Owl Creek Aleworks

Smells like a malty hazelnut toffee bar. To my nose there was minimal coconut or dates, but the spices definitely come through, they're smooth and sweet. The ice cream adds a creaminess that binds everything together. The dry down is a bready caramel and pumpkin scent. This was one of my favorites!

the best way i can describe it is that it smells like a halloween candle based off of the scent of baked goods, sweet but not too sweet and smells really warm if that makes sense. like it smells really really comforting and then again it isnt overpowering or overly sweet at all. I LOVE THIS

The drydown smells like stroopwaffels! It's not overwhelmingly rich, but it's pleasant and warm, like the smell of freshly baked bread or waffle cones. It doesn't have very good throw from my skin, but since it's available as an EDP, perhaps a spray or two on the clothes would be better.

I do enjoy a nice gourmand (see Jimmy Choo), but while I appreciate this one, it's just not for me. Owl Creek Aleworks does live up to its name - it smells like visiting a brewery in that sweet time between Halloween Thanksgiving. On me, the opening is toffee and oh how I love toffee! I couldn't stop sniffing my wrist for the first 5 minutes. After that, it settles into a malty pumpkin, but more of a realistic pumpkin than the sweetened version we often get in perfumes (and drinks!) While I appreciate that the malt makes this different than most gourmands, which can often be overbearingly sweet, I'm not quite sure that brewery is what I'm going for in my perfume. I would love to smell this upon walking into a bar or even a coffee shop, so maybe it makes a better candle than perfume for me. That being said, I ordered a sample of 6 fragrances from Solstice Scents, and they're all unique and fun! Great company.

Toasty, nutty, malty goodness. Warm bread pudding with caramel drizzle and whipped cream. It's the scent of holiday dreams, rich, sweet, indulgent carbs! The opening is a bit too buttery for me but what follows is delicious. The dates and a touch of spice show up late. Blonde woods ground this gorgeous gourmand. It's so smooth and silky, reminds me of TF Tabacco Vanille but with less spice. This is a lighter, sweeter scent story. Perfectly unisex.
