One of the rare occasions where I have paid full price for a bottle that was over $100. As a perfumista on a budget, it's really gotta wow me to pry that credit card out of my wallet. And this did. I sampled it and knew immediately I had been searching for this scent. It reminds me almost exactly of my beloved yet discontinued GAP Om that was my signature scent in high school. That myrrh is really out of this world. The amber, the labdanum... everything is blended so perfectly. I know that fragrances get discontinued all the time for reasons unknown, so I didn't want to sit on the fence thinking about how I wanted a bottle. When you see the person you want to be with, you ask them out. So it was for me with the sample of 1499. I knew it was for me. This sweet, smoky, balsamic potion speaks to me as though it's coming from a past life.

For almost an hour after applying this fragrance, all I got from it was a well-balanced mixture of jasmine and myrrh. It's a very clean scent - not soapy per se, but you could imagine a jasmine-scented soap smelling like this. Projection is high, but not ridiculously so. After quite a while, the top notes faded to reveal semi-sweet vanilla and a scent I almost think is caramel. Maybe just a very unusual amber? Not sure I'd wear this often - it's more floral than I usually like, with all that jasmine - but I'm glad I got to try it out.
