The Yard Next Door

Reminds me of a lawn that just got mowed and watered.

Gosh! what a dense almost suffocating smell of decaying plants. Almost a swamp! And it lasts forever! Too strange for me!

This is FUNKY...but in a fun, floral way. At first it smells like propolis, and the water inside a vase, plus something grassy. It's almost off-putting, but for some reason I keep smelling it anyway After a minute or so I also get clover blossoms and something sweet, like a very ripe melon. If it wasn't such a "wet" scent, it would almost be sticky. That's how sweet it starts off. But as it dries down it gets...well, drier. Even a little powdery, but still smelling lightly of honey and far away flowers. I really like this. The final stage, at least. I don't think I would feel comfortable spraying and walking immediately out the door. It definitely needs a few minutes to settle after it's weirdly "organic" start. But for me, at least, it's literally only *a few* minutes, and then it's just pleasantly dirty.

Green, sweet, and floral. It could be outdoor air on a warm night. Blossoms on the breeze, a bit of freshness in there. Not aggressive, mainstream designer fragrance "fresh" but actual night air fresh. The sweetness sometimes seems to be a subtle vanilla one, but then goes back to floral. Almost like the scent of clover from a field in the country but not quite that divine. My small sprayer was purchased in 2015 and has evaporated a bit in storage, and I tested it by dabbing from the bottle. The opening was off-putting but it settled down within a minute.

Hooray for Frankensmellie pages! Oh my heavens, The Yard Next Door - is glorious. A damp, shrubby, living green. A thick green, nothing sharp, no flowers in this yard. My mother smells cucumber. I need to own this. A coworker liked it so much she pressed her face into my arm and it rubbed off on her nose (she keeps telling me she smells it). Oh, and it lasts. Love.
