Viola

Great scent with solid performance. It is very similar to Town & Country by Clive Christian. Difference is that this has more citrus and the dry down is better, IMO.

I would say it is a sharper, more defined version of Town & Country. For this price, it is truly a high-quality fragrance.

First off, the bottle says 64% alcohol for an EDP.... So this is a 36% extrait. It is very similar to CC town and country. Im getting the same clary sage, lemon, pepper, and ambergris in Town and Country and I love it. What I don't like, and @Olere Novum pointed out below, is the incense and nutmeg. There's this smoky, dryness that doesn't fit with the lemon-pepper-ambergris bright/uplifting vibe. I'm afraid this may be one of those things that only the person wearing will pick up, and in the air it's only the favorable notes. I'm going to give it a chance because I love the House of Sospiro, and I want to pick up a bottle of Town and Country at some point. I'll be back to update. Edit: This was the first Sospiro I didn't love, but I still liked it. It has the town and country DNA with incense, spice and dryness to it. It had great staying power (over 12 hours), but kept closer to the skin while giving respectable sillage. Town and Country lasts about 7-8 hours but has lift and sillage throughout the wear. It also has an ambergris facet that makes the citrus, white tea, and aromatics juicy. I think I will wait to get a bottle of Town and Country once I find a deal. Viola is sample worthy, and maybe on your skin, it could work wonders.

This perfume can be considered as a unique perfume compared to market, especially in terms of the scent. The perfume notes can look very generic, common but it is definitely not, could be due to quality of goods that used in production. So i can say, it is a very low chance that you smell very similar scent on someone else in the same street, but this indicates you need to be careful about this perfume, because it is not to everyone's taste. This is a very strong and very sharp smell with herbal opening. So, on the first spray, i was able to smell it for hours, but it was like medicine. This medicine scent keeps its existance around 20-30 minutes, i guess it is because of the perfume concentration ( %36 essence). When we look at the essence concentration it is something like extrait perfume, so the opening is blasting with the top notes. But, after 2 hours it becomes lovely for me, and honestly i didn't care the harsh opening since it does not last long. Then main notes projects and last quite long. In short, this is an expensive perfume, bottle and ingredient quality is very high, i recommend do not buy this without testing it.

This emanates 9 beautiful, gorgeous notes ... and 1 horribly sharp accord that ruins the whole thing for me. It is like a beautiful choir is singing you Happy Birthday, and your tone deaf drunk uncle walks into the room and starts singing along and ruins the whole thing. Its heavenly citruses and aromatics are completely cancelled by a very off putting smell of burned rubber and 1970's car exhaust.

Interestingly, it reminded me a bit of Torino 22. I had shared similar feelings about that fragrance as well, saying that something felt missing — and the same applies here. From time to time, I catch a very pleasant floral note, but there’s also an intensely sharp note that ruins everything. As I said, it feels like something is missing in the composition, like the perfume isn’t fully complete.

This is too scratchy for me. I don’t know what the similar stuff smells like but this one here is not for me. The pepper is too prominent. I don’t mind a dose of pepper, hence PDM Castley. Major disappointment, I really wanted to like this. Sample before buying.

Opens with some of those rough citruses that I smell in Basso (basically lemon toilet cleaner). It gets better with time as the citrusy tones are opposed by fresh-sweet spices with the execution heavily leaning into BR540 x Elysium style scents such as Clive Christian's Town & Country as well as Fragrance du Bois' Lucius. I'd say Viola performs the best of the 3, but blending wise it's miles behind the Clive. All-in-all, I'd rate it a 5/10. I'd say Lucius doesn't really stay true to the DNA (more musky in the base, closer to the glossy magazine smell from various Le Labo/Byredo scents), but it's still done better than Viola. I think even scents like Torino22 and Bal d'Afrique Absolu would be better purchases to cover this function than Viola. Obviously wouldn't recommend buying this, pick one of the aforementioned alternatives.

Nice scent, amazing performance, stays on my skin 12+ hours, the citrus – lemon, is so persistent, never goes away, I haven't smelt anything like it. Can't compare it to T&C or Lucius as I haven't tried those, but the scent type reminds me of TDH Parfum where orange is replaced by lemon, earthiness replaced with incense, and oakmoss with amber. It also has some Basso nuances in the base, carries the Sospiro DNA. I would buy this based on performance and smell, but it does remind me of hard lemon candy so much and therefore I do not find it office appropriate. That is completely subjective though as otherwise it is quite safe. Can be worn year round.

Has anyone compared this with Amouage Search cos that's what it sounds like rather than T&C or Lucius ? Sadly I wish I could find out myself.

The perfume's opening is Terre d Hermes, and the drydown is a long-lasting and highly diffused scent that reminds us of Black Sea perfumes.
