Moon Magic

Incredibly accurate lavender that takes me back to a lavender field I visited in Oregon. This elderly woman grew fields of lavender and has the locals help her tend to it since her husband passed. She makes lavender lemonade, sweets, soaps, lotions, tea and sells sachets to put in your bag. It was one of those core memories for me and is one of the reasons I love lavender scents, along with the association to aromatherapy - I always struggled to sleep as a kid and spent many a night misting my pillow (mostly in vain) with lavender spray and drinking sleepy time tea. You can really smell every note! It’s like a lavender latte with steamed milk, a dusting of chai powder and a cute design in the foam ☕️ 🪻 Soft and cozy like a white plush down comforter, fuzzy socks and stirring sugar into a mug of tea, wispy purple clouds outside the window, flickering candles. It’s so comforting and nice. Sweet but in a creamy, aromatic way, the soft herbal scent that is characteristic of lavender sprigs. Makes me think of swans, writing on cute stationary in looping cursive, fluffy pillows, amethysts, a spring breeze ~ the longevity and strength is impressive too, and Sorce has pretty good prices compared to most! Would definitely recommend if you’re a lavender lover 💜

Not sure if any one else feels this, but Moon Magic to me smells like rustic spices with a subtle and sweet undertone beneath. The fragrance itself reminds of spiritual crystals with herbal offerings that are often found in temples. The spices are really what shine among Moon Magic’s ingredients, and the effect is truly so comforting and soothing. Extremely inoffensive but so nostalgic. The projection is also great, and I find it to almost lull me to sleep. I can see myself wearing this to bed, and as someone who suffers from insomnia, this feels like a godsend. Moon Magic will definitely be a major addition to my bedtime routine. I also combined this with Jo Malone’s Ginger Biscuit, and the result was just phenomenal. Both of the perfumes mix together flawlessly and become a mixture culminating in midnight bakery of sorts. Warm, fragrant, and spellbinding. I haven’t worn it in public yet, but I will definitely update on what other people’s reactions are. To me Moon Magic smells, simply put, divine.

everyone says they can only smell lavender but i predominantly smell chai. this is such a realistic chai fragrance too, it’s very sultry in my opinion, not too sweet and coming from someone who gets fragrance-headaches and nausea very easily, this one is safe!!! the lavender i can smell as well but it’s not as loud as the chai. together they are so relaxing and beautiful and this has become one of my favorite fragrances, possibly everyday sent for the fall and winter!! i only got a sample so i have to order a large bottle asap!! 100/10

this is a warm chai in a big mug that you wrap both your hands around on a chilly winter morning. this is such a beautiful gourmand tea scent and it makes me extremely curious about how snow moon magic differs. i have nothing like this and i’ve never smelled anything like this! people have said that it smells like a candle which i understand but something about mixes very well with my body chemistry. definitely worth a try and while very sweet it’s not at all cloying to me. love!

The best fragrance I've ever smelt. Opens with an almost damp earth smell, as if the used whole spices from the chai have been taken out and piled on top of yesterdays in a bowl. Then aromatic, heady essential oil lavender, so purple and hazey and instantly relaxing. Then the yummiest sweet vanilla milk, with an almost salted edge then thick chai spice, unmistakeable. Creamy dreamy spicy warm and floral, autumn in a bottle🪻☕ 🥛

i don't know why it took me so long to try this one, but i think it is much better than snow moon magic! SMM resembles the cookie party a lot more than moon magic with it's "sour oatmeal" like cookie butter note that i do not care for. the chai tea vibes is much more prominent in moon magic, which is exactly what i wanted! the chai is paried with a sugary, almost syrupy aromatic lavender- it is very smooth. LOVE! i need a FB.

Very realistic chai latte. It's not overly sweet. It opens with a rush of chai spices and lavender. Quickly followed by a cozy soft vanilla milk. My MIL is super sensitive to perfumes and she compliments me every time I wear this. If you want added sweetness, it layers very well with other perfumes like In Dreams and Fairytales Vanilla for a more vanilla forward perfume or Ephemera for a vanilla pumpkin chai.

