Conjure

O k. I swear. I’m going to stop prefacing my SS reviews after this. But one last one. I guess the moral of the story is to rest rest rest your perfume oils. I didn’t like this at first. When I first smelled this sample I was like, “ this smells like cookies “. Which is fine. Cookies are great. Cookies are yummy. But I’m a guy and I don’t wanna go around smelling like I’ve been in the kitchen perfecting my chocolate chip recipe all day. Now after about 3 months I’ve worn this the last few days. I love it. It’s dark and mysterious. The vanilla is in the back seat now, dampening the cookie vibe. I smell all of the “ dark and weird occult notes” that the name foreshadows. I get the cauldron smoke , a hint of rose and heavy incense And the vanilla is still there. The hint of cookies is still there. It actually reminds me of CK obsession for men without the citrus and heavy chemicals. Another one that seems fall/winter obvious but can actually be an “anytime” fragrance. I’m kinda thinking that is one of Angela’s things. Making those dark, heavy scents “normal”’and more approachable and more wearable. She’s a genious.

This review is for the EDP (most recent formulation): Conjure is a quintessential fall fragrance for me. It's unique but accessible, striking that balance between sweet and dark. It has a witchy, boho vibe but is also warm and cozy. For me, it's definitely more of a night/weekend scent, not something I'd wear to work. Some might find it old-fashioned due to its resins and amber notes. I am excited to see how my bottle ages. Although all of the notes are present from the onset, Conjure develops a bit throughout wear. At first, the spices dominate--people will say "fall candle" but I think it's a bit deeper and more sophisticated than that. Then, the scent is at its darkest, with the smoke and wood notes coming through. Finally, Conjure dries down to a dark, slightly powdery vanilla amber. This is a stronger scent with good lasting power. I had a rollerball a while back and the EDP smells pretty much like the oil, per my memory.

This is a smokeyish amber-vanilla with spice, and an odd "baby powder" note that I like. It is both sexy, warm and mysterious, as well as comforting. The baby powder competes with a kind of plastic oud--there's not a lot of it in here, but there's enough to make it interesting. I find it fairly linear--yet complex. The notes are rather distinct and occasionally vie for attention, one coming to the fore, and then receding--but over time, the overal profile does not change considerably. Also, up close, the oud and vanilla are predominant; however, in the air as a trail this moves into a sweet, faintly smokey vanilla amber. The cedar is extremely low-key. I really like it and have been enjoying wearing it to bed under a heaping mound of blankets! I highly recommend (Loving this whole line actually).

Conjure, A mystical, majickal fragrance..... This scent is hypnotic, soft, but strong.....and VERY mysterious. The cauldron smoke accord is in equal parts beautiful and eerie at the same ... A truly unique fragrance...and unlike anything that I have experienced before! Solstice Scents knows how to craft wonderful incense-based fragrances....WOW I would not hesitate to purchase a full bottle of the eau de parfum. I have both the extrait sample and parfum sample.....and they both smell and perform divinely. Bravo, Solstice Scents...very very impressive! The Verdict: EXCELLENT

Love this one. A golden, sticky, and magical fragrance that opens with light smoke, glowing amber, and subtle vanilla, fading away to powdery cedar. It's soft and sticks close to your skin. Very enjoyable, my favorite out of the Solstice Scents offerings I've sampled.
