Aludra

Like some of the other reviewers, I received a free decant of this scent from Maxorama. Others have mentioned that it is similar to PDM Delina and now that I think about it, I can agree with that. That would make this fragrance very feminine-leaning. But I'm a guy and I sprayed it on me, not knowing anything about it... and my wife absolutely LOVED it on me. I think it's explainable -- Here's another parallel that no one seems to have mentioned: it is also reminiscent of Mind Games J'Adoube. And at least during the first 30 minutes, that's more the connection I smell. On my skin, it smells more like mango than rose (I actually didn't detect any rose until I read another review here and really thought about it). I assume that's the lychee coming through. I don't think I've smelled lychee in a perfume/cologne before, but it fantastically gives you a tropical fruit smell without being gourmand or "sweet" because Aludra counterbalances it with the musk, incense and vetiver notes. Mango + musk = J'Adoube, in my opinion. J'Adoube is more complex, but Spirit of Kings is no slouch -- it's not linear. The lychee/mango accord never leaves, but the musk and vetiver cut through more during the dry down and give it that clean, neutral smell. And that to me makes this scent unisex. Yes, now that others have mentioned it, I can smell the Delina parallel (dammit!), but I don't find it to be as feminine as Delina. I can't stop smelling my arm, and my wife really likes it on me, so yes, call me courageous but as a guy, I plan to wear this scent and add it to my normal rotation.

This is Christian Provenzano at his best. Aludra from Spirit of Kings puts a lot of value in the bottle. The smell is very high-quality, you can sense right away they put some high end oils, naturals and aroma chemicals in here. It smells almost like biting into a ripe lychee fruit while in a garden full of peonies and roses. It's a very feminine, floral and beautiful scent. Anyone who says it is a clone or of Delina...well...that's just like, your opinion man. I smelled both of them recently side by side, and this blows Delina out of the water. Both have peony and a lychee note, so what? Aludra does it much better. Let's also talk about the price. You can get this at 100ml for 159 euros on their website, and they also give free shipping and some samples (at least when I ordered). So in fact, this beats the PdM version quite handily considering that it is not as good, not as quality, and is more expensive. Going to have to look more into this house!

Aludra is a twin sister of Delina, so if you like such scent profile you must definitely meet her! :) As a Delina lover, I can barely smell a difference, but there were few I noticed when testing Aludra: 1. She is a younger sister and I can smell that she’s a bit more fresh and youthful, less creamy 2. She’s more spicy than Delina, I also think that rhubarb is present for a longer duration 3. Her presence is very enjoyable, but she disappears way faster than Delina If you haven’t tried Delina yet, expect a very feminine, sweet rose fragrance. It’s a deep perfume with few layers, each of them being pure joy.

Reminds me of pink lipsticks and silk cushions. It's a fruity, oily rose and peony scent while cashmeran in the base is responsible for the fluffy pillowy effect. The fruity rose opening does remind me of Delina, but it takes a different direction later and it has a completely different quality (Delina is lighter, more refreshing). The musky-rose drydown is a nod towards Roses Musk from Montale I feel, but without the metallic edges. Very well done.

I also got this as a 5ml sample from Maxaroma. When I first saw the scent profile I originally thought I wasn't gonna like this but oh boy I was wrong. I've been grabbing for this fragrance for the last few weeks and never got tired of it.

Such a joyful fruity-floral fragrance! Summer litchi & peony dominate. A clean somewhat pop-artsy scent, super easy to like and wear.

There is this lifting and joy it gives me. I love the aura that flows when I wear it. And i got lots of compliments too.

Sophistication at its best! Do if you want to smell rich in spring and summer, and you like rose, go for this one. This potent beauty is new to my collection. Even if I'm not rose lover, this spicy, fruity rose got me. I can smell woodsiness and a little tiny bit of incense but just to give it a special touch. And even if it has vanilla in the base, do not expect it to be sweet, cause it's not. Yes it is similar to Delina, but honestly with the price, projection and longevity it's outperforming it. When it comes to performance. It lasts 8 hours, projects like crazy and the bottle (even if Spirit of Kings bottles are not everyone's cup of tea) it's high quality and different. If you like rose I might say it's a safe blind buy. All in all - high class perfume.

Then he bowed to the princess and, with an enigmatic smile, left the room without looking at anyone, to the amazement of everyone present. I don't know what this fragrance wants to represent inherent in this story with its olfactory pyramid. Perhaps the smell of the gifts inside the palace: we find a mostly citrus and sweet base, accompanied by soft and delicate flowers. Let's say very simple, but balanced and effective, very pleasant to wear. Spring/summer for me.

i bought a 5ml decant of this and it’s very lovely and doesn’t have as much of the nutmeg / incense note that i pick up in Delina. i do believe they are very comparable and you would not need both in your collection. this is a really great alternative at a better price point, but personally my favorite interpretation / style is La Rosee over the classic dna, so neither this or Delina is full bottle worthy for me!

Super nuanced, fruity rose-musk. Rose musk down right. Airy yet deep. Feminine leaning.
