Ylop

I got a sample of this with a perfume purchase. I had never paid any attention to Ylop and honestly the accords don’t look that interesting to me. But OH MY, this is a scent profile a have been looking for YEARS! The home of a very good friend of mine smells exactly the same, but it is just a good mix of body care products, scented candles, lot of baking etc. But her home smells like hygge. And Ylop for me is hygge in a bottle. I just ordered my own bottle of Ylop, which is also the most expensive fragrance purchase of mine ever. But this will be loved soooo much. Ylop opens up a bit spicy and herbal. But the dry down is so smooth. Dried apricots, creamy, peach tea, and still little spicy like a baked apple pie with cinnamon bit somewhere in distance. It has a bit of sweetness but is not sticky. Like you go to someone’s home that is filled with love, it’s clean, they have prepared peach tea and fresh apple pie for you and offer you a cozy blanket. This might be my new signature scent. I think this is totally wearable around the year especially here in the colder Nordics.

This Ylop smells exactly like a tart made of a sweet mix of crisp green apples and juicy apricots but has a savoury flavour somewhere in the background. Can’t really say I have tried anything similar to Ylop so far, so I’m intrigued and pleased to find a new type of gourmand. Because as interesting or unique it is, it is a delightful gourmand in the end. I am totally obsessed with the way it opens but as it dries down it changes a bit. The aromatic side, given by rosemary and the savoury, nutty side given by sesame seeds and almonds play almost an equal part in the way the scent develops on skin at least. As most gourmands fragrances the base is made up of vanilla and woods but it’s first and foremost a very delectable fruity sweet scent with aromatic, nutty, vanilla nuances. Lasts on skin for about seven hours, but at this point it’s a total skin scent. Not sure if I would personally want to smell like a walking pie, but it’s really nice. I got around eight hours longevity on skin with Ylop. Haven’t tried it on clothing yet but will update when I do.

I got this perfume a month and a half ago, exactly when it was launched on Jovoy. It was love at first sniff (which i hoped for since it was a blind buy). The downside was that it was so so faint that i could barely feel it and it vanished after 5 hours on my skin. Maybe it was because of the weather too as there were 35-36 degrees Celsius.. i’ve been on vacay for 2-3 weeks and i tried it again today. I have a few things i observed: the juice is slightly darker in color and the perfume is way more present. It projects (still moderately), but it’s even more pleasant than it was in the beginning. I sprayed it before i took a midday nap and i can still very much feel it on my skin after 8 hours. It’s nowhere close to being a beast, but it’s one of the most comforting scents in the world. The apricot and the tea notes are devine. It definitely has an aromatic nutty flavour with the sesame. Now i am very delighted that i own it because it finally performs the way it should. The smell is divine especially since i love tea fragrances.

Realistic aromatic tea with a side of jammy dried apricots and something else very refined in the background, probably the vetiver and sesame combo. Comforting, elegant, warm. Chic, sensual Asian woman with her hair up in a stick bun and red lips having a simple morning tea ritual in a traditional house (saying this as an Asian woman myself). I don't see any vanilla or almonds here, the apple and osmanthus are only here to support the apricot while rosemary supports the tea note. Very long lasting, crazy projection, perfect for any season, any occasion. Lovely lovely scent. If you want straight up tea perfumes without heavy spices or citrus bomb this one is a great option. Fair warning though, it is quite sweet. I like it a lot, might get a fb of this.

I'm testing the perfume right now, so I'll just give a first impression and then share a detailed review later. For the moment, on paper, it has a dry, green, tea and rosemary aspect that doesn't stand out much. Now, on the skin, it's a completely different story. The notes of apricot and osmanthus are highlighted, with those super creamy, almond-like facets. They blend with the vanilla, but the tart, juicy, fruity note of green apple mixes with the rosemary. All of this, together with the vanilla, creates a sweet, creamy, and aromatic scent. It's an absolute delight as it develops on the nose, as you inhale it. Incredible."

Such a unique creation! Why is Ylop not more loved? Perhaps it’s because Ylop feels like a hidden gem. A sparkling gourmand floral for tea lovers, it opens with the delicate sweetness of roasted apricot and osmanthus, touched by aromatic rosemary. The effect is like an apricot tart served alongside a fragrant pot of tea—comforting and inviting. This one, similarly to Floraiku perfumes, likes to take its time, do not be hasty to judge! On my skin it develops like a buttery warm apricot pastry with caramelised shaved almonds. Somehow it resembles a turkish delight smell despite the lack of roses note. I love the black sesame element, however cannot really pick up the tea note, or rosemary. Personally, I find this to be a winter perfume, performing brilliantly in the UK moody weather. This is not an office friendly perfume but could work wonders for an evening outing.

