I am surprised this scent haven't gotten more reviews, since this is my absolute favorite perfume- of all time. It really blew my mind, and so far I haven't come across anything as amazing. It has this heavy smokey scent that is central. It reminds me of my childhood summers in the Swedish island of Gotland. The fishing huts, the warm tar which the fishermen used to paint the rowboats with and the late sunset glow. Simultaneously it reminds me of a late evening dancing in vibrant Stockholm, as well as in Tel Aviv. The smokiness provides a sexy, sensual and definite sense. On my skin, the perfume brings out a warm vanilla tone, which grows by time. Usually I am not a fan of vanilla, but in the heavy wooden-smoke I find it appropriate, since it makes it more sweet and feminine. To finish with, I would very warmly recommend this unique, heavy and sensual scent. I would recommend it for evening use as well as for a hot summer day. Go buy it, for God's sake!

I love this but it's definitely going to be a polarizing scent, I don't think you could be neutral on this. It's very distinct. To me, the cypriol and vetiver come through strongly and give a bit of an insence-herbal/patchouli feel? The smokiness comes through in a balanced-sweet way. There's a lot going on here, it's a little complex. It feels sunny and cold, wet and piney. It reads masc to me. It's giving cold, snowy, sunny winter morning with the hot coals still burning from the campfire the night before. Definitely try a sample first. I wouldn't buy a whole bottle because I wouldn't wear it that often as the general public might not receive it well! I would wear it at home or on a date night.

Somehow this fragrance captures the scent of snow and smoke. It floods the senses and you feel as if you’re on a sunny mountain top and like the Finnish soldier Aimo Koivunen you could inadvertently pop an overdose of army-issued meth and traverse over 400 km on a pair of skis. The top notes of Bergamot and Immortelle are beautiful blended, producing the fresh, heady scent of wild flowers. The middle notes of pine and fig leaf give it all a spiciness made lighter by the ozonic notes. The finish is sugary and smoky, the malt clinging to all scents at once. This is a truly delightful fragrance.

This is such a unique and outstanding scent, i love it! I Have never smelled anything like this before, but still it gives a clear image to the story they made with it. Smells dark, smoky and kind of electrtic, but at the same time very clean from the pine note. The sugar and malt notes give it a yummy and grounded sweetness, without being suffocating. It really do smell like a misty thunderstorm, or something alien/ghostly which do not belong in this world. Even tho this is very unique, it is definitely a good everyday scent for an energetic confidence boost!

A smoky, sugary enigma drifting out of nowhere, like something conjured by the sea itself. Mistpouffer is sweet but never cloying, green but never sharp—a blend of opposites that feels as mysterious as the phenomenon it’s named after. Just like those unexplained booms over the water, there’s no clear explanation here. It’s haunting and a little surreal, a scent you feel as much as smell. Do I understand it? No. But that’s what pulls me in. Like a mistpouffer, it’s a sensory riddle that leaves you lingering, waiting for that next echo on the wind.

My favourite Stora Skuggan fragrance! The inspiration is mysterious and mystical, and it could've been done too literally, or too abstract, but this fragrance hits just the right spot! You can feel the slow soothing waves of the water as you hear a Immortelle scented low humming noise, sweetened incense adds to the unease. Everything in this fragrance feels like it's covered in the Silent Hill milky fog, and that's my favourite thing about it. Very artistic, and I think that it uses the Stora Skuggan medium the best out of their fragrances.

Mistpouffer by Stora Skuggan might be one of the most unique scents I’ve ever tried. It’s deep, woodsy, and comforting, like being wrapped in a thick sweater on a quiet November evening. On my skin, it takes on this beautiful cardamom-like warmth that makes it feel both mysterious and incredibly cozy. If you love Pine by Stora Skuggan but find it a bit too loud or intense, Mistpouffer is a stunning alternative. It still captures that forest atmosphere, but in a more grounded, intimate way. I can’t wait to buy a full bottle this fall!

