Yen

I'm so happy to see my signature scent finally has a page on fragrantica. Yen is obviously inspired by The Witcher's Yennefer of Vengerberg, or more specifically her box of glamarye, magical, lilac-and-gooseberry scented paste she uses to enhance her beauty and draw attention. In perfumery lilac is often interpreted as delicate, pure, innocent, or melanholic. The lilac in Yen however is bold and loud, heady, intoxicating and very sexy. To my surprise the solid perfume at first provides an explosion of projection big enough to fill an office room or to leave a prominent scent trail. The sillage gradually dies down over time and finally the perfume settles into a base of smooth, clean, white musk. I honestly can't sense any gooseberry in it, or any tartness whatsoever and despite what fragrantica is trying to tell me it is not a fruity perfume at all. I can pick out the notes of peony and sweet pea, however they mostly remain in the background, serving to enhance the lilac accord. Yen uses the medium of gel with silica which - once spread out and massaged into the skin - *generally* does not stain. Still, try to remain reasonable with the amount, the balm is tinted yellow after all. After massaging it in with your fingers you should still be able to handle a white tshirt and a stack of documents fairly safely. It does however leave a clearly perceptible film on the skin. Of all perfumes in my collection this one received the most compliments by a mile. I am yet to meet a person that dislikes the scent of Yen. Most importantly, my partner adores it. The body products make for a great gift for the women in your life.
