Cheirosa '40

Sweet, fruity, vanilla, powdery, warm, woody, musky, floral, soft spicy, feminine, sensual, flirty, charming, whimsical, dreamy, delightful, tempting, addictive, inviting, cozy, comforting On me this opens with sweet and juicy plum, and warm amber. The dry down envelopes the top notes in powdery vanilla, sensual woodsy notes, and soft musk. The plum, amber, vanilla, and woodsy notes are the most prominent on me. This is a very easy reach during the fall and winter. It’s suitable for most occasions including work and/or school, but you might want something else for fancy occasions. This is extremely similar to The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods. Since I own both, I sprayed VW in one wrist, and 40 on the other. Here’s how they compare: VW is slightly less fruity, although the pear note is surprisingly similar to the plum note in 40. VW also has a prominent caramel note, and the amber note comes across as somewhat balsamic. 40 comes across as a little more sharp, especially in the opening, and has a more woody dry down. If I had to choose between them, I’d go with Vanilla Woods. Overall, they’re so similar that if you’d want a perfume version of 40, this would be it. I’m a huge fan of SDJ scents! I have all except the 2 newest ones in the permanent line, and most of the LE ones as well. My top 5 faves are Summer é Amor, 62, 39, 40, and 59. My least favorite is 68. No doubt one of the most beautiful perfumes i’ve tried PERIOD. Gosh where do i even start, if you smell it immediately after first spray like usual it may appear alcholic, after you wave your wrists though it’s a sugary sweet dark berry ambergris opening with jasmine (not a fan of ambergris but tolerable and faint here). But as a couple of hours pass you’ll realize it turns into the most creamy delicious vanilla skin scent i’ve smelled and can’t give enough of it!! I will say this perfume definitely gets better the longer it sits on your skin and as the middle and base notes start peaking through, i never thought to buy it in store but my friend bought me the set for my bday (i asked for 62 and was so thankful they didn’t have it) and then i realized it’s one of the best fragrances ever! I will say the matching sdj lotion is actually very ambergris heavy at first which can be a bit much for me but as the lotion sits it gets better, not as worth the perfume tho. So for layering I use either palmers vanilla lotion or EOS strawberry/ vanilla/ champagne lotion, then i go in with golden sands perfume oil, and let me tell you it’s a SHMUPE, but without the ambergris and more caramel yet mature, so cheap too (don’t bother with vanilla woods it smells like my cigarette auntie)! Finally i top it off with valentino DBR (or kayali 28) but ive heard mod vanillas amazing and ive been needing to try!

Might be an unpopular opinion, but this is probably my favorite SDJ scent. It's just nice and soft, juicy and sweet. Nothing groundbreaking, but inoffensive and pleasant. To me what shines are the plum, vanilla, and musk. There's something grounding it so it's not cloying; I think in that regard what I'm getting is a little bit of the jasmine and woods. On the downside, it's pretty weak and my bottle that's about a year old has lost its intensity and smells almost completely like alcohol. Initially I was very confused with the comparisons to 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods and Ariana Grande Mod Vanilla, but I see what people are talking about now. I kind of like Vanilla Woods, but that one is less sweet and not really fruity. Mod Vanilla has a similar note with the plum, but is incredibly synthetic and cloying IMO. Not that Cheirosa 40 isn't synthetic, but Mod Vanilla I unfortunately just find to be sickening. ETA: My small bottle of this smells purely of alcohol now, so I got a new 8oz bottle. It barely has ANY scent at all... I don't know if this is how 40 has always smelled and my sense of has changed or if my bottle is bad, but regardless I don't think I can call this my favorite anymore :(

Get ready to be the BEST smelling in the room! ✨ Run don't walk especially if you like warm vanilla or gourmand scents in general but WARNING ⚠️ you’re going to be complimented like crazy! When I tell you this is their BEST fragrance ever OMGGGG (in my humble opinion). And I don’t smell the bitterness or vinegar that some are picking up so you’ll just have to try it to see. I’ve also found when paired with the lotion, it lasts as long as I’d expect it to on me and I feel you can wear it year-round, day-to-night! I literally can't stop smelling myself and it makes me sooooo happy when I have this on! Quick Tip & Trick for longevity: Spray directly onto your paddle brush 2-3 times and allow it to dry down just a tad, then brush through your hair. Your scent trail will be 10x better - thank me later! Other scents that have a similar vibe are: BBW Bonfire Bash & Victoria’s Secret Forbidden Vanilla. Both are discontinued FYI but you may find via resellers. On another note, I hope Sol De Janerio makes this into an Eau de Parfum - if they do I'm getting it ASAP! 😭 I can see it now... Oh this is SO-GOOD! I got it as a recommendation from a Dolce Gabbana expert at a Sephora, and it was so ON POINT for someone who loves D&G Pour Femme as much as I do! He saw me getting a full bottle of Pour Femme (AND for the second time too!) and said "you might like this too". But also suggested I get the mini version to try, in case I'm not ready to invest in the bigger bottle. I loved this SO MUCH, I went back in a month and purchased the gigantic bigger bottle. It might become an all time stable! It smells like an amazing combination of ripe and classy plums, with boozy and woody vanilla. It's not a generic body spray smell. I usually don't use body sprays as I don't like the very elusive nature of them, but this, I'm happy to make an exception. Love the convenience of the smaller bottle too. Definitely a must for those who like plum and vanilla, AND in a classy way. Been using this for almost 2 months at this point. I - LOVE IT!