Mistpouffer is a supernatural masterpiece that has quickly become one of my most treasured perfumes. Douglas fir and dark smoke, followed by a beautiful feathery malted sugar dry down. It remains low pitched, yet soft and spacious throughout, like a distant foghorn echoing off the horizon. Something about the fir tree and sugar combined brings to mind artisanal candy cane. Whimsical and strange, the perfect fragrance to wear during winter or summer solstice festivities.

this one is SO GOOD. something about it works incredibly well on my skin, and my friends comment every time they get a whiff while i'm wearing it. so sweet, piney, green. it reminds me of when my dad used to take me golfing when i was a kid, the smell of the clubhouse and the contrast of the air-conditioned indoors vs the blazing heat outside... a gem, a winner, so delicious. hard to name. try this on if you get a chance, the bottle really evolves on your skin.
- em inglês
Sugary smoke with pine/woody notes blended in. Its surprisingly fresh in the first 1-2 hours, then it goes sweet and slightly smoky. It's quite unique and different from what I've tried, friends who smelt it, find it weird but very likable. I'm liking it a lot, its making me feel both mature, yet playful, if that makes sense. Performance is good on me as well. Mistpouffer grows on me with every wear, however, its still a bit expensive.

Of the 5 Stora Skggan samples I have, I initially thought that this was one of my least favorite. That has changed now, its possibly a favorite, along with moonmilk. This starts as a fresh citrusy scent with sweetened smokey, pine & floral notes that settles to be a slightly more smokey & incense-y. I kind of like it a lot. Its like a warm complex hug. It might actually be preferred over moonmilk, cant decide.
- em inglês
It starts screechy, but resounds softly into the aura as it dries down. Some days I can smell the sugar, some days I can't. The description conveys something supernatural and I'm going to have to agree. Will wear this in the upcoming fall season and perhaps on Halloween itself. This is for those who have a predisposition for following the white rabbit in the woods and creeping the rest of their small town out.
- em inglês
A unique scent. rbalkris has detailed the scent well. I get the same interesting citrus and immortelle that is slightly sweetened..then the citrus falls away, and pine and very slight fig come in. The sweetness stays around...and it is a malted sweetness. But this is not a sweet or syrupy fragrance in spite of that. The ozonic notes give it some lightness. I see this being worn during the spring and summer.
- em inglês
This is one of my prized perfumes, I just love it so much! It really just takes 1 spray for me to be smelling good all day, and on me if lasts forever. I cannot explain the scent, other than it's both sweet, woody, floral, everything. I smell sugar for some reason on me. It's just compelling, and I keep smelling myself whenever I wear it. It is expensive for a 30ml bottle, so I do have to wear it sparingly.
- em inglês
I would say that this smells far closer to what i expected ”By the fireplace” by Masion Margiela to smell like. It evokes a vivid scene of a campside fireplace in a dense pine forest, there is a certain misty/smoky characteristic to it, but it doesn’t leave you reeking of smoke like a true campfire does. Leans masculine to my nose, but it has a northern forest charm that can be worn by anyone.
- em inglês
This is what you'll catch me smelling like on any given day from august to march. It's very unique, sweet and balsamic, woody, like the mist that rolls over the northern fens in Finland or elsewhere in scandinavia. It's sort of airy and the sweetness of malt sugar dances with pine and marsh tea flowers.Perfectly unisex, though leans perhaps slightly masculine on the dry-down. Lasts ALL DAY.
- em inglês
I’ve been super impressed by all the fragrances I’ve tried from Stora Skuggan but mistpouffer might be my favorite. It opens with a bright foresty scent with pine and citrus and quickly blends into something deeper and smokier. I cannot get over how realistic the burnt sugar note is. The dry down is absolutely gorgeous. I feel like I’m walking through a sweet and smoky fog all day.
- em inglês
Never smelled anything like this, immediately fell in love. It smells like stepping out of a luxurious outdoor sauna into a dense pine forest with a campfire burning down to it's coals, while looking out over a fog covered lake (take me there). I'm testing it in late summer now, but I think this scent will really shine in the colder months ahead.
- em inglês
The opening gives me a headache though the scent is ok. Sweet and herbal with an underlying distant fresh breeze. Drydown is warm, spicy and sweet. But not what I expected from the name. Not damp, misty or foggy, just a tiny breeze of wind with herbs and cloying sweetness. After it has become a skin scent it transforms so addicting... sniff
- em inglês
Beautiful! Perfect balance between feminine and masculine, warm and fresh spicy. The sugar is the dealbreaker, that will make my purchase this. I would wear this in the colder months since it is pretty woody and comforting, not of summertime personally. Lastly, the design of the bottle and cap is so special, eye catching to say the least.
- em inglês
starts off Christmas forest, ends up Christmas cookies. I wish the sugar didn't intensify so much on me. EDIT: The ozonic pine forest opening is so crisply cold and deliciously singular that I can live with the sugar crystals. anti-corny but still sincere Christmas scent for Halloween lovers. she’s crazy but I still want her
- em inglês
Stunning. Wasnt sure of the notes at first- it just felt nostalgic. Pine starts to make its way to the front as it settles. Really transportive. Could be a perfect lowkey christmas scent, actually. I’m getting a bit of shaving cream and I like it- it grounds it as a whole
- em inglês
Unusual combo of green, sweet, piny, smoky, savory (??) and aromatic notes. Even though it sounds crazy, the scent itself is very nice and wearable. For me it also smells like some absinthe based cocktail with herbs and burnt sugar. Lovely! Follow me on IG: scent.guide

