Glaze Ecstasy

Glaze Ecstacy Vs Buontalenti Glaze Ecstacy (GE) comes off smoother, better blended while Buontalenti (BT) is sharper with a fruity burst in the opening, this lasts about a minute then it calms down a bit. GE comes across as a creamy vanilla and strawberry ice cream swirl (think soft serve) with a strawberry glaze on top. For some reason I do not get the raspberry listed in the notes for both of these, it comes off as strawberries on me). BT is more like a frosty— still has ice cream but has about equal amounts of ice cream and fruits, so the fruitiness is front and center— the most prominent notes on me being the (straw)berry and a hint of banana (very faint), and later in the development, apricot. It also reminds me of those chewy vanilla-strawberry candies. As they dry down, the vanilla becomes even more prominent in GE and then the caramel becomes noticeable, while the fruits in BT calm down to where you get about 50:50 vanilla to fruits, the caramel note in this one is a tad artificial-smelling. I will say these two are very similar. GE is the more sophisticated/grown-up version of the two. BT is more playful, a little ‘younger’ if you will. Ingredients-wise, GE comes across as having been made with better quality ingredients while BT has a slightly artificial quality— I think it’s the banana note, if you’ve ever had banana flavored pastries vs homemade pastries made with real bananas, you know that weird artificial banana taste, now think of that as a fragrance. Thankfully the berries and apricot keep this somewhat muted in BT. I can see myself wearing BT during the day and transitioning to GE in the evening (for a cuddle session with SO), not that GE would be classified as a night-time perfume- both are better suited to daytime use but GE would fit more intimate settings. Do you honestly truly NEED both? No. But if you’re one to catch subtle nuances in fragrances you will be able to tell the difference in both. I am glad to have both.

I hate to say it, but I love her. I thought the notes would be interesting enough to try but not captivating enough to love, but I was sadly wrong. She lasts on clothes for days, smells beautifully and uniquely sweet in such a subtle but enchanting way, and the only thing I hate is how hard it is to find and buy. I've never spent more than $90 on a perfume, travel sizes and decants all the way, but I struggle to see myself being able to settle for just a decant at around $60 for 5 ml. The similarity to Buontalenti is vaguely there. Buontalenti is too rich with coconut and too coastal almost, and the notes are just a clash of each other arguing of who sits up front. Glaze Ecstasy is BEAUTIFUL. It begins with this very jammy, slightly juicy apricot that could be just as nice on its own, and simmers down into a slightly creamy, gently fruity, soft but feminine fragrance. I think the custard note is what smooths things out and keeps the fruit at an admirable sweetness, not very juicy nor sugary, but more like fruit dipped in whipped cream. It is not lactonic or anything of the sort, but it has the essence of something similar to whipped cream.

(Reviewing the Dapper version) This is 97% PdF Buontalenti (daytime, summer) on the opening spray. Afterwards, when sniffed on skin, it smells like a doughnut & was disgusting up close. But in the air, this projects like nobody’s business and smells like a strong Buontalenti —gorgeous! I call it “Buontalenti Extrait” now. I heard the performance was poor for the actual version. This Dapper version is worth it and lasts forever. I’ll be buying their biggest bottle to wear nighttime, winter.

I blind bought this one and, I have to be honest, I had immediate regret when I went to purchase. Just because I had never smelled it and I was worried it would be too cloying and I am so delighted that I was wrong. This is delicious!!! It's sweet, well blended and not too cloying. The dry down is that caramel apricot and is just oh so intoxicating. I don't want to use it all up because it's a hard one to get, but this is in my new top 5!

I see that people are comparing it to Buonatlenti, but I haven't tried this one yet. I feel this scent is delicious, unique and sort of addictive. At times it smells weird to me, I can't explain it, but it is still irresistible. A very unusual blend, nothing I've ever tried before. Definitely worth a try! EDIT: Finally tried Buontalenti. Yes, it smells almost identical, but I prefer GE.

