Compared with the original Eau du Soir, the 2025 version keeps the classic floral chypre structure but feels brighter, with more emphasis on the layering of florals. The opening is grapefruit and mandarin, giving a citrus-peel character. Pepper appears only lightly in the top notes, sharpening the edges of the citrus without taking attention away from it. In the heart, jasmine, rose, ylang-ylang, lily of the valley, and lilac unfold almost simultaneously. The effect isn’t sweet or powdery. Instead, the different floral notes seem to appear on the same plane, without a clear hierarchy. Juniper and clove add a clean, slightly aromatic edge, while iris smooths the transitions so the florals blend without clashing. In the drydown, moss and resins give the scent a subtle gray-green structure. The amber adds a touch of warmth without becoming heavy, and the overall impression is one of polished elegance. The composition is very clearly structured, a well-crafted classic fragrance.
