Sampling Strangers Parfumerie Roasted Coffee Cigarette Whisky Come and get your Suede Honey Baby, generally shortened to just “Roasted Coffee.” Its long name is a helpful descriptor, as the fragrance does start out with a hefty dose of dark, roasted coffee, followed by an emergency of whiskey, and a further dry down into a blend of a few other notes—most notably, tobacco, hay, musk, and what, to me, has a bit of a makeup/lipstick sort of quality. So there’s a little funk from the hay, a bit of cosmetics, but a strong center of coffee, booze, and tobacco, making for a provocative blend that nonetheless has some familiar, comforting points. Comparison-wise, I find connections to both both Kerosene Follow (the coffee gold standard, featuring a blend of dark coffee, amber, and vanilla) and 4160 Tuesdays Take Me to the River (a bit of a rock and roll mix of rose, leather, wine, and tobacco). Roasted Coffee is a bit of a rock and roll coffee scent with some pep, less the woody/spicy coffee blend that SM Café is, and less the more sugary Caffeine Honey. This is a great scent, even though I’d still say that Caffeine Honey is my favorite of the three, but together, they’re a great coffee variety within one house, and I would happily own bottles of all three if money were no object. Roasted Coffee is in extrait de parfum concentration and is priced at $110 for 30ml, which seems to the current standard pricing for extrait, vs. $80 for 30ml for EDP (scents seem to be made in one concentration or the other, not both). It is sold online at Luckyscent and Indiescents. 8 out of 10

The notes of this perfume are quite chaotic but very wearable nevertheless. At first spray, I picked up on a burnt popcorn smell, rubber, leather and something like gasoline. To me, it smelled like a gas station parking lot. But, thankfully, the harsher notes of rubber, gasoline and popcorn faded after only about ten minutes. It immediately came alive from the tobacco, dark alcohol notes and honey. Boozy, sweet, earthy and almost fruity from the richness of the tobacco and honey combined. The leather is still there lingering in the background for a while, fading after about two to three hours. The 'fruitiness' lasts for most of the wear before the vanilla emerges about four to five hours into it, elevating the sweetness. For the latter portion, all I could detect was the tobacco, honey and vanilla. Overall, this is heavenly to me and reminds me of summertime in the American South—warm and familiar, boozy sweet, earthy and rich. It's a hot summer day, smoking a cigarette at a gas station before transitioning to enjoying an evening glass of brown liquor on the porch of a tobacco farmhouse. Normally, I'm a little disappointed/upset when I can't pick up on any coffee in perfumes that list it as a note (especially when it's in the title); however, though I couldn't distinguish any in this perfume, it's sooo good to me that I didn't even really think about it. This can read as a somewhat 'masculine' fragrance if that matters to you but, as someone who prefers to wear 'feminine' scents, I absolutely love this and think it could suit just about anyone.

Not sure where all the “old person” comments are popping up, but I can see why this scent is controversial. I was searching for realistic coffee fragrances that didn’t smell like someone had just spilled their cup onto my blouse but also wasn’t in the coffee scented candle from HomeGoods category. The three I chose were Cafe Tuberose by Atelier; Coffee White Flowers by Bohoboco; and this one. Surprisingly, this one is the fragrance I grab the most. I have yet to get a negative reaction from others. It’s definitely strong and attention-getting. Some people pick up the wood and leather, and others only smell the sweet gourmand notes. My own nose really picks up the coffee and honey, which is a combination that reminds me of my best friend who sweetens her coffee with raw honey instead of sugar. I personally love it, especially in fall and winter. Unusual but totally gorgeous.

