Passenger for Men

S.T. Dupon house is one of the oppressed houses that offer good quality perfumes, beautiful scents, good performance, and an affordable price, but very few mentioned it . This men’s perfume is the most famous perfume of this house, its beginning with many citruses that smell beautiful, but it lasts for a few minutes, then the pungent smell of ginger dominates the perfume with the presence of the pink pepper note and the wonderful smell of cardamom that I love, and finally the smell turns into an elegant formal woody scent. Sometimes I smell tobacco that is not present in the ingredients, and sometimes the cardamom note stands out more than usual, and this may be related to the degree of humidity or temperature, I do not know, however, this is a positive thing for the perfume. The perfume is very safe and easy to wear. It has a woody scent, but it is not heavy or dark, a pleasant smell, multi-use. The person who is looking for only one perfume for the whole year, this is a very good choice, because its scent is suitable for all seasons of the year, for day and night. I see it tending to the more formal side because of the luxurious and upscale wood notes, and because of its high longevity, acceptable price, and safe scent, so it is an excellent perfume for office work, however, it can be worn for various occasions even in open spaces because it sillage and projection is average. As for the ages, I do not think that high school students or young adults will prefer it, because of the notes of wood, cardamom and even ginger ، As for women, I can say that they like it as a classy masculine scent .

This is a very pleasing & warm fragrance smelling sweetish (lemon + lavender + some jasmine tea?) with some sharpish violet notes and a dominant but beautiful cardamom note. I think it is a modern hybrid of two classics: Azzaro PH and Givenchy PH in say a 30:70 split. Certainly not a "Wow!" fragrance for clubbing and the like, but definitely a clean, refined and reassuring scent for the type of gentleman you might see with greying temples in a Savile Row suit in St. James's London. As others have pointed out it also smells quite expensive, and there is a gravitas in this that makes it a fine choice for a businessman's scent in cooler weather - probably best suited to the over 35s IMHO. Lovely (faux?) leather-clad bottle too; however I don't like the name too much as "Passenger" sounds too timid, and its longevity on my skin is mildly disappointing. However as long as you spray a lot, the dry down is good and long lasting, reminding me a lot of the sweet gingery drydown of L'eau Pour Kenzo Pour Homme Indigo. Overall, very good value for money - I reckon it's one of the best office scents around and it could easily turn out to be a future classic.

Uh, what?..... Let me explain. Years ago I dropped acid and turned up on The Price is Right. When it was all over, I awoke in the drive-thu lane of a Captain D's...... In a BRAND NEW KIA M.F.!!! Yes, you got it. The "Big-Door-Prize"! And this is what you get when you blind-buy Passenger! I can't impress upon you enough, just how handsome, refined, distinct and versatile this fragrance is. What I smell: Every note in the scent pyramid. Seriously - every note. What she smells: A man that has his $#it together. Her extemporaneous remarks: "You smell like my step-dad's yacht club". Fragrances this fragrance would wear if it weren't already a fragrance: Cartier Oud Radieux, Frapin Bois Blanc, Nouvel Intérieur by Kia. Conclusion: For the money, this is the most polished fragrance I have ever encountered. I'm not sure why its Fragrantica rating is not higher, and so few fragrance lovers have picked up on it. Thankfully, S.T. Dupont has stuck with it. Basically, it's like a Lorax blotter-stamp and a crisp unemployment check. Just go for it. Everybody will be talking about you for years to come.

