Cherry Vanilla Amberosia

A beautiful fruity gourmand. Whip cream greeted me first followed by a woody note, maraschino cherry, tonka, ambery vanilla. Im straining to get a citrus note, but that could be from the travel. I diddnt let these rest, so when they do, Ill be back to amend this review if it changes. My first impressions were a little sister to Feve Deliceuse, cousin to Kim Kardashian Cherry Kimoji. A fun, more approachable in warmth and spirit as I feel tonka/cherry creamy sweet combo in Ambrosia is very appealing.The sillage is large and you will be noticed. This is not a shy violet kind of scent. Its rich, deep and sensual. Solstice Scents can be easily layered or worn on their own. Dump the mass market designer houses spitting out mediocre releases and give this independent house a try.

I'm very glad Solstice Scents brought this back for Valentine's day. This is a very soft, ambry, vanilla, cherry perfume. It opens up smelling like lip chap but it goes away after a couple minutes. It has the soft powdery smell that hypnotic poison has, and it's beautiful. This would be a very nice fall/winter scent, so I'm sad that our Canadian winter will be done soon. I know I will find time to wear this gem.

Amber first, followed by cherry and vanilla. The cherry here us really good, rich and not overpowering, and lovely in combination with the other notes but does not last long. Very quickly just amber and vanilla.

Sweet, sweet cherry. Syrupy sweet. Too sweet for me. Wish I could find tart citrus in here to brighten it up but it's more like candied orange peel, which only adds to the sugary sensation. Verrrry gourmand, I might want to taste this but I have no desire to smell it on myself for hours. Still LUV Solstice Scents! They are so fun to test! I thought I would love this but it’s a “like” rather than a “love” for me. I expected something that had a dark cherry scent with some sweet creaminess and amber pairing up with vanilla or supporting the vanilla but to me the amber dominates the composition here. I feel like the cherry supports the amber rather than the amber acting as a setting for the cherry-vanilla combo. I do get the cherry obviously and there is some creaminess but to me it seems like More like creamy amber instead of whipped cream and the vanilla seems almost non-existent to me. Maybe I’m just anosmic to it in this formulation but I usually love their vanilla or marshmallow blend I feel like they really influence and interact with the other main note(s) in a noticeable way - but with this it’s clearly the amber influencing the cherry and the vanilla doesn’t seem to have much of a role or presence. This is on me really - because amber is also right there in the name and what I wanted was a cherry vanilla scent. I wish this has more vanilla and less amber. I like it ok and I think it’s better than Tom Ford’s “Lost Cherry” scent but I am a little underwhelmed if only because this isn’t what I had hoped for in service to my own personal tastes. As with every Solstice Scent though it really is quite well made and it strikes me as being made with good quality ingredients. Obviously I’m a huge fan of the brand and I’ve had many knock it out of the park blind buys with them. I will definitely wear this though - I do like it I just don’t love it quite as much as other Solstices I have tried and loved.