Juicy and sweet in the right measure, Ylop became one of my favorite perfumes right away. The apricot note definitely plays a very important role, but it doesn't diminish the fresh sensation of the tea and rosemary. The vanilla appears discreetly after the drydown, tying all the notes together in a timeless fragrance full of personality. On my skin, it performs very well, both in terms of longevity and projection. The kind of perfume I'll buy every time the bottle is empty. 10 out of 10!

I enjoyed this so much. It reminded me of J-Scent's Rakugan, which shares the Apricot/Apple notes, but the tea, almond and sesame notes sets it apart. Sadly not enough to warrant buying a full bottle because I can probably marry Rakugan with a few other things to get something similar. It's pricy too sadly. If I win the lottery then I'd happily buy it. Great performance and just a delight to keep smelling.

A very pleasant apricot and tea fragrance. Starts off a bit intense with the almond note, but over time, the apricot note really shines through, paired with the osmanthus note, resulting in a lovely scent. Moderate sillage with decent performance, I get around 8 hours (not a beast mode scent). A fragrance to stand out during spring, summer, and autumn.

Mmmmmmm this good! Soft and fresh with a touch of gourmand notes. It’s perfect for me 🥹 I love how it opens with a combination of aromatic freshness and a really smooth osmanthus that alsmost smells like orris butter to me (but probably it’s the sesame note). Lovely and perfectly balanced!!

Fruity opening from the apricot, not cloying but stays till the end. As it dries down the tea starts to follow that creates a calm and soothing bubble around you, this lasts for about 8-9hrs with 4-5 sprays. Very unique scent profile that I didn’t find in any fruit based fragrances.

I love this stuff so much. Smooth, semi-Sweet apricot with rosemary in the background and something slightly nutty. I have nothing that smells like this. This is top 5 for me.

Although the opening is fresh-fruity-tea, it starts to change later. It becomes less fresh but more darker. I think it's the sesame that does this. Sesame is a great note! First of all, this is a very fruity scent, this fruit is apricot, but it is like a smoked dried apricot. Osmanthus-apricot duo is usually seen together, here the osmanthus has not ruined the apricot, the apricot is quite noticeable. While it is in a smoky, fruity and slightly boozy vibe, thyme starts to come from the background... This is the best part: thyme and sesame together start to darken this scent. Towards the end, the osmanthus is noticeable, but everything is fine. Because the sesame is there. The tea is there. Thyme fades away but it is there too. It's quite a nice combination. I like it. Note that it is significantly sweet.

Strong like for me, maybe a love, I would consider getting a travel size. It’s one I should sample again in a short while. Without looking at the notes I told my husband it smelled like either peach or apple, I couldn’t tell. So when I checked and the opening notes are apricot and apple it clicked. Both are apparent. And I love tea as a note. The apple gives a freshness without evoking shampoo at all which I find hard to accomplish in fragrances. The almond must be light because I don’t pick up on it and I don’t tend to like that note. Similarly, I don’t get the chemical or sunscreen association many in the comments below get. Overall I’d say it’s a sweet, feminine leaning, elevated fruity fragrance that could work year round.

This is just.. not for me. Dont get me wrong its not a bad scent. But i liked it way more on paper then on my skin. It opens up with a sweet apricot and vanilla, with some hints of tea. It reminds me of a milky oolong i bought recently. Which i found so extremely nauseating. Its a very dense sweet apricot with osmanthus. Very sugary, slightly soapy. Its dries down into this creamy nutty apricot. I dont get any of the apple notes listed. I do get some of the playdoh notes as many people in the comments say, not a big fan. Im not big on gourmands in the first place and this did not change my mind sadly. Its just too sugary and it feels to me like a scent young teenage girls would wear. Nothing special and very linear.

I smelled candied spiced oranges when the shop assistant sprayed this on paper. I sprayed on my hand out of curiosity of how it would smell on skin. To me it smells like good polyfloral honey - when you get your nose all the way inside the jar to get a nice deep sniff - that's what it smells like! Down to the faint hint of nutty flowers at the base - the caramelized orange fruit scent (smells distinctly orange:) and the wild flowers (I know they are not listed!). I can totally see how it might give some people a headache. It's great, I really like it. I really enjoy this uplifting and comforting scent and I think it would smell great all year round.

