Lime Sands

Yup, this sure is "lime" and "sands"! In all seriousness though, I'm surprised how taken I am with this. I like these beachy type of scent profiles well enough, but not enough to want to own one myself... Falling Into The Sea by Imaginary Authors came close but I used up my sample and ultimately decided to pass. This, however... while not being the solution to finding my holy-grail "dream" lime fragrance, is VERY nice. The lime and verbena offer a very fresh, watery-aquatic (NOT saltwater - I personally actually get very little saltiness from this!) take on a beach/tropical scent. I don't specifically recognize this as having lime nor verbena but it gives me the same olfactory sensation of smelling something mouthwateringly juicy, zesty and fresh as I would with citrus. Coconut water is also an apt distinction to make because there's coconut there, but on the subtler side. I also don't specifically recognize lily or orange blossom here but there's a hazy sense of white flowers to give it that typical sunlotion-y vibe. I get the vanilla towards the tail-end which takes it in a bit of a gourmand direction which is a surprisingly nice switch up! The sweetness of the lime and/or verbena is still there so it vaguely resembles key lime pie. YUM! Wearing this makes me feel like I'm relaxing in an uber luxurious cabana at some ritzy beachside resort. Silage is moderate but remains so for a good 4-5h which is impressive! I applied 9 hours ago and it's still there faintly, but I've been mostly indoors today which could factor into it. Literally the only thing holding me back from a purchase is Skylar will only send rollerballs to the UK, and I just don't think they perform the same as a regular perfume... I might still take the chance, IDK... if you have easy access to the brand I definitely recommend checking this one out. Will certainly be treasuring the sample I have! Edit: well over 24 hours later I can still faintly smell the verbena on my skin. Wow!

Lime and Coconut water are definitely how this opens. And it might be clever marketing, but I really do think I can pick up a sand note. If I really concentrate on it, I think it’s the mixture of the driftwood and musk that does it, but I’m not sure. The verbena is even noticeable right away. For those of those keeping track at home, might notice that these are a lot of the same notes for Coconut, Lime, Verbena from BBW. And it does kind of have that vibe. Even leans a touch lotiony. But this one is a bit more ‘sandy’/woody, a little bit more aquatic/fresher, and a touch sweeter. But still, the similarities are noticeable. The dry down comes somewhat quickly and settles mostly into that sandy/driftwood type of vibe. Edit: On a second wearing, when I wasn't trying to concentrate and analyze it as much, it kind of smelled like a fruit loops flavored bubblegum. Sweet, candied fruits and citrus and a little lactonic. That appeals to me, but it might not to others, so I decided to include it.

I always liked BBW Coconut Lime Verbena but it never smelt good on me. Seeing the note list now I understand why. It had a lot of notes that don’t work the best with my chemistry, especially that black currant. Lime Sands is a winner for me. Exactly what I was looking for. It has all the notes that work for me and it smells amazing. I don’t get any cleaner vibes. Just a clean but sensual musky lime coconut. Soft, simple and clean. I like soft, simple and clean. If lily of the valley works with your chemistry the way it does for me and all the other notes work for you too then I highly recommend lime sands. Love it. Edit; Just finishing up my bottle. I see the recent reviews and I think chemistry plays a major role with this fragrance. Got my bottle at a heavy discount 2nd hand. Would definitely repurchase but not sure about at full price.

I found this in my local Sephora and I instantly bought it. It was an instant like for me. On initial spray, you really get that lime and salt. It smells kind of like a margarita but then it changes on my skin when it completely dries down. It turns into this clean musky scent that kind of reminds me of like clean laundry. It gives me that feeling of hand washing my clothes and then hanging them outside to dry and the wind is blowing the scent of the laundry soap I used all around in the air. It's super fresh and clean and think this will be a perfect summer scent.

Straight up lime & salt, that's all I get with this... but somehow it works for me. I'm not sure if it's a skin chemistry thing bc straight out of the bottle I always second guess if I like it or not, but as soon as it hits my skin it's magic. I will say after hours of wear it does have a candle-ish background scent to it. This is a perfume that I would recommend trying first.

Love it. It was an immediate like for me. Gourmand, sweet, light, bright lime. Youthful and vibrant, not a masculine type of lime. When I smell this scent, I envision a warm summer day by a swimming pool with plastic inflatables or a theme park. One of more unique scents I've tested this year. I wish the scent was available in a travel spray.

