Rise

The mint is very prominent at the start. Refreshing and sweet. Good alternative to Polo Sport. Very far from CK 1 or 212. Why don't anybody say that?

Cheaper and weaker version of CK one and 212 , yet it long last on clothes , I personally use it after daily showers at home

Great gym scent or dum reach. If you haven’t got the funds for YSL L’homme then go for this. Incredible value.

I’ve smelt STR8 Rise only once and it was enough because its the most generic out of the three STR8 EDT’s i’ve tested. As hard as i tried to force myself and shine a positive light on it, something i admit i’ve done in the past for certain fragrances, i couldn’t this time. It smells infinetly better then sweat or body odour tho so i’ll give it that. Out of the three, its most similar to STR8 Original but once again, more generic and in line with what people like to call a “supermarket fragrance” with a derogatory tone. The Original had a comforting sweetness and an almost fresh-cold-ambery glow to it that made it (in relative terms) stand out to me whilst Red Code was targeted for young audiences with its colorful fruityness. Rise on the other hand is a simple, green and sweetish, screechy synthetic showergel scent. Untill now i never really understood the comparitions of modern blue/fresh fragrances with men’s showergels possibly because im more inclined to use soap bars or neutral showergels. Actually, La Rive’s Extreme Story (Sauvage clone) reminded me of a men’s bathroom product but it was smoother and more pleasant to me. For some reason i always considered men’s showergels to be immature in a sense. Im firmly against the trendy/progressive personality labels and tropes so you will rarely see me go down that path but those “on-the-nose” men’s showergels come across as try-hard and edgy in a tasteless and fk boy teenager way to me. Products all named ENERGY, BOOST, POWER, WILD, IMPACT, TIGER, WOLF etc etc. All written in big bold eye-scratching fonts, we all know the usual suspects. As i said earlier, untill now i never made a connection between men’s fresh fragrances and men’s showergels but with Rise, that connection is glaringly obvious. Not only that, its also a cheap rendition of that concept. At the end of the day we are talking about affordable products but in my mind, something affordable doesn’t automatically mean bad. An affordable thing done with heart has immense value in my eyes. Its not that Rise smells bad, but its done without heart and THAT’s what makes it cheap, not the pricetag.