Beautiful dense, earthy peppery spicy scent - dark green to dark blue with hint of a violet transition between. More male or for brave woman. Like a gothic chapel hidden in a pine forest that hadnt reveal its last secret...
- em inglês
Hansel & Gretel stumbling upon a candy house in the middle of a smoggy pine forest. Mistpouffer is exactly that scent. sugary smoke reaching far out, luring them to the witch’s den. one of my favorites for spooky season.
- em inglês
Pine forest, tar and smoke, fresh, natural, rich and bold. It has a very strong character and is quite unique. I must say that I’m obsessed with this absolutely beautiful perfume and own two bottles of it.
- em inglês
Genuinely one of the best fragrances i’ve come across. Woody but sweet and it makes sense. The perfume evokes memories that dont exist and places you in a forest setting just from the smell alone.
- em inglês
Sweet, smoky and weird. A scent likely to infiltrate and contort your dreams while you writhe in a tent. Laura and Donna dancing on the mountain in Twin Peaks. Comforting but also unsettling.
- em inglês
one of my most worn perfumes (on my second bottle)! i personally get a nice pink peppercorn note from this one which i love. feels refined but in a really unique way.
- em inglês
Smells like you’re at an open air disco out in the forest on a crisp evening. It’s run by elves. They have a fog machine there fashioned out of an old pine tree.
- em inglês
I love this. My bf says I smell like trees and aspertame, which is the first time he's ever been able to discern notes from perfume.
- em inglês
Green, smokey and flickers of bitter sweetness. This is a stand out from the house. Very interesting.
- em inglês
This turns into PURE smoke on my skin but it smells absolutely stunning on my partner.

Stora Skuggan is a brand that has intrigued me for a couple of years. I was pleasantly surprised to happen upon testers in a small, quirky shop when shoe-shopping. I had to Google the name "Mistpouffer" when I initially heard of this scent, being unfamiliar with the mysterious sonic phenomenon with which this scent shares its name. As well as an interesting learning exercise, it is a surprisingly fitting name for this unique scent. Mistpouffer is an unusual woody scent made from high-quality ingredients. Warm, rich and realistic, it is nuanced and surprisingly sweet at times, yet feather-light. Woody from the beginning, Mistpouffer opens with something akin to freshly-hewn cedar and a lovely green fig leaf note. I love fig-forward perfumes, but here it is just one small facet of the composition, perfectly placed. There is a hay-like grassiness in there too. It becomes increasingly pine-like as it develops, beautifully realistic, resembling a conifer forest. There is a lovely airy weightlessness to Mistpouffer too, despite the rich woody notes. As it develops, it becomes slightly smoky and sweet - the sugar cube note makes perfect sense! The pine-like woodiness remains. The vetiver becomes more prominent as it dries down, dry, woody and grassy. The grainy hops also emerge during the drydown phase. There is a slight sweet amber quality to the drydown also, complementing the woodiness nicely. Sillage and longevity are moderate. Perfectly unisex, this is best worn on crisp autumn days. An excellent, unusual woody scent, it somehow reflects its mysterious inspiration to perfection. 4/5.