I am loving this perfume. This is going to be my new go-to winter perfume. The thing I love is I’m getting different notes with different whiffs. It bounces between a warm chai spiced vanilla, and a cold lactonic vanilla with almost a buttermint vibe. I don’t really get lavender but there is a complexity to this that makes it smell expensive. It’s never going to be mistaken for a cheap body spray.

This is literally if the taste of a chai latte with lavender cold foam was a fragrance. I tested this theory extensively by drinking and sniffing intermittently. IMO this is better than Snow Moon Magic and is more aromatic and spicy than dessert/gourmand. For me it’s not an essential oil lavender but a creamy lactonic lavender. It’s so comforting and delicious.

I truly love this scent. The lavendar is prominent, but to me it feels natural and pleasant. Not the chemically lavender scent some may anticipate. I love the how the spiciness of the lavender and chai is tempered by a sweet milky note. I am a gourmand lover and I prefer this to Snow Moon Magic.

I seem to be one of the few who prefers the original Moon Magic to the Snow Moon Magic variant. This one is much spicier—it’s a chai and lavender fragrance with a hint of sweetness. Snow is much more cookie-centric.

Definitly a very earthy chai, almost like smelling the whole plant of it. A scent that I'll love to use at bedtime, but I don't believe I would wear this out. Lasts overnight into the morning of the next day.

This might be one of the most comforting smells I’ve ever smelled. Like a warm hug by a loved one, this makes me want to cozy up in bed with dim lighting

Smells like a lavender snickerdoodle cookie dipped in milk

A sweet, airy, musky vanilla with a cosmic vibe. Personal: 7.5/10 – Pleasant, creamy-sweet vanilla with a musky, airy quality. I like it, though it’s a bit too soft, sweet and minimal for me to crave wearing often. Mass appeal: 8.5/10 – Vanilla-musk is one of the most universally likable DNAs, and the airy sweetness and lavender oil makes this extra approachable. Performance: 6/10 – Moderate longevity, but projection is pretty light. More of a skin scent. Value: 6.5/10 – Sorce’s indie pricing is on the higher side, and while the fragrance is nice, it doesn’t feel complex enough to justify a premium price. I recently bought the 2ml alcohol based spray sample because I was interested in the chai notes of this perfume. It's a nice scent, just not what I wanted it to be. The initial spray is very medicinal and slightly bitter, probably from the lavender. It almost has a green, spinachy scent to it? The dry down is very cozy and sweet, like fresh laundry in a café. The chai note was a letdown. It's trying to give vanilla chai latte, but I find that it is neither quite vanilla nor quite chai. Still a really nice perfume! Very witchy. Will definitely be wearing this in colder weather.

Sweet, sugary lavender and warm, airy, milky chai. Very smooth and comforting, and almost a little herbal and spicy, with a hint of something that gives... concrete? Not-quite-dirt? Maybe that's just the lavender having a bit of greenness to it. It's earthy but in a good way - it helps to break up the creamy sweetness and ground it a little bit. The more I wear her, the more she's growing on me. She's just so pretty and cozy. Makes me feel like a witch in my cottage in the woods.

This has a heavy lavender note, I’m not sure why people aren’t picking that up. They might be referring to “snow” moon magic and not moon magic. Moon magic is a bright yet smooth aromatic lavender with a sweet top note. It smells powdery but it not a dry powder it’s rather wet as well.. here for the folks who bought a sample confused to the difference between snow and moon magic. Very comforting.

Like a sugary lavender cardamom cookie or airy lavender chai latte. It's nice, maybe a bit too sweet to me. 100% a true dessert-y gourmand. I got into wearing it at night with the lavender because it's pretty relaxing. It is incredibly sweet though, so I don't reach for it all the time.

was gifted this as an extra in a mercari order and i’m really surprised by how much i like this! smells like a lavender chai but also very earthy like wet dirt & herbs. i definitely understand the witchy store comments on this, it’s very cozy but ritualistic too

I would’ve enjoyed this more if the lavender wasn’t too sharp, it goes to the essential oil direction. But all the other notes and sweetness is perfect , spicey chai tea latte . I like this a lot better than snow moon magic , despite the sharp lavender

smells like a straight cup of chai with a hint of lavender. doesn't smell very sweet on my skin, almost comes off kind of like incense? smells like the inside of a really expensive witchy shop. smells great, just not something i'd reach for.

