The sample I have for this is quite small, just 0.3ml. Worse, it's of the crazy design that I have form with. Cool Contrast by Otto Kern came in a similar style sample pack, and I lost that on my carpet. It's a flat piece of cardboard. You have to pull up a tab, which exposes the nozzle, and then sprays out the contents when squeezed. As I watched the Cool Contrast contents arc up in the air, and then down on the floor, they looked to be much more than 0.3ml. This sample, S. Oliver For Him, was certainly not 0.3ml. I managed to open it without incident, but a little squeeze only managed to produce a tiny damp patch on my wrist. Still, at least I have it and not the carpet. The smell. Actually quite nice. First sniff can only be described as a generic gent's aftershave. Clean, fresh, green, nothing exciting. Over the course of the next half hour I kept sniffing and it really began to mellow. A slight apple note drifted away and the violet smell became more evident. The dry moss smell stayed but became more rounded with the musk. The tonka bean is very mild, but I know it's there because of that distinctive note you get when tonka is mixed with a musk fragrance. Longevity was about 3 hours, but bear in mind the very small amount I had to work with. For this reason I'll class the sillage as moderate as opposed to weak. With a greater amount I'm sure it would travel further. All in all, nice enough. Just wish I had more.

While out here living in Germany I wanted to get some foreign outfits. While in the store I just had to get their fragrance to match with their gear. This one is alright. I didn't expect much but it definitely has a nice smell to it. Nothing stands out about this but it is nice to have some fragrances that are not what everyone else is wearing.

Really nice smell and quality for a very good price. It is fresh and not overwhelming, a typical fresh "man perfume". I think it is a safe buy for a birthday. In my opinion, it is one of the best men perfumes for this price in the drogerie . I would recommend it for daily use.

Soft, fresh, slightly soapy. Very clean, never sweet. Zero woods or fruit. It is 'for him' but do not expect your typical manly man's fragrance.
