Burning Bridges

Burning Bridges is a lovely warm scent. It works well with your natural scent and yet radiates as well. It is a comforting vanilla tobacco and has lighter notes to bring out that contrast. I enjoy the purchasing process as well. The sample size you receive is enough to test for 5-7 days. Would recommend this product and this company.

the dry down of this one weirdly reminds me of orpheon from diptyque for some reasons

The opening was like menthol, as if a fougere was cut with gasoline, and I really liked it, even though it leaned masculine, then the dry down is more powdery iris-vanilla, but I still smell a slight minty quality which makes it still feel a bit refreshing to me, but it is a contrast and a journey for sure. Definitely scratches that itch for me of gasoline type scents like Fahrenheit and Cuir Vertigo, but perhaps it's only my nose.

Surprisingly candy-like, sugary-sweet opening. To me, it shares some similarities to Nishane's Hundred Silent Ways (the candy-like aspects) & Fan Your Flames (the spices). Then the florals come in but the spices keep it from leaning feminine, and the floral notes feel powdery, thick, syrupy(?). I think it's down-the-middle unisex. As with some other Snif frags, the bang-for-buck is very good.

This scent is..... odd. I don't dislike it, but I also don't really like it? The initial spray is such a unique scent- think of cold rain on a spring day, river rocks, wet soil, walking over an old wooden bridge. Fresh rain under crisp leaves and wet earth. Then it changes suddenly into a sweet smoky vanilla with notes of tar and gasoline. Then the smoke takes over and I smell like the outside of a pit stop in the middle of nowhere, fuel, cigarettes, dust and dirt. And a weird nauseating sweetness in the background. It's strange, animalic, dirty, and sweet all at the same time. Notes are sharp and cloying at first. I get whiffs of it throughout the day and each time it smells different. I think I really like the initial spray, wet ozonic fresh earth, with a touch of sweetness, but then it just takes me on a roller-coaster of emotions in which I black out and don't remember much from a few seconds ago. Strange. Odd. Not a safe blind buy.

I agree, this skews very powdery. The opening was kind of interesting with its smokiness but ultimately it felt too synthetic. It was a bit more interesting on my boyfriend and I could almost smell a touch of ambergris. Also, it lasted forever on both of us.

When I smelled this I was a bit disappointed... It smells very powdery and almost reminds me of baby cream. By no means does this scent come off as bold to me. The sillage and longevity are also very poor on me :/

Really unsure of this one, I really disliked the opening, but on the dry down I kinda like the smokey-vanilla. Probably not worth it.

I should have listened to the reviews on here- it doesn't seem like it is too well-liked, but the notes were right up my alley. It was discounted on the last chance page and I had FOMO so I bought it. Sure enough, it is strange. At first it smells like a powdery doll head, then transforms into hairspray. I then thought of the Shower to Shower powder in the blue bottle that my family had when I was growing up. It's been decades since I smelled that powder, so I don't know how similar they really are, but I remember it as fresh and slightly floral. Burning Bridges is not a baby powder or an old fashioned makeup, but fresher. Looking at the notes, I am only getting maybe a little bit of iris and a whisper of freesia? I'm a big fan of tobacco and oakmoss, and love unisex scents that combine traditionally masculine notes with feminine ones, rather than stick to "gender neutral" notes, but sadly I do not get any tobacco and zero oakmoss. The name doesn't fit this at all IMO. Thankfully, this isn't too heavy of a scent, so I will be able to layer my full bottle of this with other fragrances to add a powdery note so as not to waste it.

Pure powdery iris on me. First blast is a bright cloud of powder with maybe something sweeter in there. Not quite vanilla though. It's cold and almost juicy, like having fruit for sweets on a diet instead of the vanilla baked goods that you'd prefer. There's no tobacco. If I imagined hard, I might be able to discern the remains of a outdoor fire that burned itself out, but it's only a phantom scent. Unfortunately the powder cloud masks everything else underneath. It takes too long to dissipate and makes it a very flat scent on my skin. Reminds me of Bijou Romantique -- unfortunately the same bright flatness that feels 2D and stale with my skin chemistry.