Mistpouffer is a distinctly woody and smoky fragrance, with noticeable sweetness, earthy depth, and balsamic nuances. The natural phenomenon it’s named after is fascinating in itself; a muffled, cannon-like boom heard from within the mist. That said, the scent doesn’t quite translate this sonic boom for me. Instead, it evokes the image of a cedarwood fire, with smoke carrying a softly sweet note; almost like marshmallows gently browning over embers; blown toward you by the wind. This isn’t meant in a gourmand sense; rather, it highlights the interplay between sweetness, wood and smoke. At its core, the woody character is unmistakable and firmly in the foreground, wrapped in balsamic and aromatic elements. The opening leans herbal and piney, while the drydown shifts toward a more dominant woodiness. I also pick up an earthy vetiver as it settles. I wouldn’t call it exceptionally unique, as it closely aligns with the bold, ambery-smoky-wood-forward style often found in Amouage’s masculine line; that recognizable vein of smoky woods, vetiver, and sweet accents (sometimes amber). None are identical, of course, but they clearly belong to the same olfactory family. Aside from the sweetness that goes a bit overboard, it’s still a nice scent. Tag(s): aromatic sweet, woody-balsamic, earthy-vetiver

A sonic boom of bergamot, resinous pine and tarry cypriol laced with a touch of smoke rolled over me just after trying Mistpouffer for the first time. It’s intense, and brought to mind what a room full of raw pine furniture would smell like drenched in lemon furniture oil and then lit on fire. While it was intriguing, it did give me a bit of a headache. Within about half an hour though it mellowed into a lemony pine kind of confection, lightly dusted with sugar.... This stage was nice, if a bit bland. As it aged on my skin, it got even sweeter and more confectionery, with a toothsome feeling of density. This part reminds me a bit of Ani by Nishane, though not as sweet. At no time did I get any marine notes and this was definitely not what I expected. The dry down loses a lot of that sweetness and becomes a wisp of smoke with an aromatic green base and just a touch of something leathery or incensy which I’m guessing is the cypriol again. It’s lovely, and slowly starts to fade away and is pretty much gone at the 7 hour mark. The opening of this really projects, but it calms down quickly into an arms length fragrance.

🌲 A Bonfire in the Ruins and a Deceptive Elixir ⚔️ Kaelen dropped to one knee, shrugging the weight of his dented armor off his shoulders. A thick, ozonic fog was devouring the dark pine forest, forcing him to seek refuge in the ruins of a long-forgotten chapel. On the cold stones inside the remains burned a small bonfire made of resinous, still-green branches. Beside it sat a hooded figure, slowly stirring a cast-iron cauldron. The smell of biting smoke and wet pine needles pierced the air, but a thick sweetness, utterly out of place, rose from the cauldron. The stranger wordlessly handed the weary traveler a clay vessel. The black brew smelled of herbal immortelle, scorched malt, and melted sugar. Kaelen took a deep sip. The alchemical sweetness immediately wrapped his senses in a false warmth, effectively lulling his vigilance. Before he realized it was a trap, the suffocating fog rushed into his lungs, and the figure by the fire melted into the darkness. All that remained was the sticky scent of burnt sugar, mingling with the raw, resinous gloom of the falling night. TikTok: @the.scent.files