This is a super cool fruity fragrance. To me the apple is extremely pronounced, a green Granny Smith one! I also get subtle tea and vanilla. Although there is vanilla, it is not vanilla centered at all, and it is not creamy, on the contrary, it is quite tart with just the right amount of sweetness. I loled at someone here complaining that it lasts *only* 5 hours. As an owner of extremely cold skin, I can count perfumes that lasted over 5 hours on me on my fingers, most of them being unwearables like Followed. I probably get solid 3 hours out of this one.

On first sniff Ylop had such a familiar scent - unusual yet something that was familiar. At first I thought it smelled alcoholic, perhaps like some sort of wine. Mulled wine, maybe? After pondering it for a while - it struck me. Kombucha. This smells exactly like kombucha. It even has a slightly fermented effervescence. It mellows down after about 20 minutes and turns into a smoother skin scent. It is something that has impressed me from an artistry standpoint. Not sure if it is something I would reach for a lot.

if the rosemary didn't fade so very quickly, this would be a banger. as it is, the scent quickly gets a little boring. soapy, nutty, inoffensive and floral. like a pale, sugared osmanthus blossom floating in a bowl of water with a drop of almond extract.

Fresh apple and osmantus. Sesame emerges then the overall effect goes pastry. I truly enjoyed wearing this fragrance and will be adding it to my collection.

a warm tea fragrance, the apricot leans almost gingery. i loved the opening but the dry down leans a bit play doh-y on my skin 3

Crisp green apples and apricot tarts dusted with powdered sugar. Not as sweet as Jany which I enjoy.

It's a hot summer day and you were sent for the summer to live in the country with Grandma. It's hot and the AC is broken so she makes her famous homemade iced tea (her secret is infusing the tea in fresh fruits). Although I love the image it evokes, I can't seem to get passed the 'grandma' of it all, it smells... old.

I had high hopes for this fragrance, but no. At first I thought it was predominantly sandalwood ( I can see it's not listed), but now I clearly sense tea and something green, herbal with a small dose of sweetnessa.I find this fragrance mature and quite dated, gives me a feeling of nostalgia bordering on sadness.

This is a fresh, beautiful, clean scent. The individual notes blend together so well. Maybe too we'll since I can't decipher individual notes. This reminds me of Pas Ce Soir in that the fresh spicy accords come through prominently to my nose.

Nice fruity fragrance, a bit floral, but i personally dont like aromatic notes so not for me tho. Not so much of tea note. A bit soapy

A bit of a dusty, semi sweet apricot with a creamy sesame in the background. It's underwhelming.

Poor Longevity and sillage, :( It's smell unique but not my style

I thought this would be sweeter. It's wonderful in the dry down, but the opening has a strange stuffy quality to it. I also don't get any "crisp apple" that people are saying. There is definitely a sweet, very slightly tart note that comes out in the heart that I love, but really cannot bring myself to wear it because the opening is so awful.

The initial impression of this is fantastic & interesting, 5/5. It’s tea heavy, floral, aromatic, maybe a little ginger. And then within 10 minutes it’s a Plah Doh/ plasticky fake white floral headache. I gave up & scrubbed it off after 30 minutes. It was such a disappointment after that interesting first sniff.

Wearing a sample of it now. On my skin, all I can smell is vetiver and rosemary! I don't smell the tea, sesame or the fruity notes! I also smell a minty note which is not listed. What a shame! As this sounded promising.

3/10 I am glad I bought a sample rather than buying in to the tik tok influencers. I am not a fan of this. Smells... insect repellant like/chemically.

On the strip this is a delightfully interesting gourmand, but on my skin all the gourmand facets are covered up by an animalic quality :(

Not for me. I smell something plasticky and screechy in the fruity notes, and don't get much tea. It's quite linear on my skin.

On my skin, it smells like apricot jam tart/ croissant in the best way possible. The notes so well blended and there is nothing jarring or out of place. The fragrance appears to have a high amount of oil. The only thing is, the scent doesn't really project on my skin. This is my first FB from this house. I'm looking forward to trying others now. Update: I've been wearing this for a few days now and although the scent is beautiful, I honestly don't think it's FB worthy due to the poor performance. It doesn't need to be beast mode but it just doesn't last/project.

I get mostly rosemary & vetiver with a little tea and sesame in the dry down. Zero vanilla, zero apple and zero sweetness. Very bland, just an odd herbal concoction. Hard pass.

