Hot Cakes

My first Snif bundle (came with the whipped cream), and I’m loving it! For the price point, it can’t be beat, and though I can’t remember the last time I ate pancakes or anything similar, the smell hits that sugary maple syrup without being too sweet or too thick, it’s just right. Granted, these are edt, so my expectations on it lasting for a while isn’t strong but for the price, I’d def think it’s FB worthy esp since they are now on sale for the moment. It is a bit confusing though as i start to think the smaller versions are edt vs the larger sizes, which are thr same, which I say is confusing as when they are in bundles like the one I got which was just this and whipped cream, that scent is described as a body spray. Either way I am so loving this esp for fall. Not a date night sent but a hanging out doing random stuff scent. Also got the tanning slash since im a sucker for sunscreen scents but haven’t smelled it yet. Love the whipped cream tho, its not as u iwuenas this but I think I’d wear whipped cream a lot so think ill need another bottle while its still on sale. Very pleased and impressed. Next one will either be coco shimmy, vanilla vibes, or sweet ash. Can’t decide if I should buy full sizes of them all or but the smaller version which includes tart deco which doesn’t seem up my alley but it includes the other 3, so small version wise, it’s cheaper to buy that, but feel like I’m either gonna love vanilla shimmy or use it as a room refresher, think I’ll like coco shimmy more since it’s supposed to be more beachy. Oh well gotta try them all and then some. Saw they did a collab w Lenvain bakery in their site but as much as I love a good cookie and dark chocolate, I do not fancy chocolate or coffee for that matter in my scents. I’d try crumb couture if I hadn’t read that it had so much blueberry, not my thing. Great blind buy.

Photorealistic fresh pancakes, fresh off the griddle, DOUSED in some butter-flavored pancake syrup (not natural maple; think Mrs. Butterworth's). I can taste it vividly when I smell this. I swear, you can just FEEL the thick syrup oozing out of fluffy pancakes as you bite in. To emphasize how edible this is: smelling it on my wrist is making my brain feel like it should be sticky. It's like I just devoured some IHOP pancakes so quickly, I got some syrup on myself in the process. Downright scrumptious. I find it strange that this was released right as winter comes to a close... This is such a perfect, warm gourmand for the cold months. It feels a bit *too* sweet and thick for the warm days approaching. I'll definitely be getting a full size to hang onto, though; as a fan of hyper-realistic gourmands, this is incredible. I could bathe in this. In all honesty, Snif doesn't usually excite me too much. But this did. Edit: I'm seeing a lot of comparisons to Crumb Couture, and while I get where people are coming from (sweet, buttery), there was something about Crumb Couture that I strongly disliked. Too much of that butter note, which ended up smelling gross on me, unfortunately. This works far better with my skin chemistry. The buttery goodness is still there, but it's not as prominent. If you don't like Crumb Couture, but you like the concept, this might be for you! Don't let the comparisons scare you off!

This smells so much like actual pancakes and syrup that it is truly bizarre. Not like pancakes and *perfume*, but like actual pancakes and syrup. The first time I sprayed it at Ulta I was flabbergasted, like who on earth wants to smell like pancakes all day??? And then I couldn't stop sniffing myself. And I realized... it's me. I'm the one that wants to smell like pancakes all day. I promptly ordered the full size online. This perfume is maple syrup that lasts for HOURS. Buttery baked goods linger underneath, but the syrup is the star of the show. There is just a touch of fruitiness that keeps it from smelling too cloying, but she is sugary sticky GOURMAND. The most edible-smelling scent ever. My favorite is when it's about 3-4 hours old, and it melts into your skin and leaves behind this maple syrup musky sweetness. I'm obsessed. I adore this perfume. Is it weird? Yes, absolutely. Is it delicious? 100%. I love the way it clings to my skin and clothes, I can smell it on my jacket sleeves for literal days after I wear it.

Ahhh!!! I've been looking forward to smelling this for at least a month! I'm so happy to report that, YES, this smells EXACTLY like pancakes! This is not at all a serious perfume to me...it's in the class of experimental fragrances, and hyper-real things that are fun to wear. But it's incredibly well-constructed. You get most of the alleged notes. Most obviously here is an underlying sticky syrup. Truly maple syrup as we know it. It's also realistically pancakes, replete with a bready quality. It's soft too...not orris soft, or sandalwood soft, but it's sweetly, sugary-soft with a creamy drydown. Absolutely as advertised. I'm really impressed. Do I want a bottle? Not exactly, but it's delicious and so perfectly pancake-y in every sense (I hoped it would be good, but I didn't anticipate it actually being this awesome)! Just try it even if you're slightly curious, it's a fun one. 🥞 🍁 🥛