I test this along with SM Cafe(?), I do enjoy this one. It open with a nice authentic espresso kind of scent. Then it transit the Honey-caramel-Suede kind of experience. The honey in this is very mild acidic, like forest honey. The suediness in this is just right amount. This one projects fairly strong and have great longevity. At very far dry down, I can smell tint of aroma chemical. Ambermax(?) maybe, I am not sure but that caramel-honey sweetness still linger. Oh boy, so ideal. Very warm, cozy and festive. This might be my first one to added to collection from Stranger perfume. 9/10

I got this as part of the discovery set. The tube’s sprayer was not doing a great job and the amount sprayed probably wasn’t up to par. Anyway I only got beautiful roasted coffee with just right amount of caramel for flavoring on skin sample. As for the on clothing sample I got a beautiful Irish coffee, whiskey laced coffee with cream and all, albeit the bartender was a bit stingy with the whiskey. All the other notes were lost to me. But with what I got it’s already a big love. Looking forward to the day I can find a full bottle.

One of the richest gourmand coffee scents. It is quite complex on my skin, so it stays very alive. I mostly get boozy honeyed coffee, which reminds of chocolate at some point, but I guess this is vanilla. I can also sense buttery popcorn somewhere from behind, which is lovely. Maybe too intense for a full bottle, 15ml would be perfect for my taste:)

This perfume is very strange but in curious way! First it opens with a blast of dark chocolate remind me of chocolate hookah! After that the caramel popcorn starts to appear then coffee starts to shine and last there is a beautiful tobacco note in the dry down

coffee, whiskey, tobacco, honey, butter, caramel popcorn. this is extremely sweet and gourmand. if you are not a die-hard, "i want to literally smell like food" type of person, just skip this one. i love smelling like food, especially coffee and whiskey. the coffee note isn't that strong for me. i can see why people think this is a "coffee" fragrance, but it's more of an alcohol and caramel-type fragrance and the coffee sits somewhere in the background. this fragrance is definitely not the best coffee scent i've tried, but it definitely is the best whiskey scent i've ever tried. the whiskey is the top note for me, and behind that, i get a beautiful note of rich caramel and salted popcorn. it literally smells like a party on a cool fall night. it's basically a party or bonfire in the october months in a bottle. reminds me of the days we would just sit around the fire drinking hot chocolate and coffee and making smores. oh yeah, and drink. it's an alcoholic perfume so don't be surprised if people think you were drinking. xx ♡💌

The initial spray was a BOMB. The air smelled sweet-ish with a hint of brandy and honey while the smell on my skin was of coffee and amber. After letting it sit the amber and earthy notes were revealed. The dry down is really nice. I could see it being a little too weird for people that haven't smelt niche fragrances. I rate it a 8/10

Lovely boozy coffee scent. opening with nice cozy roasted coffee mixed with honey and whiskey then dry down I got pachouli and warm woody vibe and still got some coffee in the background. Longevity is good 8 hours on my skin. Impressive. Scent : 4/5 Longevity : 4/5 Sillage : 4/5

This is STRONG and divisive. It’s caramel popcorn dialed up to 11. It’s coffee that’s been sitting in the break room for six hours. It’s delicious, it’s nauseating, and I can’t stop sampling the stuff.

This fragrance dries down to a very wearable scent, i think (for the right person, definitely not for me or for everyone). I completely panicked the first time i sprayed it on my arm before bed, because it started off with a bang - it was like every note listed was dialed up to 100 and came at me all at once. It was shocking, and there was some note that smelled just horrible to me. So i ran some unscented soap and water over my arm. Now that it's dried down a bit, i can appreciate that this would smell good on someone. It's not for me whatsoever. But it smells like a mix of the natural smells of someone's day, potentially, to the point where i could imagine it being an effortless scent for the right person. Like if you accumulate coffee, leather, smoke, booze, and some other natural scents over the course of your day, then this smells like that. I'm finding the dry-down pleasant and really could see a man rocking this in the right setting. The initial blast was one of the more offensive scents I've experienced, though. Almost reminded me of urine - quite harsh.

Not bad, but far from what I was expecting. The initial scent is something like vetiver, cocoa butter, and dry hay. It's sweet, a bit complex, and not entirely friendly. The richer scents take a backseat here, coffee bean and booze as well as old cigarettes rounding out the whole thing. It makes me think of a waspish elderly woman, one who's smell of sweet powdery perfume is accented with her love of cigarettes and dark liquor. She's interesting, beautiful in a sharp way, but ultimately head ache inducing.

