Garden Party

Imagine eating sweet coconut macaroons on a perfect breezy spring day under almond trees in flower. You're sitting on a pastel-patchwork quilt passed down to you by your great grandmother, wearing a white cotton lawn sundress, songbirds are flitting to and fro, the sky is a deep azure blue with big puffy cumulus clouds floating by. Later you're meeting up with the girls, and stopping by the boutique garden center on your way home to pick up a potted cyclamen, which you'll set on your kitchen windowsill next to a sparkling pink depression ware pitcher of sun tea. That's Garden Party and I really, really hope Skylar makes this available in a full-size. It's a unicorn -- the first almond-based fragrance that hasn't dried down to play dough on my skin. Garden Party is sweet but not in a juvenile "body spray" way. The floral notes are white but light and this coconut is very airy and spring-like -- the parallel opposite of TF Soleil Blanc's dense, oily jasmine coconut. Longevity is great, 6+ hours for me. Garden Party is also lacking the Musk T note that runs throughout many Skylar scents, so if that DNA is something you find overwhelming or repetitive, give this a try. Very interesting and delightful take.

This is a pleasant, light, sweet, nutty, floral scent. I really enjoy it. I have a similar issue with this scent as I do with another Skylar scent (boardwalk delight), in the sense that it does not stick to me. I can’t get any longevity out of it. It’s a shame because it’s a really pleasant, lightly floral, but still sweet and a bit creamy scent that I would love to have last on me.

This smells like a floral coconut macaroon! Almost exactly like the pastry! This is a really nice coconut that doesn’t smell like sunscreen. I don’t smell any kiwi, but if you want to smell like a dessert, this is perfect!

Very light and sweet. Like another reviewer said: dainty. Garden Party is soft, both conceptually and in projection. I'm not impressed, but could see this being someone's everyday scent. I'm pretty ambivalent towards it to be honest. Note wise: The kiwi pulls through on me. So do the florals. I wish the marzipan and macaron was more present, because I struggle to detect them. I barely get the vanilla. The coconut is not strong, but becomes prominent on my skin. Coconut always gives me sunscreen vibes. It's very rare for a fragrance to use coconut and it not make me immediately think of the beach. A shame because I like all the other notes on the list.

This is a very delicate almond/coconut perfume reminiscent of scented dolls that disappears almost instantly. I rolled it all over my arms wondering if it would build the more I wore, but no. It seems pretty pointless as a fragrance, considering its longevity, and isn’t something I think anyone would reach for as a bedtime scent. Nothing from this brand has impressed me so far, I think maybe my expectations are too high for these independent brands.

Very light scent, doesn’t last super long nor does it project far. It’s nice and lightly sweet... not overpowering in any section of floral or sweet. Very dainty and subtle...

This is the first perfume I've tried from Skylar. I can't smell the kiwi or any florals per say but generally get a powdery coconut and vanilla macaroon vibe. Something in there seems to irritate my throat and it never seems to go away throughout the 3 or so hours this perfume lingers on me. I wouldn't say this perfume smells cheap but neither would I say it smells expensive. Personally I think it would make a better bath and body shower gel and fragrance mist scent. I hate the rollerball. It let's out so much fragrance.

I shelved this for a long time, mainly due to my chagrin toward rollerballs. Today I decided to pop it into a spray bottle (which is easy) and just peeled off the label sticker onto the sprayer - easy peasy! This is like almond blossom, but with a more floral tilt and some coconut creaminess. I love it. In a word: fluffy. Season: spring. Perfect for lovers of sweet florals. Longevity is average and on par with Skylar's usual formulations, around 4 hours. I'm pleased!

Finished this one recently. I'm convinced that Skylar uses all their decent scents for their scent club, which are still rollerballs after so many years of people complaining. Their core scents are totally underwhelming too, aside from Boardwalk Delight and Vanilla Sky. [I used to be on their PR list]

A beautiful, airy coconut-bakery type scent. This is very light and perfect for days when you don’t want a loud scent but still want to smell sweet. This scent is also extremely different and interesting in my opinion.

Skylar needs to start putting sprayers on these 10ML bottles and not rollerballs. I want to spray this all over my clothes. It's delicious layered with Velvet Tonka by BDK

Skylar NEEDS to make this into a full size. I absolutely love it it smells exactly like a coconut macaron with almonds. It's also light and airy. Love this!!

With all these notes I still can't really smell much. It's subtle and peppery.
