Lavender Raspberry Truffle

I'm slowly making my way through my Solstice Scents samples. I've already tried Rose Mallow (LOVE) and Corvin's Apple Fest (a surprise love!). Upon first applying Lavender Raspberry Truffle this moring, I was taken aback by how literal this scent is. First you smell strong lavender, then chocolate, and then raspberry compote. At first I though it was maybe a little bit too literal and not exciting enough...but then the creamy white chocolate and vanilla began to appear and everything started to blend together more and I was smitten. At one point I smelled my wrist and could have sworn I was wearing Feve Delicieuse! So I immediately ran to find my Scent Split sample (I can't find it!!), so I settled upon spraying some Mon Guerlain (EDP) to see if it amps up the scent like I though it would. Yes. YES! They are soooo beautiful together. I look forward to layering this on top of my Lavandes Trianon as well. I was considering getting Mon Guerlain Intense (haven't tried it yet), but I feel like Lavender Raspberry Truffle makes it unnecessary. I am so loving Solstice Scents!!

A year of pining concluded! It was a limited edition last year and had to wait till Valentine's day this year to be able to put my hands on it. Just a note: Angela kept me informed throughout the wait, so top notch customer service! It was very well worth the wait!!! With regards to the scent - I can fully agree with the description provided above, i.e. the lavender is only prominant to me in the initial phase and after that it transforms into an olfactory joy of jammy raspberry filled truffle. Proportion-wise I smell 30% raspberry 70% truffle (made up of the rest of the notes). This one is seduction and comfort in the bottle (or in the rollerball to be precise). My only qualm is that it's only available seasonally and only in 5 ml rollerball, which is too bad, I would have liked to buy a bucketful of this.

This is what it smells like to me: you are outside on a sunny day, eating a slice of rich, moist chocolate layer cake, filled with decadent chocolate frosting and raspberry jam and drizzled with raspberry coulis. A warm breeze carries over the scent of lavender from a nearby bush. In brief: realistic chocolate raspberry cake and natural lavender essential oil, nothing more, nothing less. The notes are pretty easy to distinguish, making the perfume a bit discordant, as one reviewer says, but those who enjoy realistic gourmands will really like this one. My only critique is that longevity isn't great.

now this is a good lavender. i think the other notes in this compliment it so beautifully, while in a lot of other fruity or sweet lavenders ive tried, everything else clashes with the herbal essence of lavender. the chocolates and raspberries dont really show their heads as main characters i think they just blend into and round out the lavender in the best way possible. i think this is what mon guerlain was supposed to smell like to me according to everyone elses opinions on mon guerlain (i never got the appeal)

I figured I would love this as I adore all of the notes individually, but the overall formula seems to be very discordant. It feels like it's just individual notes instead of a harmonious blend. The lavender here is more medicinal or herbal and that kind of ruins it for me. This one also has zero projection or longevity for me, which is a let down because other oils from Solstice have worked great.