Smells like you’re walking in the deep forest or the meadows and there’s lavender around you. Not really sweet, I don’t really smell the milk notes. It’s mostly a very green, earthy chai lavender scent. It’s excellent as a sleep perfume

I prefer this to Snow Moon Magic just because the chai spices really peek out nicely here. A lactonic, spicy chai with prominent lavender and a cozy atmospheric note. It's a great bedtime scent.

smells exactly like a cup of chai made with a tea bag. significantly spicier than snow moon magic, and for me the vanilla is way more subtle. dare i say more wearable than snow moon magic?

I am continuing to sample Sorce scents in hopes of finding a few I like, or even love. So far, I've only liked one enough to buy a full bottle - In Dreams and Fairy Tales Vanilla. And that is not a scent I'm willing to wear outside the house for fear of choking someone out or smelling like a cupcake. But at home? Smelling like a cupcake is ALL I want to do. So it goes for this brand. I recognize the artistry, the vision and ethos - I really love the story and general vibe of this brand. The witchy scents, the all-women crew, the cute names. But I just can't find anything I can wear outside the house. Moon Magic got close. It is a nice scent. The lavender isn't too sharp - and it is well balanced by the chai/lactonic facets. But after about 30 minutes, I need to wash it off. It's just. . . too much. It does feel/smell high quality but it is not for me. I will keep trying -- and I won't stop until I find something that works for me.

I have the oil sampler. Anatomy of a sniff—It’s very cardamom-forward to my nose. Lavender comes in second for a brief moment, and in the end, a trail of background spices to quickly overtake the lavender. Not very milky or lactonic to me. Kind of like i stuck my nose into a tin of chai, with a singular lavender flower in the vicinity. I would like it much more if it were sweeter and a little less cardamom-y. Lately I’ve been wearing it to bed paired with Sorce’s The Cookie Party. I’m curious how SMM compares.

Predominately lavender, in an essential oil sort of way - probably in due part to the chai note that is just under it. My nose actually cannot pick out the smell of vanilla specifically, however there is a warm, cozy quality to the spices/lavender that may be owed to ir. But the perfume is not very sweet or particularly gourmand. Had the vanilla note been stronger, I might've liked it more, but as its formulated the essential oil scent is a beast with no other note competitor.

I got the oil sampler. The opening is a very strong spicy chai and lavender scent. While I do find the dry down to be more tolerable, it feels very essential oil-y and it lacks the milky/latte quality I was really looking forward for. Had the lactonic notes came through for me, I think it would’ve balanced the perfume and rounded the scent profile into something I would’ve liked a lot more. Perhaps I’ll have to try Snow Moon Magic & see how the cookie note comes into play.

Meh...It’s okay. It’s nice but on my skin, the lavender smells super sharp and it overpowers all of the other notes and makes this frag very aromatic and not perfume-y at all...more like an essential oil remedy type of scent... The sweetness is in the background, trying to come through but not quite as if the Lavender is so powerful and strong that the sweet notes are just not going to be able to compete so they give up 😢 Definitely try it first, on the skin, if able...

I'm getting steamed milk and lavender-scented Play-Doh. That's not a diss, I am actually enjoying this lol. It's a bit fluffy/musky in feel with a strong and natural-smelling lavender. It's calming and nostalgic at the same time, given the Play-Doh aspect (is anyone else getting that, btw?) Moon Magic makes for a good night-time scent.