This is one of my absolute favorite perfumes of all time. It's nothing crazy; I just love the lime scent. Doesn't smell like a kitchen cleaner to me. It smells so fresh and beachy, but not too incredibly salty. It's a sweet zesty perfume. It's like key lime filling. Add Vanilla Sky for the crush and you have the whole pie!

It was a love at first sniff for me. This was the first Skylar perfume that I tried and it did not disappoint. To me, it is a true lime with a little bit of other edible herbs, perhaps sage, or basil. The composition reminds me of a bright sunny day at the seaside, fresh, clean, and carefree.

This is one of my favorites for summer. I love lime and to me this is a perfect lime vanilla scent. It's not harsh, it doesn't smell like any type of cleaning product to me. Just very summery, clean, reminds me of a refreshing sprite.

It’s a very clean and tart lime scent. I do kinda get the citrus soap/cleaning product smell, but that might actually be why I like it lol

lime + salt it’s fantastic i love it so much (layer it with sea salt coast by bath and bodywork’s, thank me later)

In one year I blew through a bottle and I will blow through another one. Best lime fragrance. 💚

I received a “lift and smell” card in my last Skylar order and applied it to my arm. I’m sure it’s not the same as a spritz from an actual bottle, but I’m getting the essence of the scent on my skin, which is what I wanted. Uhhh yeah, it’s nice! It’s not exactly a new scent experience, but there’s a few things that make it stand out from a crowd. First .. lime! I feel like it’s very underused (at least as a star note) in perfumery, and I always forget how much I enjoy it in a fragrance. And second.. I love how reined in this is .. Lime Sands definitely has that salty-floral-coconut water thing going on, but it is so refreshing to finally find one that isn’t aggressive. If Beach Walk or Alien Goddess slapped you in the face and/or got on your nerves, try this. I already have a lime fragrance I enjoy (Victoria’s Secret Eau So Party) and don’t feel the need to add another to my collection, but this is nice pick if you’re looking for this type of scent.

I wouldn’t say this smells like Bath & Body Works’ Coconut Lime Verbena, but this DOES smell like coconut+lime+verbena. I’m not a fan of coconut in fragrances (would rather have the real thing from the tree in our yard), but fortunately the coconut doesn’t show up until later on. The opening is very lime + verbena forward. I’m a huge fan of verbena and this certainly delivers. The lime note also doesn’t smell like it’s rotting on me, which is a problem I sometimes have with lime notes in perfumes. This is very sweet on me; by dry down all I really get is lime, coconut, and vanilla. I wish this had more salt and wood to balance it out. With the name Lime “Sands,” I expect more beach and less tropical drink from this fragrance.

One of the handful of citrusy perfumes I enjoy. For me this really captures the idea of sand. Not the literal scent of it but just a very evocative interpretation. It feels like I'm laying somewhere on a wild beach while sipping on a mojito cocktail. The opening is much sweeter and gives lemon candy but it dissipates. The projection is not crazy but I catch whiffs of it myself consistently for a couple of hours. It's the kind of fragrance you wear for yourself to lift your mood up. Not sure I'll be upgrading to a full bottle but I love having the travel size to carry with me.

It smells nice. I don’t get cleaning spray vibes but it does have a softer lime scent, like the scent of lime zest, not the scent of a really juicy, fruity, tart lime. The lime is nice but it is like if you dug your nail into the peel of the lime, not like a tart-sweet limeade. I also smell a lot of the coconut water. If you made a margarita with coconut water and just a few lime slices that is accurate. It’s a simple scent, fun for summer, won’t overwhelm in hot weather. Longevity is not good, it lasted maybe three hours on me.

It smells just like the notes to me: lime, verbena, coconut water, salt. Like a lime cocktail with a salt rim- very summery and refreshing, with a unisex feel. To me it's the best and most unique out of the Skylar discovery set. The longevity is also decent for something with this much citrus.

The opening is giving cleaning products a little but the dry down is nice— and strong! Reminds me a lot of Isla Sirena from ELLIS. That one is more complex but doesn’t last on skin. This one is stronger and longer lasting but lacks the banana note.

Im confused why this one has such poor reviews. This does smell like lime, but it also it sweet, creamy, & coconutty. This perfume is wonderful & inoffensive. Probably my favorite from Skylar & Perfect for summer.

