Blackberry Heartwood

What a beautiful scent. You do get the blackberry but there’s also a lovely green and slight woods to compliment it so it’s not just a big berry! It’s a whole vibe. I am using my sample and will be ordering a full size. * not listed here but available on the website is my current true love, “Candelere.” Hard to describe but it’s got honey, fireweed, sweet woods, and my nose just totally obsessed with it! It lasted through the whole night on the back of my hand- perfume oil. I love this perfumer. The creator of these scents is very inspired and has really intrigued my nose to try more. “Neon Noir” has an interesting cannabis note.

This is one of my absolute true loves. I have both the rollerball and the new EDP formula. It makes me feel like I have an apothecary in the woods and I gathered blackberries in a woven basket while talking to the birds. It's pretty, natural, unique, and uplifting, and somehow darling? I didn't know I needed it in my life, but I often spray just on my collar so I can smell it from time to time.

Starting out, I get very ripe blackberry, some rosey honey, and a hint of wood. Woodsy spice emerges more as it dries. Honey isn't listed as a note, but I'm smelling it here. It brings a sunshiney feeling to the scent. I don't find that this scent literally smells like picking/eating raspberries; it isn't quite tart enough for that. However, it still feels pleasantly nostalgic. It evokes sense memories through its component parts - honey in a relative's kitchen, berries and weeds in a warm field, woods in the summertime. After a longer drydown, the blackberry is much more faint; I get honeyed woods with green weeds. The blackberry scent kind of waxes and wanes after this point, which is nice. With the sticky fruit and spicy woods, I find this scent really sexy. I like wearing it on dates. I also think it's quite pleasant in the winter despite being so summery. There's a headiness to it that I find pleasant in cold weather.

It starts out with a rich, almost jammy blackberry note. Then it turns into a strange oily, resinous accord- almost like pine tar mixed with Vaseline. It wears off after about five hours, though, so at least you’re not stuck smelling like greasy pine tar all day 😕

The quality in this juice for the price you pay makes me feel like I'm ripping off the creator. If this was bottled up proper with INITIO slapped across the front people would be singing it's praises across the lands. Instead, you get this unassuming little bottle with a cheap sticker for a label. But as they say people .....it's what's on the inside that counts 🤌🏻 Realistic blackberry scent? ✔️ Amazing projection and longevity? ✔️ Niche quality fragrance for $34? Double check ✔️✔️ There's a slight greenness that slips through and makes me think of blackberry on the stem. It's gorgeous. Doesn't smell like any other berry, you will know this is unmistakably blackberry. The natural tart of the fruit balances the sweetness to create a symphony. They only come in 30 ml but for the price just buy three and keep one in your car. A quick spray to the back of the neck before arriving at your destination will produce this wonderful sillage as you stroll about .....smelling of divinity. Go for the EDP spray instead of the oil if you're expecting 6+ hrs. Kinda want this to stay low-key so nobody else can smell like me, kinda want to mass market for them and tell the world they need to be on this shit ASAP!!! I'm conflicted people. It's just so good.