Ignited my love for a plum scent. The longest lasting mist I’ve smelled ever, I don’t think their other mists are that long lasting (to be fair I haven’t purchased those only this). Now, I know people have different body chemistry to fragrances but as someone who rarely gets that good chemistry with MISTS, this is my one and only (alongside tree hut Moroccan rose). So for a mist in my opinion this IS above average and worth the money but always smell testers first of course. I think it’s perfect for all year round but the scent gives more summer or fall essence. I’m not big on heavily fruity smells BUT this plum paired with the black amber note will promise a succulent scent that I’m now obsessed with. Amazing for a long lasting mist, that can layer amazingly (alongside their #40 cream as well)!

I love this scent so much, it might be tied between this and 59 as my favorite sdj scents. it’s so sweet and yummy but there’s a musky darkness in it that i love so much. I’ve found that the lotion leans a lot more vanilla than the spray imo, i think the spray is really heavy on the fruity and doesn’t give vanilla much until the dry down. I have a small bottle of this rn but after I run out I hope to get the biggie full size one :-) I will say that i don’t really agree that this smells like mod vanilla, but it DEFINITELY smells just like the 7 virtues vanilla woods I do wish that the longevity was better on all sdj sprays, especially for the price. they aren’t even really comparable to similarly priced body sprays like phlur or lush.

For me, this is all plum and vanilla — but I love it! I’m sure I would also love to pick up some of that musk as well but I really only get those two notes. I have this scent in a body scrub, wash, and lotion and I find that if I layer all of them together the scent lasts for DAYS. Yes, plural. I will spray this in the bedroom and my boyfriend will comment on how good it smells from the next room over. I think the sillage and longevity are both pretty good. It’s definitely not for some, it’s very sweet (almost too sweet for me but that plum is doing a lot of heavy lifting because I love fruity notes). I always get compliments when I wear this, and I often smell it on others in public when they pass me.

this is one of my favourite scents ever. it's sweet, fruity and also extremely nostalgic for me. this performs better than most body mists, lasting about 3 hours on my during the summer (which is when i wear it usually, but can work in other seasons as well because of the sweetness!!) but, if you combine it with the matching body lotion and shower gel you'll get a few more hours (about 5 id say) i don't know if ill repurchase a full size quite yet (i got this in a set), but this perfume def sparked my love for plum notes in my future perfumes!! edit: after 2 years of owning this, i still haven't found a better plum perfume. this stays undefeated and now just bought a full size bottle for xmas x

#40 is absolutely delicious on my skin. it smells just like a sweet, playful cherry-candy and i am SHOCKED there is no mention of sweet cherry in the notes. very teenage and youthful. unfortunately, the full-size bottle i had was stolen, but i'd had it for almost three years and it was still half-full. for $40, that's unbelievable. it's easily recognizable and makes a great signature. amazing sillage for a body spray; i originally heard about it from a girl who i could smell it on from across the room. it was so sweet, but not cloyingly so, and holds up incredibly well in the heat. i would also reccommend, as with any fragrance, buying secondhand. it'll save you a lot of money and trouble.

Wonderful fruity vanilla scent! All the notes smell balanced and none overpower the other, although i would say the vanilla is more prominent. it’s not overly tropical, but it’s definitely more of a summer/spring scent to me. it’s not “clean”, but it’s not musky enough to be a winter scent for me. But it definitely has musk. The florals are a gentle sort of sweet, the vanilla isn’t cloying, and the plum gives it a subtle fruity feeling. very fun for summer especially. cassis has never smelled like cat piss to me, and a dupe of a perfume i love has cassis leaves in it too, so honestly if you don’t like that note then this scent might smell awful to you.

