Cellar

I have recently obtained a sample of this fragrance as part of a much larger order...and again am blown away by how amazing and original these fragrances are.....this one, “Cellar” has very quickly climbed very high on my top fragrances list.. not just from Solstice Scents, but everywhere. I think amanda hit the nail on the head when she said “This scent takes me back to my childhood where my family stored their canning in the dirt cellar. A truly captivating scent, that wet stone note is absolutely perfect.” Excellent Review. I do however hold a certain pity for those with the untrained nose....or with dull olfactories whom may never obtain the Nirvana of absolute appreciation for a fragrance. Many tho.....(like our dear friend Amanda) do share my keen sense of smell...and are able to detect subtle nuances in fragrances making it quite exciting and rewarding. I too had a similar childhood experience. Here in the far North-West of New York....Autumn is a large part of the calendar year...and begins basically in mid-late August and continues on until nearly the end of November. As a small child, we would pick the apples and pears off of the trees found in the yard of the estate, and would can some of them, or just grind them up and leave it for the deer to feed on. This scent embodies everything that is Autumn, the thick juicy scent of leaves that have reached the end of their lives, The Earthy scent of Outdoors in Autumn, the damp stone floor of my mother’s basement where the “fruit cellar” was....and the apple-pear accord reaching a very accurate representation of fresh picked ..unwashed skin in-tact tree fruits. Absolutely fantastic Really incredible to be transported back. Even tho my Mother has passed, and the Estate home sold years ago......I in some way feel closer to both of them when I smell this fragrance. Tell me that’s not Majick..... Just go ahead and try. THE VERDICT : MASTERPIECE!!

This scent takes me back to my childhood where my family stored their canning in the dirt cellar. A truly captivating scent, that wet stone note is absolutely perfect. I'm not a fan of fruit scents but this is done perfectly to enhance, not overtake, the blend. It's a fun journey from cool to warm and its my favorite scent to wear hiking.

imagine you smashed a bottle on your stone and dirt cellar floor. that would be this fragrance.

This really does smell like cold, wet stone and fruit. The pear note is insanely accurate. It feels like coming inside from a rainy day in the Pacific Northwest and eating fresh fruit with your rain boots still on your feet. Personally, I didn't love this. The stone note did not work on my skin and it turned into kind of an aquatic air freshener scent. I do know this is a popular scent so I think this is just an issue with skin chemistry.

This is sickly sweet fruit mixed with damp stone, which is exactly what a cellar smells like, but not exactly what I want to smell like. It almost smells like an artificial fruit punch drink, like grape Kool Aid or something. Somewhat headache-inducing. I'm not a fan personally.
