Meerschaum

umm yeah, yes please. sign me up, every day, all day! this would be it if i was forced to only wear one scent for the rest of my life, or at least a year. much more lively than tobacco & tulle, which is also splendid but with more quietly dark smolder. my boyfriend calls this my antique shop perfume, with a stately old man in the back puffing on a pipe. i don't feel this is an "old" scent, or strictly masculine one, though. i could imagine katharine hepburn enjoying this. it's an unpretentious and fine, rich deep green, and i feel ultra confident and calm when i wear it. it's more of an autumn scent as the reviewer below implied but it's done me well in warmer weather too.

Patchouli is missing from the notes pyramid above. It's an important omission because to me Meerschaum is overall a fabulous patchouli accord. Yes there are other things (most notably chamomile, green tobacco and amber) but the thing that makes this one a favorite of mine is the warm, smoothed out, ambered patchouli note that follows the sweet green tobacco opening. It leaves your skin and surroundings smelling warm and radiant, slightly sepia-toned like Indian Summer. Excellent. Along with Iris Silver Mist, Meerschaum is my favorite scent of the hundreds I’ve tried. High praise.

this is my comforting no-brainer. chamomile wrapped in amber and tobacco. stunning, unisex, and special. my favorite from Liz Zorn , along with femme seudo.

Wow. This is one beautiful tobacco fragrance. It falls between the smoky depth of cigar and the sweetened amber of pipe tobacco, with a fantastic opening of chamomile and spices (I swear I get a little hit of ginger at the very top). The cedar is quietly behind it all with the slightest hint of cumin that gives this a warm, lived-in quality, like a whiff of fine smoke rising off a well-groomed man's skin. The chamomile adds a touch of green and keeps the overall color from getting too dark, but this isn't a green fragrance to me, it runs more toward autumnal ochers and rusts with a wonderful cushion of mosses in the drydown. Only a touch of sweetness throughout, and I can't say I get clear floral notes at any point. Despite all this, Meerschaum wears rather lightly and stays relatively close to my skin, making it a wonderful alternative to many of the darker, more assertive tobaccos out there. Just fantastic.

This perfume reminds me a great deal of Cire Trudon "Ernesto" room spray. It is equally gorgeous.
