Nothing Burns Like the Cold

Initially, I didn’t like this fragrance. It opened very mature and salty. But the dry down......oh the dry down. It dries down to something sweet but not in the toothache kind of way, it’s almost a caramel or toffee. It’s the kind of sweet that keeps you coming back and I think it’s the amazing blend of vanillas and saffron that create this cozy scent bubble. I suggested it as a night perfume, not meaning I think it’s for a night out or a party, but as a bedtime scent. Spray this before bed, and wake up to the most addictive fragrance trail. I do hope she brings this one back, or creates one similar. I miss it

The rice note here is very rice-like! Sweet, vanilla rice. At first I thought this perfume was sour and unpleasant (hellooooooo sticky rice note! I see you!), but the longer it sits on the skin and warms up, it's starting to grow on me... I have a hard time with rice notes in general (as well as bread notes, they can come across as very buttery and sour to my nose) and that's definitely happening here. But I decided to wear it again and to push through the initial hour of sour rice, and now the rich creamy vanilla is coming through. And the vanilla is so pretty, so sweet, so yum. I see the appeal. It's rich and sweet and smooth, with a hint of that buttery starchiness from the rice. My nose is confused. I like it... but the rice. So very rice. **Coming back after actually purchasing a bottle and wearing it more (LOL don't judge, I had a good feeling...) and it's grown on me so much!! That punchy rice note settles in and leaves behind the most luxurious, rich, slightly toasty caramel vanilla scent with a little *something extra*. It's so yum. I'm realizing that I actually have no idea what saffron smells like, that might what be what was throwing me off initially. It's almost like a metallic-floral-sesame-seed-and-suede situation lingering behind the toasty vanilla. But as it settles, everything blends together and just works.

To me this smells like very salty caramel and something vaguely plastic-y. Like doll-head plastic or maybe like steaming a bag of rice in the microwave. Vaguely smokey... My nose can't quite make out what I'm smelling besides the caramel lol. I haven't tried any other rice fragrances, so idk what "rice" is intended to smell like in perfume. I do like it, it's a very clean smelling gourmand. Addicting and lasts a long time on clothes and skin. This is completely different from 2AM imo, the caramel notes are similar, but that's where the similarities end for me. However, I do think this smells a lot like Don't Whistle in the Woods.

A very very saffron forward and very toasted rice in the initial spray then the vanilla and caramel comes out in the drydown but the saffron is still pretty prominent. The drydown in this one is very similar to Sorce’s 2AM in Lafayette minus the coffee and if you take away the saffron. Some people think the saffron note smells like leather but I don’t get the leather at all, it just smells quite smokey and pungent in the beginning, the drydown is lovely though

I thought I’d love this one. I imagined it warm and cozy scent but it is not my scent pallet. It does get better as it dries down but for some reason I smell ink and caramel. I’m not the biggest fan of caramel centered perfumes and this one is mainly caramel.
