New Radio

This is registering so unusual to me, and I love it. I've tried it several times now and I cannot, for the life of me, single out a grass or lemonade note. It must be very minimal, or I am incapable of picking them out. Lol. But they must be there, contributing to the oddness of this perfume. Maraschino cherry milkshake GALORE, however. Waffle cone? Check. Something about it smells like static off of hot plastic, or maybe the Radio reference is jacking with my mind. Either way, this is a favorite behind Bad Reputation and Bruise Violet. Sixteen92 is my first venture into indie perfumery (they're also *very* local to me, yay!), and I don't know why, at this point, I've been so hooked on out-of-reach niche ($$$) and designer perfumes. I think I'll be scouting out indie perfumers from now on and dabble minimally in designer or niche offerings.

I discovered 1692 in Dec 2023, and I've done eight orders which have all been amazing. This was purchased in 6ml oil because I was intrigued, but not sure how grass would be, and I'm over fruity scents. (lmao) The oil upon receiving it was just OK. Very basic. Sweet, fruit notes, vanilla. Ok. But indie oils BLOOM as they settle and age after shipping and NEW RADIO is a FAVE! (Aged about 1-2 mo) I have a 10 ml pen parfum in my hands now. The oil has AMAZING potency on me when worn all day. I draw hearts on my chest/sternum before work. All the stages of this scent are accurate and fun! In my experience, the notes listed go in that order when wearing. And this dries down to a green vanilla (maybe patchy vanilla). I absolutely love this. It's tart cherry/pink lemonade but vanilla ice cream and fresh cut grass. LOVE!

Love this. Strong notes of maraschino cherry and lemonade. Super summery, it’s like drinking cherry punch with a lemon on the sugared rim of the glass. Slight creaminess for the strawberry milkshake note. Can’t wait to wear this obsessively in summer but unfortunately I bought this in winter lol.

I love New Radio. It's a youthful, summery scent. Sweet, yet nuanced enough that it's not too sweet. Love the grass note. This smells like your eating a lemon ice cream in a waffle cone, on a warm summer day sitting on the grass. I have a full size bottle of this.

This is so cute and I love it. i’m a huge grass girl and the grass note is very well done. it cuts through the creamy sweetness of the cherries and milkshake notes really nicely. pairs very well with a bit of rose absolute to soften the sweetness even more.

Smells exactly like a vanilla milkshake with a couple maraschino cherries on top!! The waffle cone and pink lemonade are also very prominent.

Sixteen92 is doing a revamp to streamline operations and reduce lead times (I waited three months for my first order and it seems this isn't unusual), and are discontinuing some formats and retiring some fragrances altogether. New Radio is one that's going into archive and the notes sounded amazing, especially as I've been exploring cherry scents the last couple of years. I love the oil rollerball format (being discontinued) so I ordered. I got it faster than my previous two orders and I'll admit I couldn't wait to let this settle and tried it straight outta my mailbox. It's a spunky, sweet cherry with green notes and citrus to brighten it up for spring and summer use and keep it from causing a toothache. I can't wait to see what it turns into as it matures. I love the theme and kitsch of Sixteen92, Claire Baxter is a Texan (like me), and Halloween is my favorite holiday. The frag descriptions make me smile, with their referenced song lyrics and movie/TV show quotes. The website is really fun to browse bc she describes her perfumes in the abstract (frozen marshmallow, fog, spectral musk, mahogany chairs, antique books, ghost whispers, tarot card spreads....you get the idea). I'm not a goth girl by any means and many of her frags are spring and summer themed also (largely anchored in angsty pop culture) but the nostalgia invoked by so many of her designs (not to mention the quality) has me hooked. This brand is well-worth the exploration.