It was my first SDJ mist I bought so it holds a special place in my heart. The notes are black amber plum & vanilla woods. It’s a cozy yet fruity scent that somehow makes me feel nostalgic in some way. It just reminds me of sunny warm mornings in the summer, drinking an iced coffee at the cafe, reading a book, and there’s flowers surrounding you while you doze off into your own world. I may add that it’s a little strong on initial spray. I feel like this one lasts longer than 62, but I would still absolutely love a perfume version of this. I really do need to try the bom dia bright cream as well. It’s a unique scent that is great for holidays.

At one point I truly believed that this was the best scent ever created. I’ve since moved on, but honestly not completely, because I’ve realized that I always must have a bottle of this in my house at all times. It’s too good to not be a permanent staple in my collection. I don’t always reach for it anymore, but when I feel like a fresh, fun, sexy scent, I spray this like a dozen times on myself. To me it’s sweet vanilla sugary fruity goodness. It smells fresh and flirty. If I could nominate this as one of the best scent profiles ever created I probably would. It’s unique, I almost find it even hard to fully describe. But it’s just soooo good.

By far my favorite SDJ scent. It's light and airy but has just the right amount of sweetness that makes it very feminine and likable. The fragrance opens up with a sweet and uplifting plum note while wood and vanilla in the base give it a very smooth and sweet dry down. It is also very versatile and is suitable for any season and any time of day. My only complaint is that it barely lasts an hour on my skin. If it lasted longer I would stop the search for my new signature scent but my skin chemistry had other plans. However, if I need something light to spray on after my shower or in the morning for an early class, this is still my go to.

out of the most popular sdj sprays i would say this one has the most abstract, can’t go wrong kinda smell. most of the other ones have very specific scents; 62 is great at first but gets kinda old + too nutty and is very easy to identify on anyone, 68 has that whole baccarat rouge scent profile that’s been replicated so many times at this point, 71 = caramel popcorn, out of those 4 at least, this one is the most versatile and easy to layer as a body spray with other scents. it has an overall friendly fruity scent with a little more depth to it than some of the others. the body wash in this scent is also incredible.

well after about 6 months of owning this, it is not only my favorite SDJ fragrance, but it is my signature scent. this is my every day fragrance. I wear it alone to work, and layer it with whatever else when I’m not at work. it’s just so perfect, it’s the perfect amount of sweet and not too overpowering. it reminds me of a piña colada slurpee, even though there are no piña colada notes in this. sandwiching it between victoria secret’s vanilla dream lotion & ariana grande’s mod vanilla perfume will assist the longevity, while I patiently and delusionally wait for SDJ to release an eau de parfum of this fragrance.

I generally don’t have high expectations of body mists. I pick them up occasionally to carry in my purse and use them to touch up when I’m out of the house. That’s exactly why I originally bought this body mist, back in 2021. It instantly became a staple for me. It definitely doesn’t perform as strong as a perfume, but it performs considerably well for the price point. This is a warm, enchanting, powdery, woodsy, plum fragrance. I think it wears on the skin well and easily layers with other scents. I’d definitely recommend picking this up if you are a fan of sweet, powdery scents.

Why why WHY won't they make this beautiful fragrance into a concentrated eau de parfum???? They only have cheirosa as a perfume...is the company too broke??? Sttes came out with a perfume and it is not exact and leans more black licorice. Dama Bianca and Junoon Noir are close but leans more vanilla powder. Mod Vanilla and Cotton Abyed are the closest dupes but they both have that BR540 DNA mixed in that Cheirosa 40 does not have. I just want a spot on perfume and I feel like the only one who can create that is the company makes Cheirosa 40, SDJ GET ON IT!!!!

This is a juicy plum scent with a base of woods and a hint of vanilla. It smells like a fruity tea, even though tea isn't a note listed on this. While this is a great springtime fragrance, it doesn't last very long (since it is a body mist) but for the price I would consider giving this one a sniff. Overall, I would consider this a pretty safe scent. However, sometimes it has that public restroom smell that a lot of people talk about as wear time increases. Definitely check if the dry down after many hours is compatible with your skin.

I actually like 71 more because I’m a gourmand whore, but 40 is rightfully loved by everyone and you can’t go wrong with it. Beautiful warm amber vanilla laced with slightly caramelized plum 🥹 suits both summer and winter perfectly, can be layered with practically anything, pretty good longevity, just the perfect near-universal body mist. If SDJ 40 has no fans left it means I’m dead. ( also does smell very similar to Mod Vanilla but sweeter and airier, with a stronger wood scent...? I like it more than Mod these days whoops)
