Kamel Oud

This isn't my type of fragrance as I lean to feminine or unisex, and this is very manly I think it'll work better with male chemistry than with myself .. in fact I thought I'd hate it based on comparing it to the other SD offerings which are much sweeter and/or creamier, buuut, there's something really enticing about this. It's dry and spicy with the cardamom and pepper and cumin, and woody and incense. But also has just a very mild touch of sweetness from raspberry and rose. I didn't think I'd like this at ALL but it's soo enticing I keep smelling it like non stop I wouldn't be upset at all if some fancy log cabin resort had this scent throughout. It also surprisingly doesn't burn my nostrils like some other masculine scents that have strong super-ambers. But this is very dry and uplifting in a mature kind of way, wearing this you need to have confidence in yourself because you will be smelled and some people won't like it. Don't let the bad ratings dissuade you though, this isn't a crowd pleasing fruity/citrus/clean/gourmandy smell .. so it's not going to be as popular but oh boy is it good in its own right. Of the 3 masculine sora dora scents, Gladiator (prob the most crowd pleasing) and Vanuatu (least fav) and this one, this one is my fav imo. And a real suprise.

I was expecting a basic oud-rose scent, but boy was I wrong; Kamel Oud is an extremely unique - and spicey - take on the classic combo. And when I say spicey, I mean SPICEY. Smelling KO is like submerging your whole head into a spice mix and inhaling the spices. Yet, somehow, it manages to be a totally wearable scent if you're into orientals. A massive scent. Will stick to your skin forever, produce a gigantic scent bubble, and leave a mile-long scent trail. 5/5. The second best of Sora Dora's releases, right after Mandorle.

Kamel Oud starts out as an oud explosion with the rest of the other notes not distinguishable from each other; then as it dries, it becomes more animalic. Although not in the notes, on my skin it feels very smoky, reminding me of the smokiness of Terroni from Orto Parisi or T-Rex from Zoologist (it doesn't smell like either of them, but the smokiness is reminiscent of them). This is a strong perfume, with great longevity and a strong sillage in the first hours. If you like strong, masculine, smoky perfumes, this is for you.

Smoky cedar shaving, savoury spices, oddly growing on me even though it conjures up a barbecue. The oud itself is not funky, the cumin is what is doing some of that. Cumin doesn’t usually work for me, but here I am enjoying it wrapped in the oud woodiness and cade smoke. The cedar pencil shavings reminds me of Sahraa by FdB but this is rougher and spicier. The Oud for Greatness reference seemed way off initially but on the dry down I can see it (minus the sweetness). But it is its own thing, which took me a second wear to fully appreciate.

Reminds me of Arabian perfumery. This is a dry Oud fragrance that’s a little bit aromatic. Spicy and dry, but nothing too crazy.