If you practice witchcraft, and you want to smell like a ritual, I’d buy a full bottle. This is a deep lavender with a bit of a sweet tang to it. It’s like laying in a lavender field after doing a spell. I think it’s beautiful and I might revisit it in the winter months but for now, it’s too strong of a lavender for me

when i first smelled this on paper there was a very enchanting lavender and wet soil smell! which i was very excited about. however, the dry down on skin turns a lot sweeter and the chai part of this fragrance comes through. which i suppose is what a lot of people are looking for in this, but i don't think it's for me

This reminds me of a sweet lavender essential oil with a hint of chai. Its pleasant but I’m not really getting any other notes listed. This would maybe be nice in a body care product or a candle but it doesn’t feel like a perfume to me.

It’s okay. It’s a synthetic, almost waxy sweet chai scent - like the smell of a generically sweet vanilla chai chapstick. Almost a cotton candy scent but with a clashy green/dirt undertone.

This is too spicy for me. That's all I get in the opening and mid. It dries down nicely, but that takes a long time and it's not worth the wait. I like Snow Moon Magic better.

Medicinal lavender and overwhelming strong cinnamon are all I get. They don't mesh well together. It makes me feel like someone added strong lavender and cinnamon over an industrial strength cleaning product to try and cover the odor, but it somehow made it worse. I was hoping for a chai latte with a hint of lavender. This doesn't read as gourmand to me at all. I strongly prefer Snow Moon Magic.

Masala bomb with a ton of cloves, cardamom, and cinnamon. It completely overtakes everything else for me. Makes me smell like I rolled around in a sweet spice drawer. Pretty much all of the other notes are calming, relaxing. Yet this fragrance isn't relaxing at all. I suppose I could see a baker wearing this. Or a barista.

The sweet spice is quite overpowering for me. I love the concept of a cozy tea fragrance, but this had too much vanilla for my liking. It is a strong fragrance and a little goes a long way. So in terms of price, I think its fair considering how long it lasts on the skin. I also love the art on the bottle.

This was a blind buy fail for me unfortunately. Based off the notes I should love it, but there's just something in the background of it that smells odd to me. A weird oily smell, maybe from the oils it's made with. I had to declutter it.

I wanted to love this but it just smells like fish tank water. to my nose. So bummed.

This one really surprised me in the best way. I’ve always liked lavender, but weirdly, I’ve never sought out lavender scents because if it’s too on the nose, then it becomes unwearable in my opinion This however, is a spicy-sweet swirl of lavender that feels both comforting and a little unexpected. Unique without trying too hard, and 100% wearable. I honestly can’t imagine anyone finding it offensive, although admittedly, people who don’t like lavender probably won’t be crazy about it. Tis is life. I’ve got the oil version, so I can’t speak too much on projection, but the longevity holds up beautifully. And while it leans cozy or like something you might reach for in colder months, the brightness of the lavender and its overall airness give it enough lift to wear year-round without it becoming suffocating in warmer weather. side note: the description of a lavender chai latte is spot on, especially if you add one or two pumps of vanilla.

This was such an interesting fragrance to me, I am stunned by how they were able to capture how crystals might smell. It's warm and cold at the same time, like visiting a witchy store wearing your warmest fluffy cashmere sweater. All their fragrances are very strong though so this can easily be overpowering, it's sweet, milky, cold and a little spicy. Both me and the husband really were taken by it.

if you’ve smelled snow moon magic and you are wondering about this, it mostly follows the same path with the exception of the savoury and buttery cookie, with some amped up lavender. i’m shocked at the earlier bad review on this fragrance, i really don’t know what there is to hate. this is a lavender iced chai latte to my nose, there is a colder quality in comparison to snow moon.

I really want to like this, and maybe I will if I try it on skin, but there’s something very faint in the base that’s almost...mildewy? Like when tap water turns a bit green-smelling in the summer months in the South. It’s weird, because the rest of the notes I really enjoy, it’s just this weird undercurrent.

I really don't smell anything but lavender. I could get the same experience from a lavender essential oil. Disappointed because I hoped this would be a spicier, less sweet variation of Snow Moon Magic, but I feel like I would only use Moon Magic to layer with something else for a burst of lavender.