Somewhere in the tomes of unlisted notes, this unexpectedly well-composed fume opens with a strong menthol and citrus note that lingers for a few minutes before drying into a warm and nutty floral woodscent. At times I smell the pepper and other times it's a floral ginger and wood that comes forth. There is supposedly lavender in here but I can't really tease it out and the warm woods I can smell aren't really discernable either - but it is quite pleasant nonetheless. Throughout the day I caught whiffs of a creamy woodscent with a tinge of a mentholated floral note - sounds odd but it is truly pleasant! This present well in both heat and cold (the initial menthol note lasts significantly longer in the cold) and, despite the cheap price, this is quite a classy scent that is perfect even for formal wear. It's an accidental buy, when I was looking for best everyday scent which is refreshing with citrus and ginger, sales guy suggest a lot of expensive perfumes like Bleu de chanel, Dior sauvage, Versace pour homme, Aquva di gio, etc nothing attracts me because most of time i smell these scents almost everywhere in Singapore high class streets like Orchard, Raffles, at last the sales guy tired and don't want to entertain me, after 10 minutes suddenly a bulb lit in his mind he came and sprayed S.T. Dupont passenger omggg this is what I'm looking for it's an underrated gem which many didn't notice it. I use it everyday during hot summer and it's a stress buster for me. Initial spray open with ginger and citrus which lasts for 3 hours with moderate sillage and it become skin scent which lasts for 8 hours or more with soothing and fresh dry down till the end.

Another great one from Dupont. Strangely enough I get a minty and tobacco vibe, not the notes that are listed. And although this combination doesn't appeal to me at all, it really works. It's a fresh, unusual en sophisticated scent, long lasting and compliment getter, for an exceptional price. Only the bottle doesn't work for me, although classy and modern, it's too much. But this is a minor detail. Overall very satisfied with this purchase, makes me curious about the other Passenger-releases. Overall an 8, blind buy safe. try it!

This is a very interesting and complex fragrance. I was surprisingly drawn to this, given that I usually go for lighter citrus notes. This opens with a citrus note with a hint of ginger that quickly dries into warm, peppery, woody notes. There's hints of lavender, but very restrained. Complex, but a very pleasant composition. Surprisingly affordable, this is a scent that works well for the office and formal occasions. Longevity is excellent, I get around 8-10 hours out of it, with decent sillage.

A truly underrated scent that i am in deep love with! It is great in all terms of scent! It's spicy, it's bitter, it's sweet somehow, looks great, feels great, performs well and is cheap as dirt but smells expensive, generic, and classy... WOW scent! And indeed, "wow" was the first that i said when i sniffed it for the first time, and wow is what i am saying every time i put it on me! Underrated but i don't know why!

Got a 30ml today. Great blind buy. Smells very fresh,masculine and sexy. I get the citruses mixed with the spices-ginger,pink pepper and violet leaf. I imagine a good looking successful guy in his 30s wearing this fragrance. Performance is ok. For the price this is a very good fragrance.

I have another scent from S T Dupont, so I was curious about this scent. It's really good, so good that, I just purchased another bottle on Ebay, at an incredible price! This fragrance is not for the faint of heart...

Classy but not classic. This strange combination reveals a mossy result, Ginger and pink Pepper give character without spike. I love it.

A timeless and wonderful fragrance, but underrated.

Recently picked a 30ml of this one up for pennies and I am very pleasantly surprised. This is a zesty, fresh, spicy citrus fragrance with a resinous character. Right from rip I get a sort of nose-prickling spice from the pink pepper + cardamom + ginger along with a splash of citron. The zestiness sticks around through the life of the fragrance, but the resinous guaic + benzoin chord shortly emerges to soften things a bit. It's very, very classy, put-together and mature but not dated, and quite masculine. My gf immediately said it smells like something James Bond would wear and I absolutely get that impression as well, plus the bottle looks like it might be hiding a bomb detonating mechanism. Call me crazy, but it reminds me a lot of Dior Homme Sport 2021, but without that sort of annoying "modern" synthetic note and with a more subdued character. I have Dior Homme Sport 2021 and smelling them side-by-side there is an echo of sorts there. But I have to say, I vastly prefer Passenger - it's extremely classy and will be lovely in the warmer seasons with a nice fit. I imagine this + an olive green linen suit and a white shirt would be a perfect combination. I can tell already that the performance will not be that strong, but I'm honestly okay with that, especially for the price I paid and for the quality.

