Inquisitor

Ordered this as one of a sample set. Opens with a powerful note of urinal freshener puck that smacks one upside the head but lasts only a moment, leaving behind a weird "stereo" effect of notes that feel very separate: a refined, airy palo santo that projects, a middle note of patchouli but without the sharpness, and underneath, what smells to me like a clean, masculine musk close to the skin, though I know there is not supposed to be any musk in this. The perfumer's description calls this a "sinister" amber, but I actually find that it smells comforting, like being held and protected... though perhaps, by an S&M dude. But he's older... and rich, probably... and his dungeon is super comfy

Intense leather, smoke, incense, and palo santo. The 'medieval dungeon' description is perfect, the beeswax fade is lovely. Like the first reviewer says, I also find this to be a comforting scent--like the warmth of an old leather jacket that's been out in the sun all day, that you put on late at night when the summer heat finally breaks. Not really wearable for me...no clue where I'd wear it. But it's sexy and delicious!

I cant actually say what I want to say about the name of this fragrance without triggering an automatic delete for the review- because the historical accuracy of talking about this is probably against tos. I will say this. It is problematic. Conversely, I don't think the owner was really thinking about this when naming it and just wanted a “dungeon vibe” without thinking about the historical implications. Otherwise the fragrance itself is great. I have the same issue with naming a fragrance company The Merchant of Venice when of course they were probably just thinking hey we are fragrance merchants and we are in Venice! That should be the name!

Inquisitor is an extremely powerful fragrance that is reminiscent of a medieval dungeon. It opens with an realistic fire note. Over time, the incense, leather, and resins become more prominent. It becomes sweeter after sitting on the skin for a few hours and fades away to a beeswax scent.

This one was just a bit too sharp for me—but I convinced my husband to wear it mixed with Khamrah Dukhan, and oh. em. gee. it’s HEAVENLY. 😍 This is smoky, but also has a feel of coldness to me—like burnt paper in a stone fire pit, if that makes sense at all. Will definitely be getting the full size for the hubby.
