Comme Un Carrousel

I really like this scent. It's not unlike tonka cola or 19-69 kasbah though it dries down way less woody than kasbah, no guiac wood. the opening is very much coke forward but really you should think of this like a spicy amber because that's what this perfume is. It's a little sweet, yes honey sure, cloves and ginger and vanilla - a little rose. The dry down is a heavenly amber. Reallllllly nice. It's not at all to me a warm weather scent so probably the name doesn't fit it? It's fun like a carnival but maybe more like a Mardi Gras way perhaps in Nice but not over the summer. 10/10 scent.

I reeeealllly like this. It smells comforting and like a not typical skin scent after it dries down. It’s funny cause I don’t necessarily smell Coca Cola but once I saw that note listed I can understand it being there I guess...this might sound weird but this reminds me of the way my moms skin smelled when I was little and she was comforting me.

I get the cola, rum, honey, ginger, amber, myrrh, and cinnamon of 1st sniff; easily. This is amazing to me to be able to pinpoint so many notes quickly. The Cola and rum is most dominate. I love this!

Instead of a syrupy wet cola accord I’m getting something more soft and dry — almost cottony. The cola accord is like a spill that has dried into a wool sweater in the summer night air. Very spicy too, a seriously beautiful cinnamon note. Cloves just barely peak out to give the cinnamon more depth. A playful ambery sweetness but the overall effect feels somber to me. The Great Gatsby. Romantic, nostalgic, loud, dreamy, slightly tragic. 8.5/10

I very much see what others are saying. This definitely smells dry in a good way. Opens up a blast of sparkling cherry cola then fades into something so warm and spicy with the cola still a bit present. It's definitely the ginger, cinnamon, clove, and honey thats giving this dry down smell. I dig it!!!

Ah, this perfume smells exactly like my personality. A hippie who spends their time surrounded by incense and probably spilled cherry Pepsi on themselves a few hours ago. This is either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your tastes. I love it!

While not exactly the same smell, I get the same vibe from this as I do Creed's Acier Aluminium - a fruity, spicy and ambery mix that comes across a little dated.

Reminds me of enigma quite a bit, but with a bit of prin twist I enjoyed it quite a bit and would recommend it to anyone who likes enigma

I just received the 2020 Summer Sample Set from Strangers, and I’m really excited to test drive this new brand (to me). Nothing pains me more in regards to reviewing an indie niche brand, and being so disappointed that I write a negative review. According to the brand copy, your “love will have your head spinning like a carousel” or something to that effect....and it does indeed make my head spin. Right out of the gate, the first thing I noticed is Comme Un Carrousel does not smell like your typical summer festival. For most people this will come across as a cold weather scent, with some heavy lifting coming from tobacco and spice notes. This fume has a hamfisted approach; there’s nothing subtle, no development, and to my novice nose, Comme Un Carrousel doesn’t feel finished. I’m washing it off before the first hour. Comme Un Carrousel is a heavy dose of Auntie’s potpourri spices, and I’m not enjoying the overtly synthetic ride. Lastly, my unsolicited advice on the design of the bottles, and to a lesser extent, the Strangers Summer Sample Set: If you have read my reviews on Fragrantica you probably know where I’m going. The label and packaging design are cringe worthy. The typography and layout looks like something a teenager working on the high school year book committee would do. The results look....ugly. The brand needs a competent graphic designer to overhaul the company aesthetic, preferably sooner than later.

There was a soap my nana used to use. Imperial Leather. This smells of Imperial Leather soap. Form the 70s-80’s (it’s still made now but I don’t know if it smells the same). If I try really hard I can smell a tiny hint of Coca Cola, but this is nothing like Enigma Cologne, at all. Not even close. And anyone who thinks this smells even slightly like Pure Havane needs their nose testing. Mainly I get peppery soap. It’s dated, old fashioned, and a spicy soap scent.

I was excited about the combination of cola and smoke and did enjoy the rowdy French teen vibe on the opening but it dried to a sharp and almost dirty ash scent on my skin. I think I would have disliked it more immediately had I not had the inspiration/image from the brand in my head! I'm sure this really works for some and I'd be interested to see how it is after a day outdoors.

Those notes sound divine, right? Well, this is not divine, neither is it wearable. This house reminds me of Tauer, nice guy, great ideas and likeable owner all around, but the products are a mess. It even smells like it has the infamous tauerade which I can’t stand. I guess they get their supplies from the same place. Hard pass.

This has the same sweet base as Magenta Pop. It opens up with a fizzy sweet cola scent, but it very quickly disappears and turns into the dry down that stays with it for the rest of the wearing. The dry down is long lasting, but it doesn't have a strong sillage. To me this is Magenta Pop if you stripped out all of the top notes and animalic funk and replaced it with purely Coca Cola. In that regard if you want something fun and sweet this could be one to go for, but it does make it less exciting than Magenta Pop

This smells like a carbon copy of an air freshener which we get in the UK called Air Wick, more specifically their Apple Cinnamon variant which is commonly available to buy around the holiday period. Let's forget about air fresheners for now and look at this as a perfume and a perfume only. You are hit with a concoction of apple, cinnamon and honey which is super cloying and synthetic which makes it very difficult to wear without almost being reminded of how artificial the perfume smells.

You're in a Cracker Barrel gift shop sipping on a Coca-Cola Classic (from the glass bottle), browsing over their "antique" trinkets. Moseying by their apple spice candles and their 1950's toy sets and other miscellaneous doo-dads like carved pine cones and organic potpourri, you hear your name called to be seated, and you hurry over to your grandma (wearing a bit too much rose perfume) to help walk her into the restaurant. CocaCola then sweet pipe tobacco. It's not as bad as some of the comments here, but I already own Fumerie Turque if I want pipe tobacco.