Well, everyone has said it! IHOP just sat your buttery pancakes down in front of you & you are pouring on the syrup. I LOVE IT! I have to disagree with the likeness to Crumb Couture, I sent that back, after a blind buy that came with a test sample. EWWW. I also have the Kyse one, it's a cousin, but it's not Hot Cakes. SO realistic, it's amazing how they did that! I had one spray on & could smell it for hours, very unusual for a perfume like this. Great job, SNIF! After the Crumb Couture fail, I wasn't blind buying from them again. Went to Ulta, smelled it & snatched it up SO FAST. No need to wonder what this smells like. You KNOW this smell. I also bought the Berry Styles Body Mist, YUMMMY! Those are the only 2 that have impressed me.

I was really worried about this one because I was scared it would be TOO sweet. Like, Sticky Dates is a fragrance that’s is super sickly sweet and sugary to my nose, and for some reason I though this would be like that. Someone said it smells like McDonald’s syrup, and it lowkey kind of does but I don’t hate it for some reason 🤣 This smells like buttery, syrupy pancakes. I agree it’s more pancake forward and if that’s something you’re interested in, I would totally recommend this. I’ve also had it on for a few hours (on dry skin) and I thankfully can still smell it. Definitely not too sweet, just right; very very soft and comforting. I’m sure this would go insane with their Extra Whip mist (which also smells amazing!)

I originally got a tiny sample of this - and thought it was too familiar to Crumb couture, however they're similar but very different. Hot cakes is the one to buy. It has great longevity, and lots of silage, I always get asked "why do I smell like pancakes or cookies" haha it's my fragrance! I really love layering this one as well. I recently grabbed Ellis Brooklyn's Queens Caramel too and I took it back for a travel spray because it reminded me of Hot cakes as well but not as good. For the price hot cakes really is the better deal. Yummy, lasts long, and its fun to layer with other like minded cozy gourmands, one of the better releases from SNIF for sure!

If you don’t like super sweet scents, stay faaaar away from this perfume! It’s a very photorealistic pancakes and syrup fragrance that even captures the light breadyness of the pancakes. I would say it’s the least wearable of the collection as it’s pretty foodie, but I think it can still be pulled off in most casual environments and especially in the colder months. It has moderate sillage and lasts all day AND MORE. I sometimes even smell remnants of it on my skin after a shower, a night’s rest, AND a day of work. It’s pretty similar to Kyse Douceur Brulee which is just missing the hint of pancakes andI find is actually a bit more buttery than Hot Cakes.

Perfume is so subjective so I can only speak on how it comes off on me, but I absolutely love this perfume😍 It smells exactly like what the notes suggest. I was extremely surprised by how wearable this perfume is. I was thinking it was going to be too sickly sweet and dense to wear on a regular basis and that it would just stay on my shelf as a novelty perfume. But I feel like Snif balances this perfume out perfectly 🤗 For me, the buttery pancakes fizzled out around the 3-4 hour mark and then I was left with a sweet maple that lasted the rest of the whole day. This perfume definitely exceeded my expectations.

So photorealistic that it's hard to wear in regular daily life - like I absolutely love Hot Cakes but don't wear it often. When I do it's on days that I'm home with my baby or before bed. Comforting and sweet. When I apply before bed I can still smell it in the morning so longevity is great. The maple syrup and butter notes are the stars of the show, I pick up on the bready pancake note but I don't get any musk or buttermilk. Also not sure how this is being compared to Crumb Couture, they're totally different - CC is very much a berry croissant and much more "perfumey" than Hot Cakes

OH MY GODDDD! Nosegasm I tell you! This has that lovely baseline that crumb couture has (my favorite scent ever) and OMG ITS ADDICTIVE!! Now there is this lovely maple syrup note and a spongy crumbiness that has me going back for more! This is decadent, fluffy pancakes with rich maple syrup on top and a fat pat of butter on it. God I love butter notes! This is so wonderfully creamy and sweet in the beginning, but the dry down is a tad synthetic, but that’s to be expected. Not as good as it’s predecessor, but pretty fantastic all the same.

mcdonalds breakfast pancakes, but specifically the kind they make when the president goes to mcdonalds. like they definitely put butter on it and made it specially, maybe broke out the nicer syrup, but also its still distinctly mcdonalds hot cakes in a good way. syrup comes first, its thick and sugary and slightly buttery and underneath are slightly maple hot cakes but theyre drenched in it. obama has a picture eating these. big big thumbs up. mmmmmm