It’s a soft lime salt ocean air scent. Holding well in 101 degree desert heat. Pretty much a mint Julip mixed with a margarita.

Very Bright, citrusy, fresh, zesty, tart, refreshing, happy, and slightly beachy. This opens with a very bright and tart lime scent... it’s almost the only thing that I pick up right in the immediate opening. Soon after I also get some sea salt and verbena, but the lime is still the strongest. As it starts to dry down I notice some coconut water. I only pink up on just a hint of the floral notes. I do get just a subtle scent of the driftwood, musk, and vanilla once the fragrance has dried down. I don’t pick on any type of cleaning supply citrus like scent from this. To me, Lime Sands is reminiscent of a salt rimed margarita, but with a bit of an underlying beachy scent. Personally, this isn’t really my style of fragrance. However, I am a bit curious how this would smell layered with other Skylar fragrances I have, especially like Vanilla Sky. If you’re a fan of lime and/or citrus fragrances you might like this one though, it’s worth trying if that’s your thing. I get good performance with Lime Sands. The longevity is decent, about 6-7 hours on me. The projection is nice, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me. For reference, I own and like several other Skylar fragrances: Boardwalk Delight, Vanilla Sky, and Caramel Alps. I am still feeling out how I really feel about a few other new ones... Sweet Morningside, Bare Skin, and Fall Cashmere. So far I’m enjoying the first 2, but I’m still undecided about Fall Cashmere... I’m thinking that I’ll probably enjoy it in the cooler fall weather as opposed to the July heat. I also want to mention that I am a really huge fan of beachy fragrances, but I tend to prefer more coconut and sunscreen-y types as opposed to citruses.

This opens with a strong burst of lime. As I’m smelling it, I’m picking up whiffs of lemony cleaner and something warm and pleasant. As the initial blast of lime begins to fade, the verbena really shines. It reminds me of coconut lime verbena from Bath and Body Works. Verbena really dominates many fragrances that contain it. I don’t really dislike it, but I’d expect this fragrance from a cheap body spray, body wash, hand soap, etc. In the deep dry down, it differs from other Skylar scents I've tried in that it is not that sweet dry down many seem to have. It's drier and does remind me of sun shining on sand. I like it more than other Skylar scents because of this but that's not saying much because this line has been disappointing. The projection is weak after the opening and it lasts maybe 4-5 hours on my skin but I have to smell it very close.

Nooooooo. :( I really wanted to love this one, but it dries down to Mrs. Meyer’s Lemon Verbena dish soap. Don’t get me wrong; I love Mrs. Meyers, but I don’t want to smell like cleaner all day long. I have a 10ml rollerball, but I will skip buying a full bottle. I would consider buying a candle of this, but then again, I could just buy Mrs. M’s lemon verbena candle. Or really any citrus candle at TJ Maxx. It’s not a very original scent blend.

It’s definitely lime and sands. I appreciate the sweet lime blast and the salt, with the coconut more in the background in a kind of sunscreen scent way. However this just doesn’t seem like a perfume scent, it makes me think of shower gel or hand soap. It has a slightly artificial tinge to it, maybe that’s what makes it just meh to me.

very cheap smelling lime and salt. the only thing keeping this from smelling like straight up dishwash soap is the salt, which still doesn't elevate it beyond that. i have a limeade hand soap from bath and body works that smells 10x better and lasts just as long on the skin if that tells you anything. overall rating: 🩷🩷💔🖤🖤 2.5/5

Not a fan of the sharp opening, but the dry-down is actually quite nice and creamy. I would probably prefer this as a spray and not the rollerball I have, but for $5, I can't really complain. Will likely give it away to a sibling since the scent profile isn't really for me.

I really want to like this but I’m getting lemon pledge furniture polish. Then it dries down pleasantly *almost* key lime pie but unfortunately so light I wondered if my samples are defective. Only a trace is left of a lime scent like a body wash would leave.

There’s something about the coconut in this fragrance that smells so synthetic and I don’t like it. I was hoping it would smell like coconut lime verbena by bath and body works.... But no.

Upon initial spray it immediately smells like cleaning product. I smell the coconut as well which gives it a certain "fullness" but not enough to save the scent as a whole.

It smells like lime, the beach, and sunscreen. It's quite summery. I thought it was kind of nice, but not really for me.