Weird I never reviewed this. I guess I was mostly seeing the words "Cigarette" "Whisky" and "Suede" and not Coffee or Honey, which is really all this ends up being. Starts harsh and chemically. Mellows down into pure coffee. Good cafe frag, no doubt, although it doesn't come across as real or high quality. Not for me, but it's okay. 5.5/10

Definitely the mens version of their coffee colognes. This one dries down to a drakkar noor almost, though a classy, coffee-fied version.. initiatial nose was straight Kahlua, then came in some more sugary and creamy notes. Pretty nice journey, it's still pretty strong after 4 hours. A little goes a long wa!y

this is so repulsive and intoxicating at the same time--like talking to a strange old cowboy at the end of the bar whose demeanor and intentions you can't quite get a read on. also, the popcorn note at the center of this is one of the most bizarre things i've ever smelled in my life.

Smells like a hangover. Old stale dark roast coffee in a paper cup. Sweetened with honey. Sipped with liquor breath. The eventual leathery, chocolatey 90's coffeehouse dry down is quite nice, but the opening sweetness extends too long.

At first I was excited testing this blind, opening up with an initial chocolate garnache and gourmand feeling that was rich but not too cloying or dessert like. But as it dried down - and specifically throughout most of the day - I mostly got a heavy tobacco air that was just too ashy for me. By the end of the day it had a nice woodsy feeling but was just a skin scent by then. So looking at the name and notes now I see they went with the obligatory PhD thesis title, which like some is more wishful thinking than proof in the work. Coffee, I don't get. Tobacco is definitely the main argument. While one can pull out most of the note concepts, things like apricot, rubber tire, popcorn, and hay, all feel like random unrelated quotes to force in, just to unnecessary beef up the bibliography. While the main thesis is a richer tobacco ash. I'm not a fan. But, if you like tobacco fragrances, give this one a read. And ignore the intro, as it's not the main theme anyways. Keep in mind it will take it's time and cost a moderate lab fee.

Old-school disco energy — the bathroom where straight-A kids and troublemakers suddenly become equals, united by the same brutally harsh cigarettes 🚬, the kind that taste closer to ash than tobacco. Smoke hangs in layers. Cigarette butts are crushed into whitewashed walls. In the corner, a growing archaeological site of stubs. Someone spilled cheap rum, someone missed the toilet... call it teenage team-building. And then the perfumer drops a sugar-glazed donut into this scene — a break in hopelessly dirty sensory cacophony. It’s a brutal kind of scent, triggering something long buried through your senses. I started exploring Prin Lomros fromZoologist Rhinoceros — polished, expensive, all English cigar lounge and refined liquor, where everyone has impeccable manners. But moving backwards through his work, I feel like I’ve found the origin — something cheap, rough, forbidden, unnecessary... and completely, disarmingly honest.

Headache-inducing bitter coffee, liquor, and cigarette smell. Not in a fun/vibey way. Just ick. Kinda like coffee breath on a creepy professor who comes to class with a hangover and hits on his students.

I love the smell of coffee but this is absolutely disgusting... it smells like an old person, alcohol, tobacco and maybe way in the back coffee... this is just judging from a test strip so I hope testing it on my skin it will have a different dry down... I mainly get tobacco all the way and in the opening a lot of booze I ordered a sample of this solely based on the name "roasted coffee" and less on the notes so take my opinion with a grain of salt...

Oh my god, it's nauseating. Way too sweet. Don't really get hints of coffee and each whiff I get to try and smell the coffee, I just get more nauseous. Smells like someone's recently deceased grandpa.