Certainly not the type of perfume that one should pursue thinking that it was missing from his collection. It is a nice addition but not a necessary one. That is what I think after purchasing it. Before, I was curious to try it. The scent is very clean and subtle; fresh with touch of smokiness. If you have tried Puig Quorum Silver, you already have an idea of what type of perfume Passenger is. Now, if you think Quorum Silver without the sweet part, you will know how Passenger smells like. I have both: the difference? After trying Quorum Silver for the first time I already knew that I will not be wearing this fragrance. After trying Passenger, I knew that I will be reaching for this bottle frequently. I am not sure if this is helpful for potential buyers, but, if you have Quorum Silver and you like it, try Passenger. If you do not have Quorum Silver, buy Passenger, and forget about Quorum Silver. Lasting time, about 5 hours, with powdery dry-down. Projection, close to the skin.

Passenger opens with heavy, deep masculine woody notes and rapidly evolves into Cardamom smelling spicy fragrance. To me Cardamom is the only dominant note in it especially in its heart and base. Anyhow after first few minutes the strong woody Passenger turns into light aromatic/aquatic fragrance. The dry down has got some tea notes in it as well and it slightly reminds me of Azzaro Chrome but not too much. There is no similarity b/w Tsar and Passenger. My personal favorite is its beginning, the dry down is ordinary and not that appealing. Silage and Longevity is Weak. Bottle is simple yet elegant completely covered in a leather piece with a chrome colored stopper on it. I give it 7 out of 10.

The citrus opening is quickly taken by the heat of the violet I feel a camphor chord formed right on the way out. With the rapid evolution to the base notes, I notice pepper and lavender working together, becoming the flagship and sustaining the now more rounded camphor chord. During drying, a woody character begins to appear, something between soapy and velvety, almost creamy (I believe it is due to the cardamom). Excellent, reminds me of Salvadore Ferregamo black (less green, drier). I would say that there are better choices for very hot days, apart from that it goes well with every occasion, a more mature audience, classic footprint marks territory without being oppressive.

Absolutely a Mature Elegant Fragrance, i bought it for my Father blindly and we loved it, somehow it's near to a mint, but in very elegant smell. It's obviously a mature perfume but I can wear it only when I am wearing a suit and driving a luxuriant car. :)

I was given a vial of this when buying something else. The most strong notes I get are pink pepper and ginger which is supported by woody under tones. Reminds me something else but I liked it. Proper for daily wear. Sillage and longevity is average.

I definitely detect patchouli at drydown. Nice scent, modest yet quite unique. Interesting spicy - smoky aura with some minty undertone. For cheap price you will get quality bottle with solid mature (but not old) scent. Versatile. 8/10

It's a THUMBS DOWN from me. It is called Passenger for a reason. It has NO PROJECTION. It has the performance of a cologne meant for a person about to board a plane who doesn't want to be thrown off the flight (hence the name Passenger). In other words, only the person sitting next to the passenger wearing this fragrance will smell anything. Don't get me wrong, I really like the light citrus bounce of the scent. The problem is that there is absolutely no projection or longevity. Great for plane flights and for work. I enjoy the scent but won't buy it again.

there is something I like it on it & there is something else I don't like too!! anyway in general ((for me)) it's not a bad perfume .. I can accept it but it's not that perfume which is catching my nose from the first smell & I fall in love with it.!!! there is nothing specail & I wouldn't like to buy it.... That's all ;-) P.S. I remember what I don't like inside it, I think I can smell something simlier to my father toothpaste smell inside it.

Passenger for Men by S.T. Dupont for me it's and ok fragrance not bad but not WOW either, I don't think I will buy it again or think about it again!