A twilit fantasy forest: dark conifers, pale wildflowers, the distant smoke of a mountain village. The kind of mystic glen you’d see airbrushed on the side of a van or the cover of a D&D manual. Starts as sappy pine before easing into windswept lavender, cold and honeyed. There’s no lavender listed in the official notes, but I think the pine oil, crisp ozonics, and sweet immortelle fuse into the perfect illusion. Something about the drydown also makes me think of Lush’s “Twilight” bath-bomb. It lasts over a whole day in fabric and gets sweeter by the hour, finishing as an herbal sugar cube. Soothing, but slightly spooky. One for the kids who used to draw unicorns and kelpies in the margins of their homework (me). Mental Snapshot: You find it in the heart of the wood, capering about a thermal spring. Half hotblood, half forest mist. Its coat is smooth and lustrous as opal, its corkscrewing ivory as long as a greatsword. You implore it to grant you a wish, but it bares its teeth and hisses into a plume of pale vapour that does nothing but make your garments smell pleasant. tl;dr: unicorn forest 🦄🌲

man was this a hit to the nostrils when i first applied it. i felt like i was tasting it and my eyes burnt from it. contrary to what you might be thinking i actually did like this though. it has great longevity. the scent itself was just so surprising to me as i havent smelt much perfumes with these notes. if i had to describe it as a feeling or a situation or whatever, id imagine it as this: you walk into a nordic witchs hut who's in the midst of a *slightly* evil spell, where she's grinded the bark of trees and firs from outside and started burning incsence during it. she also prefers her tea overly sugared and the smell of it has mixed with the smell of bruning. its very unique, i find that a con is that for the life of me i cannot think of a situation in which this is wearable, its so strong and so unique that i can only wear it chilling around the house (i bought a sample). also sue me but the big ass ball as a cap is ghastly
- em inglês
Now this was an intriguing scent for me... The floral-sweet elements really work with the woods here, with both adding to each other and making the scent work. There's a touch of quirk in the background, which is TOTALLY my thing, and with that, I would like to try this out again, maybe in a more controlled environment. Big like. ***EDIT*** It sits on the softer side of the fence, in my opinion... Sweetened woods and some citrus in the background, but I think I need to 'live in' this, meaning, I need to wear it and NOTHING else, which is not something I've done a lot of in the last 6 or so years. Maybe fewer than 10 times, if I'm being honest... I'm leaning towards a 'no', I think, just because I don't think it's doing enough. I mean, it's a pleasant scent, but I'm not sure it's blowing me away. At this stage, a scent bloody well needs to be weird-unique or elevated beyond all others. That's just how it be.
- em inglês
I finally figured out what this reminds me of! It opens up very sharp, a fist full of sugar and pine. I can see why there are so many comparisons to lush fragrances as there is a remarkably similar dna. But when it dries down, that's when the real magic begins to happen. This is not the kind of cold, peltrichor fog you could expect to encounter in a damp autum forest, far from it. The texture hits your nose in the exact same way a smoke machine used in a club or a concert would - dry, warm, lightly sweet, it occupies all of your senses at once and encapsulates you in it's own world. For a moment it makes you forget about the people around you - a sensory deprivation that forces you to singularly feel your own body, the bass of the sound systhem reverberating through it, the flashing lights illuminating the mist that fills it with it's heavy levity.
- em inglês
Starts somewhat woody with bergamot/citrus. Goes quickly smoky as well. Then I really get the pine and some cypriol spicy. This feels like a walk in some warm dry woods and trees with sap on them - on a mountaintop. It is truly unisex - and after spending a couple of days trying out white florals, this feels very welcome. Much later I get the vanilla. It doesn't seem as strong for me as it is for other reviewers. I enjoy the subtlety. I'd previously reviewed Thumbsucker, but I think I like this one more as being much less sweet. I really enjoyed where it ended up an hour in... and I keep smelling my hand and wrist... wood and smoke and vanilla. Like I came out of the woods am sitting at a wood table in a cabin - with small flowers in a vase and something vanilla flavored on the table.
- em inglês