Wish I could smell what the other reviewers can pick up but to me all I smell is Palmolive dish soap mixed with sprite.

This smells like citrus windex... I’m not sure if I hate that or love it.

I was really excited about this perfume, but it just didn't live up to my expectations. The scent pulls much more strongly vanilla on my skin than I had expected. Rather than getting a beachy lime, I am getting a key lime pie that just doesn't do it for my tastes. Additionally, I find the projection and longevity to be pretty poor for the price. This fades into a skin scent on me within a couple hours maximum. I feel like this fragrance was hyped up online but just doesn't live up to that hype. That being said, I'm sure many would love the scent, but I would not recommend it for anyone who strongly dislikes vanilla or gourmand fragrances, as you might be disappointed. I'm clearly not the intended audience for this perfume, though.

I got the tester of this scent with a broken nozzle which is annoying. Wanted to try for some variety. The straight up is coconut, lime and driftwood. The other notes are very subtle. The dry down is vanilla and soap feeling. I'd call it a cocktail and since i use lysol pretty much often it is not even close it with its original smell. Honestly, I'd never buy it again cause it is quite bold and not my cup of tea, not the mix that i usually like and sillage is only smelled up close Also, I forgot to mention that it's likely to cause allergic reaction. Be careful Was not worth buying

First spray? Straight up Lysol. How dare some of you compare this to coconut lime verbena. The heresy. Too much lime, not enough coconut. I wanted to like it, but unfortunately it is way too kitchen cleaner-esque for me. Not loving the dry down either. It reminds me of the lime and sea salt smell from the method cleaning products. Which, is my favorite scent from them, but im not wearing it on my body. Hard pass.

All I get out of this is straight Palmolive dish soap. I do adore the Boardwalk Delight, Vanilla Sky and Coconut Cove scents from Skylar but not any others. I do highly recommend their candles if you are looking for an all natural candle that actually smells like something and not just burning wick.

Hideous. Initial spray, I get bright zesty citrus with a splash of coconut. Very refreshing and delicious. Then in literal seconds it turns to a disgusting mess. Smells like dirty dish water. Soapy murky water with food chunks in it. HATE.

This opens up so fresh and beautiful with that fresh squeezed lime scent and sea salt. But the dry down on my skin smells terrible. Almost like rotten milk/conconut. I blind bought this and will absolutely be returning.

Not the most offensive Skylar fragrance I've tried but it definitely smells like vomit after a while, and that seems to be the case with a lot of Skylar scents. You'd genuinely be better off with drugstore body spray.

From the way people described this online i thought this was gonna be a salty lime, creamy coconut and vanilla scent. But i just get cleaning product :/

Have you ever gone to a Yankee Candle store to smell all the summer fragrances, until at some point they all start to smell alike, in a sort of sickly-sweet-waxy-mess sort of way? ....yeah. That's what this smelled like on me.

Citrus toilet bowl cleaner meets spearmint gum from the gas station. Absolutely repulsive.

The longer it sits on my skin the more it smells like citrus bathroom cleaner.

I honestly love this one, but only because I got it for $40! To me this is summer in a bottle: it is citrusy and soft, with a bit of a freshness from the salt and coconut water. I can see how someone might find it “waxy” but to my nose it comes off as smooth and creamy (but NOT in the laconic or coconut milk sense). Delicious. Maybe a hint of the memory of sunscreen, but really this is a fresh, limey summer smell that has a tiny tiny touch of sweetness that I adore. Would never pay $100 for it, so I’ll be sad when I use this bottle up! Layered great with a gardenia scent I had a sample of from Wit & West. For nose calibration reference, perfumes I also like are: Red Dakota (Dedcool), Reflect (GoodHabit), Vanilla Grapefruit (lavanilla), Pink Canyon (Skylar)

This is the perfect citrus for me. It smells like a fresh coconut and lime soft drink drunk on an Indonesian beach. Your skin is salty from swimming in the sea and you’re surrounded by the comforting scent of your favourite sunscreen. It's somehow incredibly nostalgic. When I close my eyes I see small me with my grandma - sunbathing by the shore.

Unfortunately, this smells like throwing up a mojito or perhaps a margarita. Now that I’ve seen other people say this smells like dish soap, I can detect that as well, especially in the dry down. I’ve liked most Skylar scents I’ve tried, but this one is not great. Def not a safe blind buy.
