Miss Dupont

ST DuPont seem to make nicely constructed quality fragrances. This one is no exception. Reading other people's reviews I notice how many people say it reminds them of something but what that something is seems to vary a lot! It puts me in mind towards the beginning of Lagerfeld's Sun, Moon Stars. But the dry down is different. The opening is light floral, almost fizzy with a bit of top note of citrus and peach. Then it goes very pleasantly rosy before an unexpectedly sultry dry down of dark earthy vetiver and amber. Whereupon the peach has another contribution to make but on a lower note and blending sweetly with a touch of vanilla. I would swear there was patchouli down there in the earthiness. Must be the vetiver. It's lovely all along. Feminine and subtle. And surprising.

This is a gentle, faintly fruity skin scent that reminds me a lot of Burberry Body, but is selling for a fraction of the cost. It won't shock or turn heads, but will keep you smelling pleasant the entire workday, simply enhancing your own scent (notes of peach and sandalwood tend to do that) plus the traces of shampoo or soap on your person. In the beginning, I get a very faint astringency from the grapefruit. The powdery rose aspect emerges after about an hour. Miss Dupont's seductive quality is in its subtlety. A blind buy that turned out better than I had expected.

I never thought that I could LOVE perfume, but here it is - Miss Dupont! I could only wish it to have better longevity, but actually it is not a problem- keep small bottle it your bag and spray whenever you want. And don't get me wrong, it is not that Miss Dupont fades away very fast, no. Mild and sophisticated scent stays very close to skin even 12h after spraying. Simply, if you want others to enjoy this beautiful fragrance on you, then some extra sprays during the day is needed.

This perfume is reminiscent of Jessica Simpson's Fancy Love due to the gentle peach note. It's definitely not the overly sharp and synthetic peach notes you get in bath and body products. Very polite peach :) There's a strong sandalwood smell in this perfume. To the point it reminds me of being in a sauna. So to sum it up, this perfume smells like eating a ripe peach in a sauna. Very calming and sensual.

An unexpected hit! I bought this blind-it was in the local 'bargains' shop and I thought I'd give it a go. To be honest, I'd never heard of ST Dupont, never mind any of their fragrances, but based on this one, I think I might keep a look out for them. This is a very well constructed and layered fragrance-its light and elegant, slightly sweet without being sickly, and a pleasant clean floral note, predominantly rose. There is a little fruitiness with the peach notes but this is very faint on me-normally I find fruity florals rather sickening but the fruity peach isn't overbearing and this is far more floral in type. There is a clean rose in the dry down, and then a warm wood and sandalwood, tempered with an understated and elegant vanilla. I'm not entirely sure what galbanum is supposed to smell like, but I didn't get any resinous or pine scent really, just a soft woody note that was smooth and calm. It is of reasonable longevity-I put it on at 7am in the morning and at 3.30 in the afternoon I was still getting soft wisps of powder and vanilla. I think the price in no way reflects the quality of this fragrance, and the bottle is absolutely gorgeous-very elegant. To me this is a summer day wear fragrance, quite 'young' but not girly and really very pretty all round.