I can’t stand the purchasing process + the lack of samples or discovery sets with this brand. Also the smug tone of their marketing and names, I find rather off-putting. (& the fragrances have weak performance.). The bottles are cute, but I can’t get over the other issues and poor longevity. I would reconsider if they improve. I prefer Snif Strawberry Moon to this fragrance. I obviously disagree with the reviewer who likes their process. I much rather pay for a discovery set.

It's the scent of a baking cake emanating from a smoky cabin whilst wandering through a field of wildflowers in the woods. The drydown moves you closer to the building as the cake finishes. Heavy vanilla that lasts and lasts. There are lots of vanilla based fragrances. This one is a stand out with its interesting twist into the tobacco. A great date night spritz for a night out with a cowboy.

A journey from an astringent, expressive iris blend to an oversweet vanilla bomb to a surprisingly tobacco-heavy drydown. I don't get "smoking a cig" so much as the scent when you open a bag of loose tobacco and inhale. Either way there's a somewhat synthetic Yankee-Candle-all-grown-up aspect and I think that's too bad.

This smells bitter and rotten to me. I think maybe tobacco notes just aren’t for me.

I grabbed a full bottle of this blindly from the notes/reviews and it's on Last Chance/Clearance for cheap. I also put on the sample blindly before work thinking it couldn't go wrong. It's not wrong exactly, but not a people/work scent. I smell weird, lmao. The tobacco is a cigarette smoker, not sweet or wet. The iris and earth just sit with the smoker. Once and awhile vanilla comes in to check it out, but then nopes out. Odd. I don't regret the wear because the sillage/potency is meh/average so I know I'm safe. And the air around me has more vanilla than my up-close. I'm always down for something I've not smelled before, but not a work/people/day scent, unless you are a guy. This comes off as masculine too. On that note, I'm trying/wearing Strawberry Moon later, lmao. (Nope, it's not getting better, in 4 hours the mail comes with my StrawMoon and Vanilla Vice. I plan on putting some VV on this ASAP.)

I’ve purchased almost all of the Snif perfume line. I got Burning Bridges as a sample since there was a delay with my shipment. I tried it first on a test strip and thought it was very nice. It really reminded me of something from my past, but I couldn’t quite recall what scent. Fast forward a few days and I tried the travel size on my wrists/hand. It’s really beautiful! To me it’s sweet, smoky, and a little powdery. And then I remembered what it reminds me of!!! My mom has used Youth Dew powder for decades! She’s elderly now, and I help her with showering so I know that scent well. Burning Bridges is like her powder if you softened up the edges and added a touch of sweetness. I know I’ll love wearing this perfume for years to come, and I know it’ll bring up wonderful memories of my mom in the future.

Going in blind, it smells very powdery licorice-y sweet with citrus and lavender. The opening reminds me of cabotine grès and kinda does have the same herbal chrysanthemum-oakmoss spiciness, plus watery flowers feel, but still too sweet for me. Inoffensive and uplifting yet sweet (but not heavy). I have plenty of oakmoss, iris, and vanilla, tobacco scents that I enjoy way more. I’m not offended by it but I don’t particularly like it. Definitely open to selling the full bottle I blind bought since I also have a 10ml, dm me if you want the 30ml! I paid $30. Edit 2/15/26: Grape soda and rootbeer. Horrible on my skin chemistry, all I get is something that is both dusty and scratchy, and incredibly synthetic.

I like this. The opening gives a smoky, spicy vanilla note, very sweet, then is more woody, then you get iris and powdery touches, almost like old fashioned makeup powder. It has a tad of moss and floral notes...what an interesting scent! It feels modern and retro at the same time! love the multilayered development! If it has nasty ambroxan I don't get much of it...which is good. I like this a lot. Very well done. I will finish my sample and likely will order a full bottle.

Discontinuing this is dirty work. I love this scent so much. On my skin it comes off so smoky and beautiful, I couldn't believe it. Just bought a bottle because I am terrified I won't get to smell it again. Please god bring my sweet prince back to me.

Darnit. Nothing at all like I thought it would be by the notes. I’m getting Esprit d’ Oscar again; powdery, peppery iris, creamy florals, tart green notes. It’s okay but it’s very powdery. I am not a fan of powder.
