Kira Kira きらきら

First time smelling it was alright, but after several try on skin I think I'm in love, I can imagine walking slowly during hot summer night in Tokyo streets after some shots with fellow colleagues. Start with alcohol-ish of freshly brewed sake and crispiness of cold pear, after like 10 minutes it dries down to a warm musky skinscent. The longevity is alright 4-5 hours close to skin but the sillage is meh (can't blame due to the nature of ambery musky scent profile).

This has become one of my favorites. This is the musky sweet pear fragrance I've been searching for! Skin scent type of fragrance but the longevity is pretty good. I like it even better Miller Harris' Poirier dun Soir and I certainly like this better than Another 13. My only gripe is that they only sell 30ml bottles of this and I'm kicking myself for not buying two coz I'm already halfway through the bottle and it's only been 3 weeks!

Revisit and update. Has developed for the better. More noticeable though subtle. More a core body I feel for best projection. Projects strong but in a stealthy shinobi way. Only way I can explain it..lol. Also, I feel like I have developed a recognition of the notes here with time and education. For yourself but others will feel the fragrance and might get overwhelmed.

Perfect perfume Same as Hikari from Pryn. I hope it will repeat the same hype. Have a bottle of original one and this is a classic avant garde scent with sake, pear and solar notes maybe with little bit a “ old woman” vibe. Great a low key perfume for everyday. I don’t think you can to impress somebody but definitely has some uniqueness.

It's fresh and uplifting, yet also soft and delicate. I'm enjoying the green apple note which feels sweet instead of sour. This is a unique perfume for sure, although I feel it's very easily likeable. Definitely a scent to wear on a beautiful springtime walk

For some reason I’m anosmic to this fragrance. Can’t smell anything or a bad batch? More like anosmia. Some musks cannot detect. Natural reals I can detect. We’ll I’ll keep applying until something comes through.

OK so Kira Kira is a very interesting fragrance. At the beginning you think its not even there, you try to put more on, because you can barely smell it (pear, ambroxan, booze) and its pleasant, so you want more, but then when you wear it regularly it just gets everywhere and it somehow is overpowering. I had to take a break from it as it was just everywhere, on my coat, my clothes. A really good and unusual fragrance but I think its not for the faint hearted. Super interesting and tricky. The ambroxan, the pear and sake definitely predominates. I think it's totally unisex, maybe even good for a blind buy, as it seems so innocent at the beginning.. People might accuse at first that you got them water.. LOL Worth a try! Update: After giving it some rest, I went back to finish the bottle and I just loved it. When it finished (it's only a small 30 ml bottle) I was very sad. This is a great and unusual fragrance, I would buy it again, despite it's high price. I will try the house's other offerings as well.

Opened up boozy fruity with prominent ambroxan presence. Very soft and serene scent. Then spice showed up and added boldness to it. Somehow it could turn sour with certain body chemistry. Perhaps its the musk. It was a sure presence for about two hours on skin and about four on clothings. Then it ghosted out and haunted the clothing area for over twelve hours, showing its scent every once in a while. I read somewhere that this is quite normal for formula with ambroxan to have such behavior, turning noses anosmic and ghosting in and out. For those anosmic to this, maybe try it out after a few day with a softer spray. I find that over-spraying can cause anosmic with other perfumes I normally don’t get anosmic to.

i had high hopes. i read a book by the same name probably 20 years ago - nostalgia. the first time i wore this, i was taken through texture: sparkly pear, a cloud of dense fog, a fluffy sweater of musk. it felt like a memory and seemed like a well intentioned reference to le labo's another 13. the second time i wore this, it was a short-lived sake-soaked mess. perhaps it had to do with body temperature or masceration, but i'm not confident it will become a full bottle purchase.

As others have said there's definitely a similarity here with Another 13, a personal favourite, with ambroxan, pear, ambrette and a hint of mint (although that's not listed in the notes for Another 13 it's definitely in there). This is brighter and greener, though. A cleaner musk with prominent lily of the valley being a key difference. Possibly not one for the dead of winter but I'll definitely get the sample back out come spring.