As others have said before me... you really have to want to smell like pancakes with syrup. I see people talking about this across platforms and complaining it's too sweet or syrup-y - girl I don't know what you expected. She is what she says she is. VERY true to listed notes. It does fade into a soft musk after a few hours, so it would require a re-apply if you want the scent all day. I layer it with a vanilla. Truly a cool/cold weather perfume.

i love this perfume and all the layering mists!! it’s so fun and it makes me happy! finally a fun, cute, and original idea. if you don’t like the smell of syrup don’t even bother trying this lol. but i think it’s worth smelling bc it’s so unique. i prefer to layer with with berry styles, i like the tart juicy combo with the super sweet gourmand, it smells exactly like buttered, syrupy pancakes with boysenberry on top 🥞🫐

such a beautiful photorealistic scent. warm pancakes with a pad of butter and sweet maple syrup. i don't get much of the musk note, even on the dry down. it stays sweet and almost sticky smelling. i can imagine it would be amazing layer with any vanilla or berry scents. a fruity layering combo would probably cut the sweetness of the maple note. overall super sweet and cozy and beautiful. 9/10.

I like this a lot!! It’s quite sweet and warm, however not as sweet as I was expecting (which is a good thing!). This would be quite nice to wear in the fall and I think I will save it for that season. My only complaint is that I wish the syrup note was more of a realistic maple syrup note instead of the “fake” stuff if that makes sense. If you are fan of gourmands I think you’d like this! 🥞🍁

This perfume truly encapsulates a perfect Sunday morning for me: pancakes on the stove, butter and maple syrup glistening in the sunspot on the breakfast table. It is magical to me, especially how nostalgic the fragrance makes me feel. I, now, religiously wear this every Sunday morning and leave a trail of breakfast goodness around me.

I love this!! It’s dead on walking past a bed and breakfast after everyone has started eating their pancakes with all the butter and Aunt Jemima syrup! It’s not maple like natural but like the store bought generic scent. Although it taste like the stickiest food it’s not super cloying after dry down. Doesn’t feel super heavy.

Got this for xmas and IMMEDIATELY put it on bc i was SO excited about it and it lvoed up to the hype for me. VERY maple-heavy at first but after an hour or 2 ot mellows down to the buttery sugary scent that is like. mouthwatering. For me, it lasted 6-7ish hours. Literally pancakes in a bottle im in love

photorealistic syrupy buttery pancake. layered with berry styles, this is the perfect sweet breakfast perfume. always get compliments when i wear this! sometimes, the initial spray is a little sour? smoky maybe? but the dry down is delicious and it lasts all day, although it does not project very far.

This is a stack of pancakes with the artificial maple syrup, a pat of butter..all eaten in a breakfast nook snuggled up with a blanket spritzed with a sweet vanilla musk. It is not 100% hyper realistic, but it is a firm 8.5 out of 10 real olfactory experience. For the price point, it is perfect.

I don't understand how people are complaining that a perfume called "hot cakes" smells like pancakes & syrup...? It smells exactly like pancakes & I fully understood that when I purchased it. It smells lovely & lasts longer than most of their other fragrances. Y'all are strange lol.

I’ve only smelled it on paper, but I like what I smell. Sweet and nostalgic! I will update my review some day! Edit: It lasts a long time, but not sure if I’d buy it, but would be happy if it was gifted to me. I think it would be great for layering to make florals more gourmand.

I really enjoyed this fragrance although on me it smells almost mature? Not a sickly sweet maple vanilla pancake more like a warm stack of pancakes enjoyed in a wood cabin in a far away woods, nestled up in cashmere blankets. It encapsulates warmth I really enjoy this yeth!!!!!

This is just a very fun scent that makes me happy when I smell it! It most definitely is a photo realistic pancake perfume, I would describe the syrupy and butter aspects to be the most prominent. It layers great with many of the other gourmand perfumes from Snif as well.

I got a travel size and immediately had to buy a full bottle. This is a true gourmand and you WILL smell like maple syrup smothered pancakes. Longevity could be better for the price, but I find myself reaching for this before bed so I justified a full bottle

Buttery, delicious and heavy on the maple syrup. Smells just like pancakes! I like it more than I expected first impression wise. It projects and lasts on the skin, the maple syrup scent more forward. It's very sweet but not the nauseous kind. Love it!

