Smoke

LOVE this fragrance from Smoke Perfume Co. It's exactly what it says it is, plus I detect on my skin a little of what smells like a supporting role from magnolia, gardenia, wet fern, and a light white musk. It's a very bright, happy, uplifting, medicinal, herbal, wet, green citrus floral. It reminds me of Florida Water and 4711 Jasmine EDC's but much longer lasting with incredible sillage for me, even when compared to ALL of my EDPs. The vetiver in it is very grounding. This fragrance also really does remind me of what the creator was trying to evoke with it. It's a wet humid but cool, quiet early foggy morning in the French Quarter. I'm having my morning coffee on a wrought iron balcony of a brightly colored row-house with sun bleached shutters, and baskets of hanging wet ferns, and dampened hanging white florals, sweetened by sweet-grass and incense from a local botanica, and delicate true to nature gardenias below, magnolia trees wafting through the air, joining me in my moment to greet the Sun. The city has not yet awakened to the day, but the energy and spirit of New Orleans is already alive in it's purest form. It's the complete polar opposite of the night. It's a misty wet air of New Orleans in Spring. This isn't a Bourbon St. New Orleans. This is the best aspects of the "pretty" smells of New Orleans, an idea, a fantastically imagined New Orleans of an older era. It's the Garden District and Jackson Square in a bottle. Trust me, I was there! It's before the smoke and the boozy aromas have risen on the damp air, only showcasing the saintly, rather than the sinful indulgences LOL. This fragrance is near to a spiritual experience. However, if you're in the market for the "sinful" side, Night Cloud sounds incredible and was a fragrance literally made for going out.... or staying in and just being brood-y. I can definitely see this being a very adaptive fragrance, appropriately unisex. I can't imagine this being offensive or too heavy even with a heavy handed application. It's one that's delicate and stays fresh and beautiful no matter how much or little you apply without being over powering or non-existent. I can truly smell this as being expertly blended to adapt to literally anyone's body chemistry even if they don't normally love the notes stated it contains. Something about it while smelling very "wet spring", is earthy enough to be perfect imo for all seasons and all occasions. The owner also wrote the sweetest card with words of encouragement that was very much needed at the time of opening! It reminds me of a blend of Florida Water, Wind Song, and Anoranza. Not individually, but the most obvious notes in each together. It's hard to pin this one to one comparison as it is quite the shapeshifter. It's simple, yet it has incredible depth.

Like the sun bursting through a hazy cool day, this warms and invigorates, but doesn't overwhelm. It's the perfect renewing breath of cool and calm, brightening like a new day and relaxing as a warm sunset. White florals certainly spring forward first. Predominantly jasmine, and perhaps some magnolia with some green earth and fragrant fruits. No wood note is mentioned, but its presence can be felt; along with an intriguing smokiness. Since it's entirely botanic, there's no hazy chemical drydown; no buzzing, jarring synthetic element. Smoke is sheer nature. And it blossoms into something juicier and warmer as it wears. Unfortunately, my skin emphasizes the earthiness; this time magnifying the dirty undertones of the jasmine. It also created a bit of an ammonia resonance, so I had to let this one go. But its opening citrus greens are lovely and its staying power impressive.

This smells exactly like Aveda’s men’s cologne. Very herbal and fresh. Very nice!