Have had my eye on this for the last couple of years, as it, much like most of the ST Dupont lineup, has flown under the general public's radar since 2008 and never drawn any attention. In other words, this seemed to have all the makings/components of a potential cheapie hidden gem. Verdict? It's decent. Especially if you factor in the low price (I bought a 100ml for $25 USD) The opening spray is all citrus (smells like a grapefruit and bergamot mix) and violet, but it's one of those fragrances where the opening collapses extremely quickly into the mid, which is a BIG ginger and pink pepper punch with the lavender providing a counterpoint/balancing smoothness. Extremely aromatic at this stage and fresh spicy. It's interesting that @polaroidcaesar brought up similarities to Dior Homme Sport 2021. I also own that particular Dior; however, when I smell them side by side, I don't really notice much resemblance. I mean I can kinddddd of see what they mean, as the pink pepper note specifically has definitely been utilized/blended by the perfumer in a similar way here, but the Dior has such an unmistakable dry down with the frankincense, elemi, and amber, which ultimately separates it. The magic of Dior Homme Sport is 100% in the dry down, and it really is doing its own unique thing there. Passenger instead dries down to a sweet, woody scent with a distinct punch of cardamom humming throughout this stage. You're going to need to be okay with cardamom as a note to enjoy this fragrance. There's this sweetened, "resinous" nature to the dry down, which 100% is the unmistakable smell of benzoin coming into the picture; this has literally the EXACT same benzoin note that I smell in my vintage bottle of Hermes Rocabar. The ginger and pink pepper still pop through during this stage as well, but mixed with the bitter cardamom and resinous sweet benzoin. At the far end of the dry down, this fragrance takes one final turn, and I begin to get distinct wafts of a guaiac + ginger + lavender + cardamom-scented shaving cream/barbershop-type of smell. I actually like this stage the most as the benzoin sweetness has calmed down a bit, shame its right at the end of the fragrances life span on skin. Both the cardamom and benzoin notes should be voted way higher than they currently are in the fragrance composition section above. They play a big part in the majority of the dry down. It is actually quite a sweet fragrance overall, so keep that in mind. There is an unfortunate, slight resemblance to certain air freshener/scented candle home products I've encountered in the past, which I can't help but think about. I'm not saying this is 100% that kind of smell, but I'm also not saying it's entirely not that kind of smell at the same time... Also, here I should point out an obvious negative. To my nose, the ingredients in this definitely smell budget; this is 100% aroma-chemical/synthetic smelling territory. As an example, something like Dior Homme Sport 2021 smells A LOT better quality than this (contrary to what the guy below me wrote). Can't be too harsh, though, considering that often comes with this price point, but yeah, if you're used to expensive fragrances with high-quality ingredients, then this will definitely smell a bit screechy/chemical to you. It does to me. Longevity is actually extremely impressive with my specific bottle; today it lasted around 10+ hours on my skin with consistent sillage, and afterward it still radiated as a skin scent for more hours. I get strong wafts of this well into the evening after spraying in the morning. And this stuff clings to my skin like a mollusk; I can still smell it on my skin after scrubbing the area with soap in the shower, even the following morning when I wake up. Kind of crazy. Perhaps I have a super old bottle, and it was reformulated later? Also, something to note is that these remaining discontinued bottles are really showing their age. The leather/pleather covering on my bottle arrived all cracked and is already starting to disintegrate when I touch it lightly with my fingers. Kind of remarkable the juice inside hasn't turned considering the obvious age of these bottles. Is it a hidden gem? Depends on what you pay for it; anything under $30 USD is a good price for this fragrance imo. However, I don't personally "love" it. It's a "like". For me, ST Dupont Essence Pure Pour Homme is still the true hidden-gem cheapie from this house. I actually wouldn't wear this outside the house too much; not that I'd be embarrassed, but more so because I've just got so many better-smelling, higher-quality fragrances than this. I genuinely think some people's reaction to smelling this in public would be "smells like someone has a nice air freshener turned on nearby," not "smells like someone has a nice perfume sprayed on nearby." Edit: There's definitely patchouli lurking in the background of the dry down even though it's not listed in the notes above. Edit 2: I know that fragrance names are pure nonsense most of the time and not even worth a moment's thought. But calling this "Passenger" doesn't really make sense to me at all. Yeah, it uses ingredients that were traditionally considered "exotic" (lol), like cardamom, benzoin, and pink pepper, but the fragrance itself doesn't evoke any sensory feelings of travel or adventure to me, unlike something like Hermes Voyage EDT, which does. This is a decent fragrance if you buy it cheaply, but I also think this is 100% one of those bottles you end up forgetting about, gathering dust at the back of your collection. Edit 3: Yeah, this is total air-freshener territory, or like a scented candle you'd buy from a home goods/homeware store. Honestly smells like stepping into Crate & Barrel, Williams-Sonoma, or Arhaus to buy a sofa haha. You get what you pay for. It's 100% wearable, definitely not a scrubber, smells pleasant, but this smells uncannily like when your girlfriend/wife makes you smell all of the scented candles at a homeware store. It's only, as I mentioned above, at the far end of the dry down, when it turns into more of a shaving cream/barbershop that I really gel with it, but again that's right at the end of the fragrance's lifespan, so you don't get to experience that specific smell for long. Hope my review helps anyone else considering a blind buy. 7.25/10 (really more of a 7, but bumped up to 7.25 due to the low price)

