Harrods Ruby Naga

Love love love love. The signature smooth, dusty, powdery nuance from the house of SHL is just irresistible to me and my favorite vibe on a perfume. This scent is dusty vanilla, almond, fruity cocoa powder fluffy cloud incarnate. It smells amazing. And the best part: it is really very similar to my favorite scent of all times: orchidee vanille. Thanks to SHL for making the best scent in the world with actual great performance! As many know, orchidee vanilla is a ghost scent w zero performance. This is the higher quality version of it. Smells a million bucks, so happy i finally have a bottle! Awesome for all year round.

I really like this. Really like it actually. It does resemble Orchidee Vanille by Van Cleef & Arpels quite a lot. This is an elevated version of it for sure but it’s resemblance to it is is definitely there. I owned that fragrance many years ago and only parted ways with it due to poor performance. I’d say this performs better for sure but it’s still not great, especially considering the price and exclusivity. To be fair I only had a 1.5ml decant of it to spray & it is summer and very hot/humid where I live so maybe in colder weather and or if I had a FB it would work better. I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt for now. Scent alone is a definite yes for me but the low projection upsets me. I bet I’ll still get a full bottle though 🙄😆😌 you only live once, right?

short version: dusty. it’s giving dusty. nope, nope, nope. especially at this price point. the long(er) version: the almond makes this slightly bitter and the orris makes it slightly dusty. there are these sweet, fruity floral nuances that are nice but the almond and orris make this a “no” for me. i do think it needs something to bring those other (fruity floral) notes down and out of the clouds (and to keep them from being too sweet and overwhelming) but the result is a fleeting fruity floral leaving behind a basic, dusty (ever so slightly peppery/dusty) vanilla. pass.

Beautiful powdery vanilla that is similar to the ones listed above (Van Cleef & Arpels Orchidee Vanillee and etc) it’s nice and pleasant, but I still don’t understand what makes it so much more expensive than other fragrances from the same La Collection Serpent.

pretty fragrance. I don't get any of the fruits, except maybe a little orange? Mostly an orris heavy vanilla. Definitely get some almond.