The opening is steaming hot urine to me so whatever notes follow that opening good luck to them I say because my brain is too busy trying to contain my gag reflex.

This opens with a defined apricot note that is supported by a dryness that I almost mistook for Iris (except it hat a nutty edge), but it was actually tea/almond/sesame. The apple freshens what may have otherwise been a darker opening. Rosemary is listed, but it doesn’t disrupt this incredibly well blended fragrance. It is on the sweeter side, but it’s not Jany-sweet. It creates a more serious vibe. The black vanilla note is a halo around a nucleus of dry apple/apricot, keeping the more gourmand notes on the sidelines. Its projection doesn’t seem as strong as others from this house. I’m reserving judgement though. Throughout the day ylop would retreat taking a vanilla scented bow only to reopen again. Almost as it did in the beginning. It dries to what I wished vanilla frags would smell like: a soft, crisp, vanilla with a moderately jammy apricot lounging in the background. The projection is different than on skin as my nose picks up jammy, deep apricot while my wrist is more vanilla It's like if Sora Dora Jany met La Danza delle Libellule Nobile 1942 and they had a non gourmand baby. If you liked Jany, but it was too gourmand for you to buy a full bottle or if you’re ‘Team Mallow’ in the Sora Dora universe then Ylop is for you. Even without the massive projection we’ve gotten used to with Sora Dora, it’s still something I’ll own when released. It’s worth a midday reapplication.

Fragrances from this brand are a lottery, you either hit the jackpot or... well, not quite. I absolutely love Jany, it’s beautiful, but I Don’t Know What is a total “what was the point?” for me. Based on the listed notes, I had very high expectations for Ylop. The opening? Sweet apricot and tea, sounds promising. The apple? Completely absent. Gone, nada. Nowhere to be found. A moment later, creamy osmanthus steps in, along with something else that suddenly makes the scent smell like sun lotion. Unfortunately, this holiday at the sunbed vibe sticks around for a while. Thankfully, once the sunscreen phase finally packs its bags, the fragrance becomes genuinely pleasant, lightly nutty and subtly woody, just right. Longevity is around six hours, but it very quickly turns into a skin scent and basically says: You carry on girl, I’ll stay right here.

I am testing this today. I like it as "in the something different" category. This is not a gourmand nor floral. I wouldn't even call it fruity despite the notes. I do pick up the apricot but the overall effect is earthy. It reminds me of the osmanthus fragrance from Le Jardin Retrouve but I like this one more as it doesn't have that strong leather note. It is a subtle earthy (or maybe herbal) fragrance. I would consider a FB of this even though it's not the biggest love because it is comforting and a good alternative when you need a break from the same old same old.

What exactly is this? I looked at the notes, but on my first try of this I can't recognize any of them when I smell it. I'm not good at saying what a scent reminds me of, but if you remember those glade room fresheners from way back in the day that were like a blob of colored gel that you peeled the label off of and sat on the back of the toilet. That is the vibe this gave me. It's weirdly chemical and harsh and...old. Not a fan.

this is literally un-wearable to me. this rarely ever happens but truly i don’t think i can bring myself to wear it and finish the sample i bought. this smells like play dough & mask of magnanimity (from lush) + an amalgamation of all the lush bath balms together in one. it smells NOTHING like the main accords of fruity & aromatic. i think it’s the rosemary and sesame combo ruining things for me. a true dislike 2/10.

I'm honestly confused by this fragrance. I cannot pick out a single notes that's listed. The only thing that comes through is the rosemary but it's muddled. This is tart, bitter, and medicinal Update: The dry down is actually really nice. Soft apple and vanilla scent that sits close to the skin. Still not worth sitting through the opening, but if you don't mind, the dry down is sweet and cozy.

NOT A REVIEW: BUT OMG THESE NOTES?! There is little chance I will not thoroughly enjoy this perfume. I absolutely LOVE “Mallow”, (and I enjoyed “Jany” to a lesser extent) but this sounds right up my alley! Love tea, love apricot, love osmanthus, love vetiver, and I love seeing sesame being utilized more in fragrances as it’s an all time favorite note of mine. I can’t wait to sample this. 🧡

I'm glad I didn't blind buy Ylop. Although it smells like a lovely osmanthus tea and apricot jam, I can't help but think that if this perfume was crafted in the 90's, pre-contemporary IFRA guidelines, it would have been that much juicier, richer and full bodied. This is too linear for me. Still, it's a must-try if you're a diehard osmanthus fan (I am not) and is also quite long-lasting.
