Master Bedroom

I love this. I wish the patchouli were more present as itself—in the bottle, the patchouli was a definite base note, and very nicely blended. I was looking forward to it! But when I applied it to my skin, the patchouli merged into the whole in such a way that I could not pick it out. I’m not mad though. The patchouli is an earthy, salty, dirty component that gives the impression of bedclothes after sex. The whole effect is beautiful, with lots going on. It is a unisex but sweet, woody blend of sharp and soft textures, evoking waxed and polished wood, feminine cosmetics, masculine aftershave and hair oils, flowers in vases, a warm unmade bed recently vacated, and a big bowl of spicy potpourri or pomanders. —About those pomanders, if f I have a complaint about this fragrance (apart from the disappearing patchouli), it’s the huge cloud of clove that opens the journey. But the website description gives a good idea of what to expect, and reassures us that the clove will recede soon--which it did, in about a half hour or so The clove then added a thin sharpness and darkness to the woodier notes. This is such a lovely fragrance, and I wish the entire dry down lasted longer. I applied it before bed, and I could detect it as a nice skin scent in the morning, although it did cling to my nightgown. Have I said that I love this? I love this. If I think of it as a patchouli scent, maybe I am disappointed in the balance. But if I think of it as a clove scent, it is actually pretty much perfect.

I have the EdP. Solstice Scents has been a favorite indie house of mine for quite some time. I just recently decided to try their EdPs and I am absolutely blown away! Master Bedroom is wonderful - a perfect cozy fragrance that ticks all the right boxes for me. It is quickly becoming a favorite of mine, especially in these dreary winter months. Warm myrrh, glowing amber, and sweet vanilla dance alongside spicy clove and smooth sandalwood. Master Bedroom forms a hypnotic, dream-like aura around the wearer. Everything is enveloped in a perfect skin musk - not sharp or soapy, more of a soft, powdery clean scent. There's a lovely spiced tea aroma that makes me want to snuggle up in a fluffy blanket. To me, this fragrance exudes a quiet sexiness - a magnetism that's intimate as opposed to prowling, beautifully familiar without being ordinary. I love it. Master Bedroom is sweet, but unisex. A perfect woody fragrance that's deep without being heavy. Quality is superb, as with everything from this house. I'm looking forward to trying more scents in EdP format (Solstice Scents offers samples!).

This is a clove-centric, sweet, warm smell on me--nicely balanced and winter sexy. Those who like florientals and spicy fragrances will love this. As a reference, if you like vintage Opium, this is similar in some respects, though more natural and soft. I generally prefer unisex and even "masculine" scents and this does skew in that direction. This would be fantastic on a guy, classic, sexy and comforting.

Master Bedroom is sensual and inviting. Spicy cloves and myrrh, cozy amber, and warm musk. A very nice balance of sweet, spicy, and powdery notes. Another winner from Solstice Scents!

I've had this sample for over a month now and I keep coming back to it because the notes are right up my alley, but every time I smell it I get the same thing - sweet tarts. Powder sweet, slightly sour sweet tart candy flavor. I don't know what it is, maybe a mix of clove and champaca, but it's a little odd. It unfortunately makes me think of the skin musk as sour sweat, like a master bedroom with sheets that are overdue for a washing.

Wearing Master Bedroom today. It's a chilly, spring day and I am working from home. I put 3 drops on each wrist and enjoyed the first blast of fragrance. It is a deep and sultry fragrance. I get a slightly metallic note like a brass bed or a bedside lamp. How interesting is that? Mostly, about 30 minutes in, the fragrance is amber, patchouli and musk. The musk is furry and sexy and definitely not a clean, sharp edged musk. The powder is wonderful, but I love, love powder. Give me powder any day. About an hour into the fragrance, we take a slight turn to sweetness. Maybe the vanilla? I am not familiar with champaca, so I can't speak to that. All in all, this is a personal fragrance that stays close. The sillage is a hugger. No big screams here. A very nice scent for musk, amber, patchouli, vanilla lovers. Very nicely balanced with absolutely no hippie vibe. You can find a sample of Master Bedroom in the Manor sampler pack.

I got this one in my head, and ordered an EDP. (From the Roll on) SS has several offerings of incense/nag champa/franken/myhrr, etc... I find the clove in Travelers and Séance to be too clovey. (Although I LIKE them) THIS is just right. And the warm woody sex appeal and slight powder sets this apart for me. Parts of this drydown remind me of Edge of Night- another SS with the PERFECT amount of clove. Overall, I had to have this to spray all over my body after work/before bed. I love the sensual incense that indeed- reminds me of a sexy bedroom- incense, skin, powder, woods, a bit spicy and sweet- which somehow leads down to a blissful cozy warm night sleep. Love it.

Delicate musks and airy vanilla, powders and lotions; this is, at first, the scent of warmed skin after a perfumed bath. The dampness from the tub, toweled tenderly, then softly massaged with fragrant oils, and finally wrapped in a silken robe redolent of the resins and incenses that had been stored nearby. A soft, spicy clove component, along with a strangely unidentifiable grassy/woody dried floral note, round out this cozy scent that is the very definition of an evening of self-care.

This perfume is very sexy to me. The spice in this is warm and teasing. Vanilla and amber are super smooth and well blended. The musk is very light and definitely leans more towards a white musk. The name should be changed to Seductress if you ask me.