This scent is genuinely amazing. It smells just like pancakes. So realistic! It made me crave iHop, and I don't even really like pancakes lol.. this is also so so good when layered with Snif's body mist "Berry Styles" they are a perfect combination

smells like fresh boba pearls to me. probably the sweetest thing I've ever smelled in my life... of course I love it!!! This is such a realistic caramel scent- I wouldn't say necessarily maple syrup like, more like molasses or tapioca. Delicious!

It smells like pancakes cooked in butter or oil with maple syrup. This is my partners favourite smells, and he says it smells exactly like My Old Dutch (pancake restaurant). It definitely leans pancake more than just cake, which is really nice!

Smells exactly like IHOP’s tres leches pancakes. Leans more caramel than maple syrup IMO. Extremely easy to wear. Very fluffy & muskily sweet, not cloying nor yeasty. If you’re familiar with The Dua Brand, it smells a lot like Sweet Serenade.

It smells like the ihop server just put down my fat ass stack of dulce de leche pancakes 😋😋😋 I dont really like gourmand scents even to smell a lot of the time but I ADORE this unfortunately I still couldnt wear it

This perfume is overly sweet and flirty. It smells like melted/syrupy brown sugar. It's very cloying, but in a good way. I got my bottle a month ago and I'm almost out of it, and I'm thinking of repurchasing it.

Very realistic! Its the best when layered with Rochas Man or New Haarlem or Martin Margiela Coffee Break. My signature and pulls so many compliments mainly from people saying “You smell yummy!”

This is my first Snif edt and I am obsessed! It smells like a fresh stack of pancakes and lasts FOREVER! I will definitely try more from Snif in the future

Despite being a cranky wench about most gourmands (these days I prefer to smell like something ineffably sad, morbid, or tortured), I had a real itch just to test something that reads "pancake" a couple months ago. Lo and behold, a Snif advertisement makes it's way into my feed, and I saw Hot Cakes at an Ulta today. One thing this gets right is photorealism. Damn it smells like a pancake, and for the love of all things holy, it's refreshing to smell a baked-good-adjacent gourmand that isn't assaulting my nose with vanilla at every turn. A little vanilla where it belongs never killed anyone, but am I crazy in thinking that a lot of the more popular, Ulta/Sephora stocked designer or celebrity fragrances just smell like straight up vanilla extract 75% of the time? Maybe it's like when you stop eating fish, everything with fish in it reeks of fish. I think I have whatever that is but with vanilla. It's not listed in the notes on Fragrantica but I feel as though there's a fun top-middle berry compote note that's actually quite forward. It gives it a cool tartness. One of my gripes with the designer/celebrity fragrance gourmands is that every time they're trying to emulate a pastry (dearest Pastry Police, I am indeed aware that a pancake is not a pastry but it's in the same wheelhouse), it gets so swallowed in the butter, sugar, caramel, VANILLA, etc. that it loses any freshness or punch. Most buttered popcorn or pain au chocolat-themed scents could probably be rescued by, I don't know, a bay leaf or something. Or, even better, a gasoline accord. Just a thought. I like this. I'm too brooding and depressed to wear it but it's lack of vanilla immediately puts it leagues above a lot of it's more generic counterparts and divorces it from the Musky Sensual Amber pandemic. Genuinely nothing wrong if you like that category, though. When I smell them on other people they're great, but when I wear them I start having an identity crisis.

I'm really intrigued by the idea of less traditional gourmands, and this one is pretty fun. the snif website lists a berry compote base note, and for me it shows up a lot more than I've seen mentioned. the syrup doesn't come across as a true maple syrup, and that's fine by me- if it were, I'd be a lot less receptive to Hot Cakes as a whole. a lot more wearable than you would probably expect, just as long as you're okay with people saying you smell like breakfast, because this one sticks around. maybe too sweet for me the community pancake breakfast. at 8 AM a nice older woman oversees a table full of stacks of prepared pancakes that were made on the griddle in the kitchen nearby. there's a plaid plastic tablecloth on the table, the table is a bit sticky at this point. toppings are lined up next to the stacks so people can fix their breakfast how they'd like. store brand syrup in a plastic bottle, a butter spread, a blueberry syrup, and some defrosted, albeit frozen berries. you prepare your pancakes and head back to your table that has the same kind of tablecloth stretched over it. you grab your fork and notice your hand is a little sticky now from touching the syrup bottle.