Smell very nice, very skin scent, unisex, clean, office friendly but the sillage is very very weak. I have to combine with others to make it prominent

Need to test on skin, not safe blind buy. Delicious on me but the dry down is a bit overly musky. Would need reapplication after a few hours.

it’s fresh, yet spicy. a lot like a classic 90s pear fragrance. i really enjoy this, it lasts a long time!

sake, pear, sandalwood - its really nice, complex, fresh. doesn't last too long sadly.

I was so excited when I received my sample of this fragrance. I was a little concerned, however, because I usually can't smell perfumes that contain a large dose of Ambroxan. When I first applied the fragrance I got a strong whiff of alcohol and then a very pretty, gentle pear shampoo scent. After about 10 minutes it got even softer and I could pick up a little of lily of the valley and the musk. Then it just disappeared after about an hour. Or, it disappeared to my nose. Sadly, I am anosmic to this scent. What I could smell was very pretty - but very faint. I think I'm going to just avoid these "molecular skin scents" type fragrances going forwared. They never work out for me.

What a bummer. Was really looking forward to this one. Don't get me wrong, the dry down is a beautiful scent. It opens with a blast of alcohol, you have to wait like 5 or 10 minutes before smelling it because it will numb your senses. The dry down is nice! It's melon-y sweet and tart and musky. But it's barely there, like, this is one of the lightest fragrance I've ever tried and it's such a shame! I think depending on your skin, it could go either way for you. Probably has better projection on paper, which I should try. Overall, a let down. The idea is there and it's nice, but you can't really enjoy it. 4.5/10

You know how people say that La Croix tastes like fruity TV static? This is what kira kira is like to me. Scent profile-wise, it is reminiscent of a fainter, mintier J-Scent Yawahada that is totally drowned out by ambroxan. It has that very synthetic, molecular "clean" smell of Glossier You, but instead of powdery pink pepper/iris, you get a touch of pear and mint that disappears in the blink of an eye. I really enjoy Strangers Parfumerie, but this was a miss for me.

Bought a sample. Faintly sweet, hard to place-- very fresh. Reminds me of the difference between store-bought and home-grown strawberries-- once has a lot more water. Very unoffensive, to the point of being bland. The tiniest hint of musk. Not sure what to make of this, honestly.

Kira Kira stands apart from Prin Lomros’ usual style with its light, almost skin-scent quality. The pear note is tender, musky, and clean—not edible or gourmand. It feels breezy and slightly floral, with a delicacy that makes it quietly beautiful.

This is like a mix of "Not a Perfume" and "Pear Inc" from JHAG but better quality :D if you like those scents, you will probably love this one. I personally do not care for them so I do not really care for this one either.

Absolutely GORGEOUS opening with a juicy pear and a sharp but clean alcohol note. Not boozy just clean, light musk and slightly floral. I was so happy... until it turned into sunblock on my skin.

Im just getting a ton of musk. No sweetness like some are describing. Frankly, a bit boring and I think there are other scents that do this better. Not an offensive scent though.

I’m a big big Prin Lomros fan. I own a number of Strangers creations. It was with great anticipation that I ripped open my parcel to finally open my Discovery Kit for the new 2020 releases. I love gourmand and Pear scents. Not a single product out there does it well bar Panah London Brandied Pear and Slumberhouse Pear and Olive. So, I was a bit worried about what I might get here... It starts with a gorgeous sweet pear with a dark base. After a few minutes I’m worried the perfume is going to turn into hairspray like so many but it settles and softens. The bright airiness disappears, maybe that was the mint - I haven’t really found it otherwise. I get a William Bartlett pear juice slowly disappearing over 20 minutes to reveal a musky sweetness and what seems like a powdery soft patchouli and yes, some rice saki minus the sharp alcoholic kick. It has an underwhelming bubble 30 minutes in despite me dousing myself and forty minutes in it’s a generic dusty weak musk. Nice attempt at what seems to be the harder scent to create but sadly this one I’m going to have to sweep under the rug and pretend it didn’t happen.