I smelled the honey note for a split second before getting the worst smell of old man cigarettes I've ever smelled

On Prin’s website (primlomros.com) he explains; “Yes , It’s coffee base with tobacco and leather (No , Not SM Cafe part II). It’s totally different from previous release”. Whilst not smelling identical in theme, it shares a majority of the elements with SM Cafe. This isn’t SM Café II, but more of a remix featuring an overdose of honey. In the opening moments it is intensely sweet and pretty sickly which hasn’t become any more forgiving throughout the multiple wearings of my sample. I get smacked in the face with Digestive biscuits and sticky, overly sweet honey that makes me question my initial interest in this release. It’s the kind of sweetness that pierces through everything like a knife. A little more restraint could have been valuable here. Ultimately it’s a fun fragrance and after the first hour it’s much nicer to the nose. It is just a shame that it starts life so nauseating. Roasted Coffee is sitting at £110 (in the UK) as it is one of the few extraits in the line alongside Cigar Rum Intense. The whole line is well-priced, however for a fun/hyper-sweet fragrance, I’d look towards something cheaper. Does the quality of ingredients justify the price? Yes of course. Is it worth the money in terms of execution from the perspective of personal taste? No, I don’t believe it is. I see what Prin is saying as Roasted Coffee... and SM Cafe do not smell the same, however it just feels like a path we’ve already travelled (providing you’re familiar with SM Café). I think there are many better releases within his line that are worth sampling so do not let my comments deter you. See for yourself whether it is worth your time. I’d even point you in the direction of Burning Ben, Oliver and the previously mentioned: SM Café.

This is the coffee scent that I've been searching high and low for!! I so badly wanted to love Kerosene's Follow because it's touted as the best coffee fragrance on the market, but all I got from that was bitter, plasticky, burnt black coffee. No sweetness or balance whatsoever. I've also realized that I only enjoy the note of coffee when it's in the mix with other notes rather than standing alone in a scent. But this fragrance right here from Strangers Parfumerie?! THIS is the way I need coffee to be done! The coffee is rich, deep, dark, full bodied and SMOOTH. It's not the play play kind of coffee that you'd find in something like Black Opium; this is the real deal. However, it's so perfectly balanced with the sweetness from a combination of the honey, vanilla, apricot and popcorn. And then I also get a bit of the tobacco and suede which help to give it a nice edge. The whiskey and brandy add a beautifully grown up boozy touch to top it all off. I have to give a huge shoutout to Madame Eva Monroe on YouTube because I sampled this on her glowing review and recommendation. This is firmly on my wishlist and I feel like my search for the perfect coffee scent can finally come to a close because this is exactly what I've been looking for.

I'm so glad I found this. I've been looking for a "dark" coffee fragrance for a while without much luck. If there was coffee in a fragrance, on me, it either took a backseat to other notes (e.g. rose in Intense Cafe , Montale) or pretty much immediately veered into a burnt, bitter, plastic-y mess the moment the top notes faded away (the Demeter coffee line, Espresso Royale by Sebastiane). This, though... this feels like I stuck my nose into a coffee grinder, and it's exactly what I wanted. Coffee beans behind the counter of a café, the grind dark and fresh and bracketed with some honey in the background. It doesn't veer bitter, the coffee note doesn't fade a minute in, and while there is some sweetness, it's only to uplift the rest of the composition. This is a dark, roasted, realistic, serious kind of coffee, and I love it. I only wish it was cheaper, but I'll make-do with decants.

Opening reminds me of dua - coffee and irish whiskey .... yes they have the same notes ... However after the initial opening , it takes another twist with the brandy and becomes smoother , rubber very mild , honey mild , i get alot of the burst of a beautiful coffee, whiskey and brandy its definnetly bottle worthy

Surprisingly wearable in the drydown - it definitely has that "spilled coffee all over yourself" vibe in the opening that lots of coffee-centric frags do, but it mellows and becomes a nice, agreeable scent about an hour in without losing the coffee. It's good.

This is a hardcore coffee/honey combo. It makes the popcorn smell dark and austere; the way I like it. I'm glad it doesn't act like a toffee coated popcorn! Solid Gourmand!

Although i just received this, it reminds me of Shihan by Piotr Czarnecki. Just with an updated twist. Again, this is only my first take.. good stuff tho...

the popcorn/butter note is pretty intense in the beginning in a way I didn't like. Then it dries down the a comfortable tobacco-vanilla.

Opening so stodgy and dense it knocked the wind out of me. Who is wearing this. This isn’t a perfume. Absolutely unpleasant