It is complex, sweet, a bit sharp, a bit "official", masculine perfume. Scent is like a chorus - belling by hundred balanced voices. Opening reminds me drydown of "L'Eau par Kenzo pour Homme", but much more stronger and sharper than Kenzo. It is not for relaxation, it is for busy office (as well as greeny STDupont pour homme). The scent is "expensive" and a little bit "cofee-vanilla-like", but you will not smell that "vanilla" itself. It is rather tobacco-like. The drydown is a bit green and reminds me Van Cleef's "Tzar". After carefull consideration - I am not sure that combination "classy tobacco" + "classy green a'la Tzar" would be always natural scent. Anyway it sounds "expensive" and classy. I wish to know - how STDupont makes perfume smelling "expensive"?

This perfume is very bizarre , It's not bad & it's not good ...Simply it's not for everyone ..My best friend used to wear many of the Hugo Boss varieties , like any other ambitious young man in his 20's .It suited him nicely with his ultra muscly fit body & very short hair cut ..After a few years he switched to this when he became an already successful young businessman , but this smell wasn't good on him at all ! ..It was as if he was trying too hard , he didn't need it ..Don't get me wrong it's a masculine , elegant good smell but if a guy was "naturally " masculine he doesn't need this perfume .. It's good for a rich man with a designer suit in his 50's , who was a strong young man one day...

I like the first part of this scent. It's some kind of classic smell, but cooled down by some modern and/or fresh scent. Could be a mint, but this fresh aspect which I like probably comes from ginger-pepper-citruses combination. But somehow it gets boring over the time, when all the freshness is gone. I feel like this scent is to be used for one or two hours only, just the time I enjoy it ":¬);

I like this one. i brought it few days back from Dubai. Only problem I'm facing with it is longevity.. I live in Bangladesh where temperature is over 30 deg C. It is not lasting long on me. The smell is awesome. I wish it could stay more on me..

I applied it not on my skin but my T-clothe (cotton) and closed the wdrobe for one day. To my suprise the day after I took the wear on me and the scent was even more pleasant kinda of more razor and penetrating with richfull novel scents.

I felt in love with it. I can't tell which note is resposible for that but for me is the most beautiful perfumes I've ever smelled. Please write more about colognes which are similar to Passenger, I will use only something like this.

Something about this reminds me of going through an airport. From the VIP lounge to the WC,from the fake nice to the nasty, and back. I am glad I only bought the 30 ML version, won't buy again.

I recommended this fragrance to a friend of mine 5 years ago and he still use it, may be it is his 10th bottle of it, and love it. For me this perfume is very classy, masculine and mature.

This fragrance reminds me a cheaper, weaker, watered version of Omega Aqua Terra.
