Estate Lavender

This is the only Solstice Scents perfume that I have a backup bottle of. It ages very nicely and the older it gets, the perfume actually turns deeper and deeper brown, and the vanilla really starts to peek out more prominently. It smells like lavender picked off a plant on a hot day- the oils that get on your fingers. It's not a minty lavender, but more of a rich herbal one. It's also not the more smooth perfumey variety. There is a warmth to it, and with the Estate Vanilla is has that almost boozy oily vanilla pod smell. It's definitely on the sweeter end of the spectrum, but the black tea and other notes ground it and keep it away from gourmand territory, adding a bit of bitterness and earthiness. There is a bit of a dirt note in here. A lot of the greener notes taper off after a few hours of wear, and it becomes more prominently a dark vanilla lavender. It's definitely noticeably richer, earthier, and darker in tone than SS's Lavender Vanilla, which is more of a cottony fresh and marshmallowy lavender+vanilla blend. I also Estate Lavender has a nicer lavender note to it, as a lot of lavenders tend to veer into rubber gloves smelling territory for me (including Lavender Vanilla).

opens a sharp, medicinal, almost spice like tea, quickly goes down to a vanillic powder with lavender laced around a rainy, green ozone quality. the violet is interspersed in there but definitely not overwhelming. pleasantly calm and tender, but more suitable for cool weather than warm imo. lasts for goddamn ever. my older sister really loves this one but if i don’t hold my breath when i first spray it, i sneeze for about an hour, no matter how lovely i think it is.

I love this perfume. I had a half used bottle that I accidentally dropped, and the juice went everywhere. I was so sad. I ended up buying another bottle, and its still mostly full. The juice has turned super dark. Its such a moody scent, something to wear on a rainy spring day. Lavender, tea, and vanilla are the most noticeable in this.

It is herbal and medicinal, which I believe is from the lavender or the bergamot, but it doesn’t smell like lavender to me. There is also a wet soil smell and an airy vanilla.

42nd EDP: I was so excited by the description of this scent (lavender, earl gray tea- I’ve had that in a teacup! And it was lovely...). Waited 2 days, sprayed on skin, hair, clothing, and air...OK, I smell soapy Lavender, but then, OH, what is that old musty, moldy closet combined with earthy beets smell...:( I do not see patchouli or vetiver on the note list to explain these bad smells; maybe these are combined into the tea note or it's that tea essence? I don't actually smell black tea here. This smell lingered forever and made me nauseous; had to take the shirt off and scrub it off. No lavender earl gray tea here I'm sad to say... To me, this perfume is the worst, unpleasantly jarring scent from SS that I have tried, with the most intriguing description. So disappointed, as it sounded so promising...:( 0/10

I can’t believe no one has reviewed this beauty yet. Strong lavender front and center gives way to the lovely Estate Vanilla base. I get some violet too and will look for the black tea when I sample it again. It has a lot of oomph...projects well and lasts on me. It’s greater than the sum of its parts and quite different than Estate Vanilla. Plenty of room in a collection for both. My favorite of the Estate line along with EV though I haven’t tried Estate Carnation yet.

I like it. Its more than just plain lavender. I smell a sweetness like violet and I definitely get a background of black tea. This is pretty potent and has been going strong for awhile now. SO its lavender, (a spicy lively sparkling one) with a bit of sweetness and a black tea base. Its good.

All of Solstice Scents fragrances open really sharply and mellow upon drying. This opens with a pungent, almost medicinal lavender, very spicy, and mellows into a tea hue. Very spice forward--smells great on my scarves.