I’m not opposed to synthetic notes used in perfume, but lab notes dominate in all three of the Stranger perfumes I have sampled. So far I have not been impressed. In Kira Kira I don’t smell a natural pear or apple, i think instead this is closer to an abstract idea of what a pear and apple might smell like. Ambroxan is overpowering the entire composition.

To me this smells very chemical. Unfortunately I got a headache after wearing it on my wrists. Try before you buy.

Was expecting something original, but this was a really generic musk on me.

Unfortunately it dries down to smell like Burberry her on my skin...bleh.

My first thought was Another 13 by Le Labo. They share some charcteristics. This seems more light, fluffy and airy in texture. Its like a pleasant summer breeze with flowers and herbs (not very green herbs). The pear is recognizable too. Im a fan of these airy, whispering and minimal scents (vs those loud extrovert monsters). As good minimalistic art, there is something genious of simplicity represented in Kira Kira. Inspired by a sparkling city in Japan in the hot summer. I can see that, but then as an escape into the city’s park with peace, quiet and trees with flowers. Maybe some crystal clear running water. I do not get any urban vibes with Kira. It takes me directly to happy summer memories at the countryside (or a park). I like this better than Another13. A13 has a musky quality that im quite ambivalent to. Kira kira speaks to me and I understand the beauty of its language.

i was super hyped to try this one out, i got a sample and i must say it hasn't lived up to the expectations i had in my head... doesn't really have the sake smell i was hoping for. sake can smell downright earthy, mossy, peaty and ever vegetal-yeasty, kira kira, unfortunately, does not have any of these elements. there is a lingering aromachemical scent that dominates from the first spray, it reminds me of something used in le labo's 'another 13', which is a wholly aromachemical based scent, apparently. anyway, this one will be tried again, just to be sure, but this was a little disappointing, if i'm being 100% honest...

Sampling Strangers Parfumerie Kira Kira, a fresh, fruity musky blend that’s modest and nuanced, with notes of pear, green apple, musk, ambroxan, lily of the valley. I think it’s perfectly pleasant and agreeable, at the intersection of several types, while not being too much of a standout in the line. I like that it doesn’t veer off into overly floral or musky territory, with those elements tempering but not overtaking the fruits, and it really feels very likable and unisex and versatile on the whole. Kira Kira is sold online at Luckyscent for the brand’s standard EDP pricing of $80 for 30ml. 7 out of 10

Molecule musk, glossy green apple, 90’s Herbal Essence shampoo, light crystal pepper; very 90’s clean dream girl fragrance. This completely reminds me of Liz Purr from the JAWBREAKER movie... where Fern praises her “She's got this shiny hair, you know? It smells like apples. I'd sit there, staring at her from behind. She has this cluster of beauty marks on the back of her neck. ...... an uncharted constellation.”

✨sparkly, juicy, mouthwatering fruit. very transparent and bright. smells like crisp apple and pear with ambroxan and a boozy sake note. almost fizzy. new bottle smells quite different from my first one. javanol is now listed on the bottle and it feels more musky, smoother, less airy and less sparkly. still fruity and nice, but not the same magic as before.

What does this smell like? Maybe a Polly Pocket figurine? Like an old, defective scratch and sniff sticker. You aggressively rub a coin across the sticker to release the scent but nothing happens. It’s like the underside of a metal cap belonging to last night's bottle of green apple flavored soju.

great shimmery pear note, nice whisper of green apple, but disappears really fast! i love the first spray, and then it's gone. it's still nice, and i like that it's like... an updated, cleaner combination of dkny be delicious and vs glazed pear. super cool, fresh, y2k-y, rainy, fruity shampoo.

A minimalistic scent. Very molecular thanks to ambroxan. I cannot smell it on paper, but on my skin I get green apple 🍏 in the opening. It would be nice for anyone working in healthcare or schools where perfume is not allowed.

a crisp and fruity skin scent that is undeniably molecular. bright, sparkly, and slightly boozy, makes me wish i was walking the streets of japan on a summer day...another 13 for the esoteric.

The sake here is just a hint but not a main note, actually difficult to distinguish anything with hedione. Great smell I really like and it fit the summer 👌

smells almost exactly like the drydown of 'the ghost in the shell' but less sweet and more delicate.