This perfume definitely gives pancakes with the first spray. Imagine a big stack of fluffy pancakes with thick maple syrup drizzled over the top. That’s what it smells like straight out of the bottle. Within minutes though, it settles into the skin and creates a soft musky warmth. I get laconic notes and yeasty notes. It sits heavy on the skin for about an hour. It is very sweet, almost on the verge of nauseating and cloying. The longer it sits, the more developed the fragrance becomes. It settled into a milky vanilla skin note by the 3rd hour and lost all of its initial maple goodness. It remains relatively sweet and creamy throughout the longevity of wear which for me was roughly 6 hours. I don’t think this scent is for everyone, and you have to get over the initial sickly sweetness of it to really appreciate all it has to offer. I do like this but don’t love it. Perfect for lazy days where you’re in pjs all day or maybe even at a brunch in the autumn. It’s not going to be a crowd pleaser but if you give it a chance, you’ll find a fun and delicious perfume that transforms into a delicate and intimate scent.

Smells exactly like a stack of fluffy pancakes with butter and syrup! And not a fancy maple syrup - I'm talking about the plastic squirt bottle from the grocery store. I found it irresistible and charming and had to snag a bottle. I normally like elegant and beautiful scents, but this is so lighthearted and fun. I agree it's a strange scent to release in warm weather because I definitely see this as a fall scent. The longevity is great. I was still catching whiffs of it 6-7 hours later and then it turned into a skin scent that I could smell even the next morning. The dry down smells like caramel and sticky syrup and I'm absolutely loving it! Update: I was a little afraid this would be an impulse purchase that I'd regret, but I just couldn't love it more. Plan to repurchase in case this is limited edition!

this is my very first snif fragrance! it smells very sweet on my skin and is the perfect blend of pancakes and syrup. my coworker told me it smelt like cinnamon buns on me. i completely get why they sold the bundle including the berry styles. this seems like it would go perfectly with a berry/fruity body mist and I cannot wait to try that combo out. also the lasting power...omg, this lasted the entirety of me spraying it on my wrists during my ulta shift, and when i sprayed it on them again before I went to bed, i could still smell it on them still when i woke up. i'll definitely be picking up more snif fragrances if all of them have this strong a lasting power.

Snif Hot Cakes is a fun, novelty gourmand perfume. This fun fragrance has Maple syrup, melted butter, berry compote, buttermilk, pancake accord and sugared musk notes. This scent will not be for everyone. In fact, I think it is just for gourmand perfume lovers, as I don’t see this appealing to the masses. Upon first spray....Yes it is a photo realistic pancake scent. As it dries down and settles, it is pure sugar maple syrup and that to me is the star here. No where do I get a berry compote note. Do I like it - yes. It is great novelty perfume in my collection. Will I buy it again? No.

Finally, a Snif fragrance that I can actually wear. It has that same woody base as their other fragrances, but the sweetness of this one can actually stand up to it! This one doesn’t give me an instant headache in the dry down like their other ones do. Also has more of a berry note at the top than I was expecting but it was still quite nice. I might need to see what I can layer it with to bring out more of the syrup note because it fades just a bit too fast for me and I’m left with mostly just a woody, buttered pancake after 30 minutes.

this is truly the most gourmand scent i own and i adore it. it’s the fragrance equivalent of someone setting a large platter of pancakes in front of you and those pancakes are absolutely drenched in butter and pancake syrup. the longevity surprisingly goes the distance, as i often smell it on myself 12+ hours after initial application, and i also find it pairs well with other vanilla gourmands. i never expected to love this fragrance as much as i do, but i find it’s one of the more fun and attention-getting scents in my collection.

it’s okay! it’s very similar to crumb couture and i do think that one is better and longer lasting. basically imagine crumb couture minus the jammy-ness. hot cakes lacks just a bit of complexity that im use to getting from this brand. that being said, it’s sweet, creamy, buttery, and very very gourmand. obviously lol. but i personally do not get a ton of maple. i think the top notes and the syrup overpower it a bit. i also dont think this is very unisex? but to each their own! 3.85/5

Assaultingly sweet. I like to pair with with any of my gourmand perfumes and it brings a bit more longevity to what I'm wearing that day. I get a lot of compliments from this fragrance, even hit on. You will smell delicious. It's exactly like pancakes and waffles, a bit buttery, maple makes for a heavy note here, and a little bit goes a long way. It reminds me of the song Eat You By Caravan of Thieves, or Cake by Melanie Martinez.

A very realistic pancake fragrance if you ask me. Opens with this fluffy buttery pancake blast. As it drys down you smell the buttermilk and once settled you smell the pancake with syrup. Now the body mist... I wasn’t not a huge fan but I didn’t have high hopes for them anyway. The berry styles was the one I liked most tho especially layered w/ hot cakes. Hot Cakes 8.9/10 Berry styles 7/10 Hazel split 6.5/10 Extra whip 4/10
