Scarlett Lady

*Scarlett Lady* is a beautiful rose-centric perfume. I'll start there. Does it lean feminine? Yes. I find most rose perfumes lean feminine. is it "powdery"? Yes. Too powdery? No. Is it complex? Hmmmm....good question. It's not *simple*. From the company website (edited....drastically) >>> "....this scent pays homage to a group of lesser known figures of classic Americana... the flirtatious Burlesque women of the Wild West." ((I like that....a lot.)) >>> "A scent to capture figures less spoken of from a bygone era...the women who sauntered through double saloon doors. The Burlesque women, perched atop the dusty piano, dolled-up in frilly dresses, flashing a garter belt stuffed with cash. She had a powdered face and wore bright red lipstick; she held a drink in one hand (it was likely colored water) and a long cigarette holder in the other. Her presence could not be overlooked. "Scarlett Lady" offers an olfactory tribute to these colorful figures of the Wild West." ((That paints quite a picture.)) NOTES: TOP: Bergamot, Vintage Rose, Rose de Mai, Tuberose, Marshmallow :: MIDDLE: Suede, Lipstick (Iris), Gin, Tobacco :: BASE: Greater Sagebrush (Tumbleweed), Cedarwood Plank Floor, Unwashed Garter Belts (Body Musk), Vintage Musk. I don't detect (individually) a lot of those notes....which is fine with me; they get along beautifully with each other. *Scarlett Lady* is not a modern perfume; it doesn't want to be. In fact....it could be a re-release of a vintage perfume from the 1800s. I find that revelation wonderfully refreshing. 9/10

This is a “dirty rose”. One that smells like woman.. if you get me. It’s special. Wink wink

Absolutely beautiful fragrance

Fragrance Journal Entry #156 So this is one i picked in the sample set along with it's partner "Wanted Dead or Alive", i knew going into it that this would be a feminine scent but i had to try it out based on the notes. So the opening is a bit grandma-ish, it's a familiar "old lady" smell, heavy powdery florals with some fresh citrus and musk, the iris is definitely lipsticky but not overly so, it certainly adds to the old feel of the fragrance, where things stand out for me is in the dry down...the powdery nursing home smell starts to fade and in comes gin and tobacco notes, very dry but not piercingly so. Overall i think for the theme they were going for they nailed it in this fragrance, it's just not for me personally. Rating: 6.5/10 Blind Buy Safe? NO

My favorite from Statik so far! I’m not a rose lover, but I do love “vintage” scents & the soft rose petals in this fragrance are perfectly balanced by a “dusty” antique musk & a very soft, powdery marshmallow. You get the waxy element of the lipstick/iris with this cool tobacco undertone. It smells exactly like the description.. you’re in an old wooden saloon, there’s a lady with red lipstick sitting on the bar with money in her garter belt. She’s a wearing a powdery vintage fragrance of plush rose & suede.
