Caffeine Honey

Starting my sampling of the house of Strangers Parfumerie, by Prin Lomros (of Pryn Parfum and other projects), with the fragrance I saw that first caught my eye, Caffeine Honey, one of the house’s more recent releases, one of several that seems to explicitly reference coffee, one of my favorite notes in fragrance. Fittingly, there is a sweet, honeyed aspect blended with coffee, but there’s definitely some spice and intrigue—surely some tobacco, a little cognac, perhaps some of the suggested popcorn note, with its bit of butter and salt. It’s really an enjoyable mostly-gourmand ensemble that excels at not overwhelming in any one aspect—the sweet, the salty, the boozy, the tobacco, nor even the coffee itself, which is a bit more prominent in the opening than the dry down but remains part of an interesting mix throughout. I certainly recommend that fans of gourmands, coffee, and honey fragrances look into this, and I’ll have to put some thought into nabbing a bottle, as it seems to perform pretty well. Available in EDP concentration for the price of $80 for 30ml, it is sold in the US via Luckyscent, seemingly with the entire line of fragrances dating back to 2017. Oh my goodness. What a pleasant surprise this perfume was. Sweet coffee, like the smell of medium roast fresh beans - that sweet smell. I did get the honey note and the vanilla in the dry-down. I only got a small tester from Luckyscent, so I will be getting a full bottle of this. Wow.

Oooooo!!! That's nice on a man though! Sexy, elegant and rich!!! I want it for my husband, strong coffee at the beginning then wow booze,amber,warm,seductive! Really like it a lot, will be on my buying list :-)

One of the best coffee opening. Then change boozy honey tobacco scent with low-key coffee. Must try for the coffee lovers.

The first time I smelled this I absolutely hated it, the honey was so strong along with what I assume is the cade oil, labdanum, and amberwood. Super screechy and nearly tossed the sample out. Left the sample alone for a month or so and came back to it tonight and I like it? The coffee note was more prominent and I can smell it this time around, I still get those notes I got on the first wear too but it's more tolerable this time around. It almost kind of reminds me of honey aoud from montale. The screechy note in this gives me a headache though. I look forward to trying it again when it's colder outside. It's an interesting smell to say the least, don't expect it to be a crowd pleaser.

This really is exactly what the name implies: coffee and honey. It’s a nice combo that is backed up by ambery, smoky, boozy notes as a sophisticated afterthought. This is in fact very strong and long lasting but it might be because I accidentally poured three-quarters of my decant on myself. I’m a little sad I’ll probably only get one more use out of it because this is a unique scent that doesn’t remind me of any other perfumes. I will say it’s very limited to only one type of weather, I could NEVER wear this in spring or summer.

Booze and cigars, cut hay drying in the sun, campfire coffee, and smoky, deep-hued raw honey. A gentleman cowboy; rustic, wry, and robust, with an intriguing air of melancholy.

This might be one of few fragrances that I can identify most of the prominent notes. Actually I'm beginning to think that may not be a good thing. The coffee, honey, vanilla, and popcorn (salty butter) are all bold in their makeup and leave this fragrance a little too loud and busy for me. For me this was always going to be a novelty fragrance, worn on certain carefree and fun occasions. However this is not a relaxing fragrance, for me, and after a while becomes slightly annoying. I admire what Strangers Parfumerie has accomplished here. The product is true to both its name and note make-up and of good quality. I really wish it resonated a little bit better for me. Oh well, I'm glad to see so many others have pleasing experiences. Lastly, I do want to mention their presentation. It is bare bones. A small bottle, plastic cap, with a simple sticker. Not much to write home about but I'm sure that is done to keep the price of their fragrances down. I appreciate that!

An oversweet cup of coffee w/ some kind of liquor in it. Not my kind of thing. I'm not a coffee drinker and I don't care for the smell of it all that much but let me say this if you love the smell of sweet coffee w/ a boozy effect and want to smell like that all day this is a good one to check out. It is a beast mode fragrance. For me it is a candle scent not a perfume.

strong honey. the dark, thick natural kind. some tobacco. sweet spice.

Stomach-turning, and not in the daring, avant-garde way one forgives, just in the literal one. The coffee is robusta gone wrong: stale, badly stored, the bag left open next to something regrettable. The honey is old and crystallized, with that urinous/animalic edge honey always threatens and here actually delivers. Nothing divine joins this union; nothing softens it.

I loved the strong coffee scent at first, but then the honey note took over, but instead of it smelling like honey, it smelled completely like urine with my chemistry. Soon I couldn't even smell the coffee anymore, and I could not scrub it off no many how many times I tried. So the good thing? It lasts forever! But if your chemistry amps up iffy notes, it's best to get a sample instead of blind buying.

Opens up with a delicious sweet coffee but strong. However, the dry down was much more masculine than I’d like. I’m not sure if I’d describe it as boozy, but it’s definitely on the sharper side to my nose. It also lasts a lot longer than I wanted despite trying to scrub it off. Not a safe blind buy but I can see why people would like this.