Absolute compliment getter from men and women! This is one I’ll always have in my collection. Buontalenti is very similar but it’s not as smooth or well blended. It’s like the little sister that steals the big sisters things because she wants to be just like her when she grows up.

Mmm, smells like a bowl of creamy berry gelato drizzled with warm caramel but you've randomly sat an opened jar of homemade apricot preserves nearby. Surprisingly not sticky sweet once it settles. Probably the best berry gourmand I've laid my nose on.

It is a nice, uplifting, sweet, creamy and juicy fruity scent. Perfect for a gourmand lover. I have heard it has some musk in it and I was afraid to try it because musk can be very stinky on me/to me. But this was not the case, no unpleasant muskiness to be detected here. It is a lot like Buontalenti by Profumo di Firenze, actually, I can barely tell the difference! Tried them side by side the next day. They are not identical, but I would struggle to tell which one is which. Both are sweet, delicious, fruity with vanilla and laconic candy sweet treats. If I really had to try, I would say Buontalenti is slightly dirtier and Glaze Ecstasy a bit cleaner, brighter and perhaps a touch sweeter. Also Glaze Ecstasy has slightly better lasting power, although it does not have as superior performance as i.e. Leisure in Paradise.

Citrusy raspberry fragrance, not super sweet with just a touch of vanilla. The sillage et projection are moderate, aswell as the longevity (4h-5h). Will perfectly suit anyone who's looking for a soft gourmand that's not too sweet for the summer.

I really wanted to like this scent but the dry down smells like baby vomit. Not pure baby vomit, just a nuance but it's still a bit off putting to me. I love that initial burst of raspberry in the beginning, it's tangy but thats pretty much it because it lasts 5 minutes on me. The dry down reminds me of Blanche Bête Les Liquides Imaginaires which also does have a baby vomit nuance similar yet a little stronger than Glaze Ecstasy.

Sweet and fruity, then soapy, then generic. The custard element is beautiful, ruined by florals. I regret blind buying this decant.

Good enough to eat. I'm getting the rich vanilla custard and caramel most prominently by far. The fruits are more subtle to my nose, but they are there and it smells great, like a creamy dessert. I think I might like it even more if the raspberry and/or apricot were punched up a tiny bit more, but I still liked it enough to buy the Andromeda's Moon clone after my first 5 ml. I like that it's solidly gourmand but not too cloying/heavy/sticky like some can be, which can be headache inducing. It feels like a summary dessert, with cool custard and fruit, caramel drizzle, so I don't think it's out of place in warm weather like some heavier gourmands can be. I would wear it any time of year when I want to smell sweet and girly but a little decadent. I often prefer frags that have more contrast, but this is pure dessert. Still, it works, it gives you that "mmm" feeling when you smell it.

Oh dear Heavens, the opening of this fragrance is so beautiful! It's a mouth-watering apricot/raspberry jam.. tart and sweet! I can see how it can be interpreted as artificial by some, but I am not bothered by any artificialness.. Very very sadly, though, as the custard comes through, the perfume goes quite sour :( I wish the opening lasted a lot longer!

I never ever like to write that a perfume is similar to another perfume but here i just guarantee this is 99% buontalenti. It is very nice, fresh, sweet and girly but not in a cheap way at least for me but you absolutely do not need both. If they were twins they would come from one egg- if you know what i mean 😸

Opens little sharper than I'd like to and powdery (I prefer Buontalenti's opening), but in 15 minutes - oh, it's so beautiful! It's close to Buontalenti, but they are not similar to the point that they if you have one, the other is redundant.

Baby doll sweetness and synthetic everything else. Does not rise above a fragrance oil intended for soap usage on me. Very cheap and sweet. The packaging looks so amazing, but this doesn't deserve that kind of beautiful presentation.

Opens slightly alcoholic but then the vanilla cream emerges with the apricot jam. I’ve only just received this, so will update on projection etc.
