Cosmic

This...is stunningly beautiful! I'm head over heels in love! Thank you for the generous sample, to "you know who"... wow. This is truly on my unicorn list but I imagine that day will never come. It's just too expensive and hard to come by just like the equally divine Stoned... truly one of a kind. Love love!

Very pretty. It definitely has elusive quality of Vol de Nuit - and it does feel like a hommage in a way - but Cosmic is done in a clearly contemporary manner; sweeter, more milky, more powdery - louder pronounced, in general. Yet it manages to keep every of those apects subtle and mysterious enough to make you have your nose glued to your perfumed wrists. Oh, the tenderness and the soft aura of intimacy! Just impossible to grasp. But you still want to know and to inhale it again and again... It's almost like smelling the secret itself. Seductive, feminine, second skin kind of fragrance that blends perfectly with body chemistry creating subtle, but dangerous and highly addictive aroma. A kind of "impossible cosmic beachy fragrance on a perfect Barbarella body". Or something like that ;) Note: this impression is based on a plain sample; haven't seen the fancy bottle, the stardust, or the price tag...

I agree with emily7, this reminds of Vol de Nuit by Guerlain. It is old fashioned, powdery and dry in a positive way. There's also a warmth to it. I definitly like it, but a vintage Vol de Nuit costs less...

I put this on last night to sample. The first ten minutes smelled a lot like Amouage Gold to me...and since I loathed that, I didn't like this one either. I wanted to like it because the bottle is so very cool. I even kept it on to wait for the dry-down, despite complaining for several hours to my boyfriend. He said all he smelled was cinnamon and patchouli. First hour or so was very aldehydic with lots of myrrh, which was a nose-burning combination to me. At one point I thought I detected the scent of blood. At times it was metallic and other times more floral. Cosmic's dry-down was very, very powdery...I found that to be the most pleasant part of this perfume. The next morning I could still smell it on my skin, but the dry-down had turned sour and smelled like burnt sweat. Yuck! At least it has great staying power. I will never buy...definitely not something I want in my collection, regardless of how nifty the bottle is!

strong, old fashioned and unbearable. It is a super shhhtinker in a bottle. It actually smells like some stinky cooking and overbearing perfume. Get this away from me!

Oh and I forgot to mention that I never saw any stardust in it...must be invisible to the naked eye! :)

Ooh, I would want this one just for the bottle alone. (Which in itself could even come in handy if ever you needed to knock a surprise burglar out stone cold :o). (LOL) ... And no, I didn't see any meteor dust either. But then, if it wasn't really super fine, you would probably run the risk of it clogging up the spray mechanism or something. ... Then again, it's all marketing ploy & lure, hey !? (Which worked on me ;o) ~ Mind you, they probably pulverise one or two small meteorites then it gets diluted by hundreds of litres, so ... ~ I wouldn't be too surprised if you only get like one or two microscopic dust particles per bottle, if you lucky. ~ Still, I like the idea ! But, about the actual perfume ? ~ It's a little far too sweet & powder for me. And I have to struggle thru the first few hours, before I can start enjoying it. Then I really quite enjoy the interesting resiny dry-down. (Which lasts for hours & hours !). ... Bottom line : Lovely ~ but only if spending that much doesn't mean you eat zilch for the next couple of weeks (hell, month). ;o)

"Gorgeous Milky-Sweet-Tart Modern Chypre" Cosmic is an absolutely gorgeous modern chypre. It has this fascinating pull between milky sweet and tart. It is very expensive and becoming hard to find, but I do think it's an unusual and quality fragrance. Lyn Harris (of Miller Harris) is the perfumer and I think this is her best work. If you can put aside the aspirational marketing prose and perhaps ignore the bottle (which is truly amazing, by the way) the fragrance itself is just plain awesome. There are so few true modern chypres but this really is a chypre and it's unique. But obviously you must like chypres and classic/retro style scents in order to enjoy Cosmic. I definitely think it's wearable and not especially dated. It leans more sweet earthy and the aldehydes wear off quickly. It's like a kaleidoscope -- layers of swirling aromas that make it interesting getting whiffs all day.

I have a decant of this one and really like it. I find it comforting, though it is not a comfort scent. I first wore it to an all-day conference but I get sweet, powdery, and peachy, but it is not a simple fragrance. I tend to want a perfume rather than just a collection of smells. Although this one is technically a chypre, while Stoned is an oriental, I like both and can see how they are related. If you liked Stoned, this one is worth sampling.

I have had this perfume in my collection for a very long time. It was my first niche fragrance. It changes a lot opening, mid, to dry down. I love it.