Sit still, for a bit. And be patient. The opening swirls around for a while as it morphs into what I thought was something sticky and amber when testing blind. While the sweetness stays the aromatic calms to a darker green herbal with a fire off in the distance. An intriguing fragrance that needs some time to settle. His later though it still projects nicely and it's true character is more familiar. For me it's mostly the pine, cypriol, and vetiver, with everything else breezing by in a light cloud of the smoke. What I like about this is the sugar, which without would maybe leave this very dry and herby earthy, but here it's almost like some sticky resin thing which gives it character.and makes it more unisex and I would argue appealing. Now, do I like it for myself? I don't know.
- em inglês
This perfume is super unique, and I'm a sucker for the spooky natural phenomenon backstory. Makes me feel like I'm wearing something supernatural, bottled. I liked how wintery this perfume smelled. In the first few seconds, it was smokey and incensey, but very soon the pine and vetiver come through. For the most part, it smells like a foggy, clouded forest at dusk. Later, the sugar note sets in with the pine to bring up an ever so slight winter holiday aroma. My partner and I agreed there was something nostalgic about it - like maybe a soap our mom's may have put out when we were young. I will say I feel slightly noseblind to some piece of it as the smell got harder to detect within minutes - so I wouldn't purchase for that reason. But God, the bottle... obsessed.
- em inglês
Mistpoufffer is quite the anomaly, just as it sets out to be. The opening is so sharp and medicinal - it immediately made me think of unsmoked tobacco even though there's no tobacco in here. It's a very strong, sweet, green pine with thick, resinous undertones. Dries more soft, sugary and malty. The sweetness combined with the smoky green notes make for something completely unique and unforgettable. I'm not normally one to put perfumes in a box, but this is not a fragrance I'd wear every day. In my opinion, this is great for those times you want to remember - wear it to a certain place or event or during a certain time period that you don't want to forget.
- em inglês
bright, sugary, and mentholic pine. the fig leaf and cypriol give this a deep greenness, and with the ozonic notes, this is a sweet scent that still feels very refreshing. the smokiness definitely reads more resinous incense than campfire it's a really interesting scent that blends pine with sweetness in a very compelling way. if you're looking for a winter scent, this is worth smelling edit: i've worn this a few times this winter and it's really grown on me. sweet without being cloying, deliciously cold resinous pine, this is such a well done conifer scent. cozy and refined in equal measures
- em inglês
this is like the smell of a substitute bus. i've never heard anyone describe it before but it's like a core memory for me because it was always that same smell: back in elementary school when you unexpectedly had a substitute bus driver and it wasn't the same bus as usual. there's different kids' names on notecards above the seats, which are a different color than on your usual bus and patched up with duck tape, and there's a funky, bad breath sort of smell in the air. this smells like that... but in a fascinating and strangely addictive way
- em inglês
Opening is smokey in more ways than one. Heated dry woods, sun-ripened tabbaco-esque qualities, a little leathery. The medicinal, camphorous hits of the cypriol sneak in early for me. A little into the drydown the hot, hectic forest opens up - sitting under pine trees on a chilly seaside cliff after snorting of one of those menthol nose inhaler sticks. Earthy-yet-spicy vetiver and white, sticky sugar rounds everything off, coming and going in waves. This is a smell you'll never forget. Stora Skuggan's range is truly incredible <3
- em inglês
"Mistpouffer" by Stora Skuggan is a fragrance that's as mysterious as the natural phenomenon it's named after. With a mix of Bergamot, Immortelle, Pine, and Fig Leaf, it starts fresh and quickly turns into something deeper, with smoky and sweet base notes. It's like capturing fog and smoke in a bottle - intriguing, elusive, and utterly unique. A scent that's both natural and supernatural, perfect for those who love a bit of mystery in their perfume.
- em inglês
It has the distinctive originality you’d expect from a niche house, offering a scent that’s rarely encountered. The smoky and sugary notes blend harmoniously with the crisp freshness of pine, creating a mysterious aura. I’d give high marks to the perfumer’s creative vision. In terms of longevity and sillage, it delivers an above-average performance.
