Gaugain-Tuan

Gaugain-Tuan is an orgy of shortbread biscuit, sweet vanilla cream filling, a little bit lemon cheesecake’s lemon-ness, really discreet chocolate and nuts combined (think those Ferrero chocolates) smell and a dash of floral undertone. Firstly it gives me a really similar feel to Black Orchid, in the slightly moist, watery biscuit way; but then the scent is more similar to Bois Vanilla in the nice slightly dry and sweet, really sweet woody-vanilla fashion. Gaugain-Tuan goes quite linear from here, just more ‘cuddly’ because it gets more warmed up on the skin, and slightly more vanilla-y, and I start to get more used to it. Personally I love the smell and wouldn’t mind if I smell it all the time since I have a really sweet tooth. However, it is really gourmand and foody, somewhat it doesn’t smell like the conversional gourmand perfumes, and some honest suggestions from my friends told me that Gaugain-Tuan is too close to real sweet food and I should avoid wearing it in a normal amount in the public, otherwise it might make me smell as if someone smashed a big gourmand cake on me. With regards to the discription here, I don't find it a creamy tropical escape, to me, Gaugain-Tuan is more like a real sweet approach, a TM's Angel in its simplified version and takes the edible food part, and amplifies it, then it is this Gaugain-Tuan.

OH EM GEE !! this is delightful. I agree with the previous commenters. creamy vanilla, tea biscuit, shortbread... caramel... exactly as the notes are stated. I love sweet fragrances. I'm curious to see how long this one lasts on my skin. The Tiare flower is there too, I just caught it! It has now taken over the creamy vanilla-caramel. The sandalwood is subtle, just how I like it... more of an accent off of which the other notes are framed. Wow, I REALLY like this one.

what happens to me,i don't like the new fragrances with sugar ,an more sugar ,but curiosity kills the cat: i try this one ,(in oil version)....poua,candy is back ,i'm in the film "charly and the chocolaterie".....but ,times is passing....my skin seems so quite and sweet,"caramel" go back and i can smell just a little touch of tiare flower mixed with a beautiful ,sunny vanilla;ok .......i'm in love.honey ;)

Up close, I smell vanilla and caramel. On me, it becomes a sandalwood bomb. My coworker from 10 feet away asked me if I was wearing sandalwood. She said that she liked it because it reminded her of the incense that her grandparents (in India) used to burn. Another coworker chimed in that he assumed that my Asian in-laws must be burning incense in my house all day and I absorbed the smell. The first coworker implored me not to stop using it but I did because I don’t want to smell like incense from far away. The scent became my guilty pleasure. I love sandalwood and this remains in my top 2 sandalwood fragrances. I enjoy it more than Le Labo, for sure.

Mmmmm! Yummy, buttery, sweet shortbread with a hint of caramel, vanilla, and citrus. Just delicious! This is definitely a more sophisicated gourmand, and it's quite nice. As the shortbread starts to fade, the flowers emerge and it's quite nice because they are not overpowering. For someone who dislikes strong florals, I find this one a winner :) I don't think it's full bottle worthy, but I am very much in love with my sample and I would consider buying a small decant.
