sniffed such cloying fragrance before multi hundred times but let's wait & see. Edit (after 30+ minutes) the dry-down reminds me allot of that raspberry leather common blend, you can find it in "Empathy" by House Of Oud, both has the same exact leather raspberry bubblegum smell, but in "Don't Ask Me Permission" you will smell "Empathy" in the dry-down. “Reckless, fatally free with no purpose, no regrets. In my opinion, i don't see that! i should smell at least some sand, sea notes, & sweat since his statement "What happened in rio, stays in rio"! instead, i smell cocktail hall, raspberry bubblegum, & some sweet soft usual leather that supposed to present seduction! the one that you can find in "Leder 6" by J.F. Schwarzlose and it doesn't smell as a sensual leather or even fetish leather, it does smell like a cheap prostitute perfume & i'm not aiming to bring it down other than what i personally see this presents as an artist. I am disappointed actually since i was having a huge high hope for this fragrance in particular cause Simone sounded quite confident that this would sound steamy, and sexually seductive! while it doesn't. too bad. Edit (26th June 2018) This is a sweet fragrance, and i believe i will take the "Cloying" out of it cause it's almost sweet (not the candy style sweet) with that sweet sugary liquor in a passion fruit flavor. I can't detect any peaches and if there are any then it's hidden underneath the sugary lemonade daiquiri cocktail. The sandalwood is still not there so as the ambergris. It's a fair fragrance to be honest but not that sexy and it's still, what you see sexy isn't other's standards of sexy, mine is the animalic note that makes a fragrance sexy while i believe Simone's kind of sexy is the sweet note. it's a fair fragrance, not bad thou.

I have the Parfum Intense version and am putting the review here as I cant see the pic for the Parfum Intense. I am a woman and this is what I experienced. Very sophisticated and smells expensive. I tried this in WINTER. One must be chic for this. This is not another flower or fruity scent you get a dime a dozen. After the fruity explosion that opens like Kirke (!!) lasting about 5 minutes, oh my it turns sexy/steamy and after 10 minutes there is a slight quick bubblegum scent which reminds me of Poison perfume then it quickly turns smoother then loud again and its still very very strong after 3 1/2 hours. This is strong. I suggest that it sprayed on the clothes if you dont want it strong on the skin. There is no Head and Shoulders shampoo vibes on me (in fact far from it !), but yes, I must agree with another post that it does scream like someone wants sex and cant control himself/herself. This is unisex but could become more stronger in the heat of summer which can be sexier on others. I prefer this in winter. Everyone has his own preference for seasons. I'll dress up very chic in this and apply a little (it stays for hours). One of my secret weapons.

I purchased a decant of this fragrance from Scentsplit just to smell it. I did not look at Fragrantica before buying it... I was just exploring several fragrances from Simone Andreoli buy blind-buying samples (as one who is obsessed with fragrance does). On first sniff, I thought for sure that Scentsplit mislabeled the decant because I immediately KNEW that it was Erba Pura. I have that fragrance. I tested it for months before I purchased it. I’ve worn it several times. But now that I see that others have also said Don’t Ask Me Permission reminds them of Erba Pura, I don’t believe Scentsplit mislabeled my decant. 🤣 I would definitely not purchase this if you have Erba Pura. No need for both. It’s lovely though.

This perfume open with a punchy spice note. I thought it was black pepper but then I saw the notes and it wasn't listed there. The opening is nothing like Erba Pura. Instead this is Erba Pura's older more sophisticated sister. However, they are very similar in the drydown as the spicy boozy opening fades and the fruit notes become the centerpiece. Great value for money! This is eternal, I could still smell it on my hair and clothes the next dqy. As always, Simone Andreoli is amazing in making niche but easy to wear fragrances.

Strong lime upon first spritz. The sweet orange emerged shortly after, along with a pleasantly salty passion fruit. This is certainly unisex although pulls slightly more masculine IMO. I definitely get the “explicit sensual energy” coming from the amber note that Simone Andreoli referred to in his fragrance description...It kinda smells like getting down and dirty beside a tropical cocktail. That amber projects like crazy on me. ANYWAY - I’m sure many will love it - it’s just not for me :)

When I read negative reviews about Simone Andreoli fragrances, without any credit for the structure, potency and high quality natural ingredients used in all his compositions I come to a few assumptions. Funny thing is the people leaving the negative reviews have a collection of skin scents all from the most soulless, void of originality dead brands you can find. This fragrance is sexy, strong, complex and much more. if your bad mouthing it your an NPC and that's really the end of it.

Very good perfume like almost all Andreoli, his heavy hand can be felt in all his creations he goes heavy he doesn't have half measures and I like this, having said this the perfume is very fruity sweet and with a very respectable sillage, it reminds me a lot Juicy Flowers by Mancera I have both and I find them very similar, after all Mancera never goes lightly, I find it perfect for spring and summer it makes me happy

The sheer number of reviews here honestly leaves me stunned. This is a fruity, sugary scent — childish. There’s absolutely nothing that could be called artistic about it. It’s not impactful at all; it smells like Fructis shampoo. Are these really the things that work today? Unexplainable. My judgment is completely neutral — which is worse than negative.

I love the citrus and pineapple. It’s very thick and heavy but somehow still summery and tropical. But there’s some funk in there I’m not down with. I think it’s either the white musk or ambergris, I haven’t learned to identify those individually, perhaps I dislike both. Something almost savory food-like, kinda gross. This is a big no for me.

Im my opinion that’s the best version of all of them : Kirkè, Erba Pura, Sospiro Erba Pura Magica and Al Haramain Amber Oud Gold Edition. I love it ! The opening is a bit sharp and fruity but after 5-10 minutes it comes the power of the musk and ambergris but not that sharp and strong as Erba Pura. Somehow more warm and airy.

Banana candy and heavy musk. I can't tell much more than that because it makes me cough a lot. Something about this scent irritates my sinuses a lot and I will have to wash it. Bananas! A sample is more than enough for me.

Does smell like Erba Pura with different fruits except imo a lot better and more natural. No hate to Xerjoff. There's something kind of airy about this one too that I don't get with Erba Pura that I think adds to this.

@scentropolis, the thing you hate about this perfume is that sharp synthetic musk that overshadows all the notes. Don’t wear this stuff in public please. Everyone will have a headache and hate you.

I don’t know what it is about this fragrance, but when I smell THIS, I just wanna straight fuck. And just about any woman who smells this too would feel the exact same way. Just get it.

Like other scents from this brand, are copy-cats of other popular scents. This one is a clone of Erba Pura/Kirke. I would stick to the original for that price Point, thank you.

Definite like! Tropical, sweet, boozy, undertone of ambergris that lassssttsss! Reminds me of Erba Pura but not quite as sweet and less expensive. Worth a try.

This is a exact dupe of Erba Pura, Kirke but mostly exactly like Al Haramaine Gold Edition I will pass on this because I already have Kirke and Al Haramaine😊

Nice opening but it`s Head&Shoulders after 10 minutes. Tested on cold weather.

Smells like Moschino Toy 2 on me. Very long lasting (unfortunately).

Xerjoff Erba Pura... It's a no from me.
