58 Avenue Montaigne pour Homme

A soft yet invigorating blend of citruses, sage, ambergris, woods and vetiver that’s different yet relatively safe at current prices under $30. You can find the smallest size under $15. To my nose ambergris can make or break a scent. In this case you pick it up immediately when you spray it and then the fragrance sort of develops around that note. A fair warning: for those of you not familiar with the note of ambergris it is very distinct and decidedly unisex. What I mean is this isn’t a heavily masculine scent. You might put this on and think, “I would prefer to smell this on a woman.” For that reason I cannot say this is blind buy safe. However I still think it’s a great cheapie and for the price you are taking a very low risk. There are better fragrances with ambergris but they are significantly more expensive. I think if you’re a fan of the notes, a fan of cheapies and a fan of lesser known, “unpopular” fragrances , give it a try. Check out my page for other recommendations. Thanks! SYL

Bu parfümü eğer STDupont değil Tom Ford, Chanel gibi dağıtım kanallarını kapatmış bir marka çıkartıp, esans yoğunluğunu biraz arttırıp 35-45 yaşlarındaki yupi kentli erkekleri hedef alsaydı kesinlikle "hit" bir parfüm olurdu. Cok nadir denk geliyorum ama her gördüğümde alıyorum. Esans biraz zayıf olduğu için gün içinde tazelemek gerekiyor. Kalite hissi çok yüksek. Aromatik-odunsu bir yapı üstünde feminen tarafa kalmayan çiçeksi bir havası var. Hak ettiği ilgiyi görememiş olması kötü. Bence harika bir parfüm.

The perfume is quite interesting. It is a fresh-sweet, if I could categorize it that way. It has some of the "sweet" of CH for men but much more subtle and fresh. But I also feel some resemblance to the violet note from YSL-L`homme Libre. It's just that I'm a little confused here because the violet note is not listed in the composition of the perfume, and for my nose it seems to be the dominant note.

Amazing if you a smoker you love it its mix very well with tobacco start as fresh then softy relaxing it's like a bubble of ozonic citrus they dry down of this one like the mid note of L'Homme Libre but big diffrent in the top I could say this is like a mixed of Passenger Cruise and L'Homme Libre and challenge Let my say if like diesel Only The Brave you will like this one

Like the other guy below said, it smells a lot like CH for Men. To my nose the only difference is that Dupont 58 Avenue is slightly more citrusy and less sweet than his CH's twin, what also makes it a little lighter, good for daily use. Overall a very nice scent with nice longevity and sillage.

The opening is strong with alcohol but the dry down is so beautiful! Creamy classiness! More intimate but a great fragrance. 5 hrs in and I'm still getting lovely whiffs. I wish I could find another bottle!!!

S.T. Passenger Cruiser is like a copy of Azzaro Chrome, to my nose, and Pure remembers me quite a bit Avon Blue Rush. I don't know Declaration but it is said that Dupont pour Homme is like a copy as well. I own almost all scents of the house (only exceptions are L'eau Dupont pour Homme and Signature), and those copy-like scents, despite this character, don't smell cheap to my nose. There are scents on their own, like S.T.Dupont Noir, and Passenger, also good. It's like a discreet house, but with good scents, even if neither of them have a real wow-factor. Now this 58 Avenue Montaigne, the name got me quickly. The discreet bottle too. As soon I tried I understood the comparision with Ch Men, but they are really different scents, and for my liking I very prefer this. It's a bit sweet, but not in the traditional oriental way; not gourmand either, not heavy, not boring; it's a bit fresh too. I ́m not sure about sillage but longevity is pretty good. If you have CH Men, I don't see any problem in having both because they are differents. I'm using these days CH Men, Givenchy "The Mentalist" Gentlemen (which, by the way, remembers me quite a bit L'Homme Libre) and 58 Avenue Montaigne. I'd put 58 Avenue in between, more friendly smelling to my nose than both CH and Givenchy. And so that's my choice.

Bought This today, it was a blind buy and i wanted it that way as lately i realized all my perfumes smell similar, i wanted something different, so forced myself to buy a blind one, and anyway dupont has always safe perfumes, u may not grow fond of it but you'll never hate it. The perfume starts fresh, a bit citrusy and suddenly it turns spicy, the cardamom sticks in the nose and remains there till the smell fades, very well blended, amber notes are visible after a couple of hours, i can see the resemblance to CH Men,i had the later years ago, but this one stays more, with better silage and less leathery and more woody and peppery. I love this, it's not my cup of tea, but it's a sophisticated perfume, can be worn morning or night, with a jeans or suit, sophisticated perfumes like that come only from classic houses like Dupont, you can't expect this blend to come from BOSS for example :) If you're into spicy, oriental, herbal perfumes, then this is a guaranteed option.

This is generic or familiar smelling. There is no denying that it's a delicious, sweet and intoxicating fragrance when it goes on. If I were an expert I could identify the aroma-chemicals which, in my opinion, are crowd pleasing early 21st century ones, that are used to make a fragrance that is "posh" yet friendly and easy. At first I thought it was similar to 1994's Faconnable, a delicious juice. Then I looked at Nathalie Feisthauer's creations and there it is, Cedar Essence by Ferrari, which she made in 2014, and which features this friendly/posh/powdery blue impact but is more interesting and dynamic than 58 Avenue Montaigne.

I got this as a gift from my grandma. I can tell that she is a classy lady. This perfume opens with a strong alcohol scent, almost likea rubbing alcohol after shave kind of way. After it dries down the alcohol is much less in the way of the actual scent. This transports me back in time to the 1950s american household with a well kept together husband. He goes to work early in the morning and gets back just for time for lunch. He also goes to play snooker with his friends in the evening. Very citrusy and gentleman like. Not my style of fragrance but if you are looking for this vibe defo try it!

This smells like it has violet leaf but it's not listed in the notes. This one is really pleasant to my nose and while it doesn't project strongly, it does have some staying power. I disagree that this one is generic. It does have some sophistication to it and can be dressed up or down which speaks to its versatility. This can also be a unisex scent. It's not like much else on the market as far as modern scents go and smells much more expensive than what I paid for it.

I am not a fan of CH Men. I find it’s too sugary and weird to my nose. But this stuff takes the DNA and makes it fresher and more accessible. I actually agree a little with dina below, that it has sort of a (slightly) beachy vibe to it for some reason, which was unexpected. I was surprised by this fragrance. So far, I've gotten great performance from it, but I'll see if that continues to be the case or not.

I have it as a mini bottle sitting for ages on my shelf. I actually find it very sexy, and even a bit feminine; definitely not a super aggressive men's perfume and I would love it on someone. Unfortunately the mini bottle is cheaply made and leaks without its plastic plug, otherwise I would be carrying it around in my bag.

When I smelled 58 AMPH, the first thing that popped up in my mind was the beach... Yes, the sea smell mixed with suntan oil and sand... It's an aquatic/marine fragrance with a hint of sweetness. Very joyful and fun.. Though I'm a woman, I'd love to wear this one in summer, I find it very wearable and definitely unisex.

For me , it's better than passenger &passenger cruise cause of the grapefruit note as I can smell it for a long time regardless it's a top note but I don't think I will buy it again.

nice scent very close to dunhill black! & Givenchy Gentleman only! Very smooth scent 👌 perfect for the office & business meetings! Has also tobacco notes ❤️

This scent is my definition of an office fragrance. It smells like a sweetened tumble-dryer sheet. Clean and fresh, not over-powering, just professional.

Remember me Carolina Herrera CH Men less sugary. Longevity 6-8 hours with moderate sillage. Excellent inexpensive alternative to CH MEN. I love it
